"Oh, sorry, force of habit. But anyways, please Lillian, why? What drove you to this? I can't…lose someone else so soon."
"Oh, sorry, force of habit. But anyways, please Lillian, why? What drove you to this? I can't…lose someone else so soon."
Lillian kept crying. She didn’t know what to say, ‘I have this voice and this is the only way to shut it up?’ No she would sound crazy.
Ryan perked up, company! He put his guitar around his back and ran to the door opening it excitedly. "Hellllloooooooooo?" He smiled at the girl standing on the other side.
"Here Lil, come with me," Darren took her hand and led her into his bedroom, he sat her down on the bed and closed the door before taking a seat next to her. "It's just us, you can talk to me."
"I know what you're thinking. If you tell the truth, you think we won't believe you. But I've heard a lot of confessions, and no matter how crazy they sound, they have all been true. I'll believe you."
Paige looked up at the boy who answered the door. She opened her mouth to say something but quickly stepped inside and out of sight before she spoke. The van passed and she let out a breath. She studied the boy skeptically. "Darren?" she asked, confused.
(Okay fine then, just throw off my whole flow it's fine. Hint: This is sarcasm. You're fine.)
(Lol sorry)
Paige looked up at the boy who answered the door. She opened her mouth to say something but quickly stepped inside and out of sight before she spoke. The van passed and she let out a breath. She studied the boy skeptically. "Darren?" she asked, confused.
"Did you just ask me if I was Darren? Do I look like a 17 year old built quarterback to you? Quick answer, no! I'm a 21 year old scrawny man named Ryan who is Darren's friend. He's busy upstairs at the moment."
Lillian let out a choked sob. Words, words were supposed to be her ally. Her greatest companion. Words were failing her falling from her grasp so that she couldn’t form the sentence that would tell him everything. Why did words hurt her so?
Belle walked back downstairs, slightly rattled at what she just experienced. She looked up to see a girl she had never seen before. "Oh. Hello. Who are you?"
Darren held her in a tight hug, "Breath honey, it's okay."
Paige shook her head quickly to clear it. She turned her wide blue eyes to the boy's face. As she studied his features, she found herself hesitating, which made it look like she was lingering. She quickly looked away with a whispered "Sorry."
Paige looked up to see another girl coming down the stairs. She said something, but the words were a jumble in Paige's ears. "What?"
"Naw, it's fine, I'm just messing with you. Darren's upstairs, he'll be down in a minute." Ryan smiled.
(Wait, eye? Paige is missing an eye too?)
Lillian took a shaky breath. She felt a wave of calm rush over her.
She chuckled lightly. "I said hello. What's your name?"
(Wait, eye? Paige is missing an eye too?)
(No, sorry! Typing in the dark at night isn't exactly my forte.)
"I won't push you if your not ready, I'm just curious," he said breaking the hug to press his forehead against hers.
"Oh, Paige. Who are you?" Paige asked, looking past Ryan to the girl.
(Wait, eye? Paige is missing an eye too?)
(No, sorry! Typing in the dark at night isn't exactly my forte.)
(Lol same! My keyboard lights up now so that's handy!)
(Same though! But I'm really good at typing without looking. Oh, it would also probably be good to mention that Belle is missing an eye. She does have an eyepatch.)
Lillian whispered shakily, “V-Voice. S-silence. H-help.”
(Same though! But I'm really good at typing without looking. Oh, it would also probably be good to mention that Belle is missing an eye. She does have an eyepatch.)
(Oh, okay…)
"It helps silence the voices?" Darren took a stab at the puzzle Lillian had given him.
(Yeah, I just figured you should probably know that.)
(Yeah.)
"Oh, Paige. Who are you?" Paige asked, looking past Ryan to the girl.
Lillian nodded.
