Aster looks up from his pretending to do something interesting. "Ah. Drew. We meet again."
Aster looks up from his pretending to do something interesting. "Ah. Drew. We meet again."
"So we do, Aster," Drew says, pausing slightly before muttering, "So we do." He meets the eyes of the other.
(Frick I meant to put that in past tense)
Aster flinched internally. "What brings you here?"
"Work," Drew shrugs, playing it cool, "What 'bout you?"
"Same thing, except I'm better at it."
"No way, You're not better than me at anything, except being a loser. You're better than me at being a loser." He nods as if this was an amazing comeback.
"I'm obviously better at comebacks than you."
"What? That was great. You can't even deny it. Anyway, I've got a job to do and there's no point in wasting time."
"Right. I better be going as well." Aster straightened his shirt. "See ya around." Hopefully not…
"Sure," I couldn't think of a torture worse. Drew thinks, going on his original path to the mafia run pub.
Aster exited through the back door, heading towards the mafia run pub. Alright. Play it smooth. And don't get jittery this time.
Drew walks in and takes a seat at the bar. "Usual, please," He addresses the bar tender.
Aster steps in and takes a look around. Ugh….people…. He takes a seat in a corner.
"Did you hear about Joel?" Drew starts up gossip. When the bartender replies with a 'no' Drew continues, "Well, I heard he let it slip to a girl at the Gold Hall and now, well let's just say he had a bit of an accident."
Aster squinted. I feel like I recognize that voice…
The Bartender leaves to serve another customer so Drew takes a sip of his drink and looks around the room. He notices Aster and not-so-subtly rolls his eyes, how do they always end up running into each other?
(Yo yo yo yo, What time is it?)
(If that was a reference I cannot comprehend)
(Darn, Hamilton: An American Musical. I haven't watched but I like the songs. Anywho are you up for continuing? You can totally say no if you don't want to)
(OH HAMILTON YEAH!
Sure dude! I'm up for it!)
(Cool, do you want to continue or shall I?)
(You can)
Drew debates whether to approach Aster. He figures that he's got no reason to and instead watches him discreetly out of the corner of his eye. Well at least he tries to be discreet, there is, in fact, nothing discreet about it.
Aster squints. Why is he staring at me? He folds his arms and sighs.
Drew notices that Aster notices him and quickly looks down at the drink in front of him. He taps his finger against the glass.
Aster stands and wanders over to the bar. He sits next to Drew. "Why are you here?" He mutters.
"I'm being sociable," Drew mutters into the glass, "What about you?"
"Same thing apparently." He glances at him.
"Never pegged you as a social butterfly," Drew says, glancing behind him.
"I'm not usually." Aster replied. "Just when it benefits me."
