"Oh." she says, blushing. This was embarrassing.
"Oh." she says, blushing. This was embarrassing.
"What exactly have you been doing your whole life?"
"Trying to stay alive, bit difficult at this size."
"How have you not been tracked down by the government, surely they'd want to know why you're so small."
"Big people are only concerned with things bigger than themselves, believe me. Most people think I'm some sort of rodent."
"Fair point," Gallio blows on his coffee to cool it down, then takes a small sip, "where do you want to go?"
"I don't really care, honestly."
Gallio sighs, "You can come live with me if you've got nowhere else. You can figure out where to go in your own time."
"I guess that sounds okay." she mumbled.
"Okay," He checks his watch, "It's getting late, the last bus that goes by my place comes in 20 minutes." He takes another, bigger, sip.
"Should we go then?" she asked.
"Yeah," He finishes the coffee and leaves the mug, "Do you want to get back into my pocket?"
"Sure, it's as good a way to travel as any."
Gallio picks Heather up puts her in his pocket, he grabs his bag and leaves the cafe. He walks 10 minutes to the bus stop and waits for the bus to arrive.
Heather pokes her head out of Gallio's pocket. "Woah. I'm so high up!"
"The roof of my apartment building is higher, it's a nice place to watch the stars," Gallio says softly.
"Cool!"
"Yeah, it is," Gallio says as the bus arrives early. He climbs on and shows his ticket. He sits at the back of the empty bus.
Heather said, "Well, I'm very happy to have made your acquaintance, Gallio."
"The feeling is mutual," Gallio smiles, "We can figure everything out tomorrow." He hadn't realised how tired he was until now.
"I guess we…. we….. can." she said, falling asleep.
Gallio looks out the window. Eventually, the bus stops at the bus stop 5 minutes away from his apartment, he gets off and walks to him home. He fumbles with his keys before opening the door and stepping inside. He puts his bags at the end of his bed, finds a pillow for Heather then he takes her out of his pocket and gently places her down on the pillow.
"G'Night, Gallio." Heather says.
"Night, Heather," He does his normal night routine before climbing into his bed. He falls asleep quickly.
(Gtg, I should be on tomorrow)
(Bye!)
