@Natasha
Astrid nodded and stood up, hopping up on the counter.
Astrid nodded and stood up, hopping up on the counter.
(Gtg. Don't know when I'll be back.)
(Okies. I'm on and off rn too)
Astrid pulled the vent open.
"Be careful! Please don't fall, I don't feel like cleaning up splattered vigilante today, thanks," Aubrey declared.
Astrid snickered. "You coming or not?"
Aubrey rolled her eyes. "Well, I was waiting to see if you could actually get through. Can you?"
Astird nodded as she pulled herself into the vent.
"Okay, I guess that means it's my turn then," Aubrey said to herself as she pulled herself up onto the counter. She took a deep breath, bracing herself, before climbing in behind Astrid.
Astrid crawled through the vent easily. "So–how did you get into this Aubrey? If you don't mind me asking."
"Made a bad decision: tried to 'join' a gang to get info," Aubrey explained shortly, grunting as she moved through the vent. Why did the thing have to be so small?
"Ah, understandable." Astrid replied. She gently pushed the vent leading out of the house out and jumped down onto the lawn below.
What a drop, Aubrey thought, looking down at the ground. Eh, I've jumped off of taller things.
She jumped out, landing on her feet and bracing herself with her hands.
"Yeah, let's just say that gang leaders don't like it when you 'accidentally' spill their biggest secret to their competition," she recalled, smirking.
Astrid laughed. "Well, ya live ya learn. And you do things on 'accident'."
"Yeah," Aubrey agreed, laughing as well. "Except for the fact that I almost didn't live!"
"Well, you DID live, and that's the important thing, right?" Astrid asked as she began running up the street.
Aubrey followed Astrid, subtly checking behind them to make sure no one was following.
"Well, yes. Which is why I said almost," she clarified.
Astrid nodded, not saying anything, keeping her concentration on running.
"Duck into this alley!" Aubrey hissed, pulling the other girl with her to her left. She leaned back against the wall for a moment, taking a quick break from running. "Sorry about that, but this alleyway is usually empty."
Astrid nodded. "Understandable." She took a few deep breaths.
After a minute of catching her breath, Aubrey pushed off the wall. "Okay, you ready?"
Astrid nodded, letting Aubrey take the lead this time.
(…Where should they go…?)
Aubrey checked to make sure no one was watching before she slipped back out onto the street. She walked normally, and to anyone else, it would have looked like she was going for a leisurely stroll.
(Idk……)
Astrid followed Aubrey, taking her lead.
(Maybe… Aubrey's house?)
(Sure!)
Aubrey slowed down a bit so that she was walking beside Astrid.
"So… I'm thinking we should hide out somewhere for a bit. At least, like, a few hours or something," she suggested. "My house isn't too far from here. Maybe we could hang out there?"
Astrid nodded. "That's a good idea."
(After tonight I'm going to be at a conference for a week for the Mission with my family, so I won't be able to nor will have access to Internet in order to get on Notebook.ai just fyi)
(Cool! Have fun!)
"All right. Then we'll go there," Aubrey affirmed, nodding once. She led the way to her house, and, after a while, they stopped in front of a large, gray house that was partially stone and partially siding. Rose bushes bloomed in the front of the house, and the wide stone pathway was lined by small bushes.
(The house:
Astrid blinked. "Wow. Your house is…..really nice." Astrid stated.
