(maybe they dragons they find actually take them to paradise/heaven/the underworld/whatever you want to call it, but the people keep involuntarily switching between paradise and the living world because there's something there that they can't quite let go?)

(yeah that works but not to be offensive heres my idea:
a group of kids have been feeling restless and whatnot, they decide to get out of town and go camping in the mountains. they find a cave that has # eggs that com up to their knees. they bond with a cerrtain egg and it hatches. the dragons 'talk' to them and they leave the cave finding themselves transported to a very dark and depressing world. they walk around and find out that they died on earth and are now in a place where there is no hell and no heaven. they try to find out what is going on and the person/diety behind all this tries to stop them.
again this is just an idea)

(that works too but I kinda want to incorperate the part where the reason they can't move on is because of regrets in life?)

(like what if there isn't any physical thing stopping them? it's all there regrets that are making them feel trapped?)
