Jake crossed the yard to get Theos attention but hesitantly stopped. Maybe he was being a bother.

A loud sound buzzed through Theo’s headphones as he jumped up in a fright.

“What the hell?,” Theo said as he took his headphones and pulled open his phone. It was just an unknown number calling as Theo turned his ringtone down.

Noticing movement out of the corner of his eye Theo turned and spotted Jake.

Jakes face turned red at the attention. “Uhh, Hey,” He said nervously.

“Jake what’s up dude,” Theo said smiling brightly at him and waving for him to come over by him.

Forgetting the fact his camera wasn’t attached to a strap as he dropped it into the grass.

He laughed a little despite his anger and frustration. “Hey man, hope it’s okay that I’m here,”

“It’s totally fine,” Theo said picking his camera up as he stood up. To be honest Theo was more then alright with it. He didn’t think Jake would really stop by anytime soon but was glad.

Maybe he would finally have a friend for the first time in a while.

“Do you mind if I hang around for awhile. My parents and I aren’t talking at the moment,” he smiled weakly.

Theo smile faltred a bit wondering what was wrong but patted Jake on the back a bit.

“Sure, do you wanna go inside?” Theo asked.

Jake nodded, “Yeah that’d be great.”

Theo walked up the steps to the door with a Jake lagging a bit behind.

“Sorry about my mom in advance, I know you met one already but the other one loves having people over so she might go all out and make you a full course meal,” Theo said chuckling as he let Jake in the house first.

He nodded looking around at Theos House, it was similar in size and structure to his just with more decoration. “Nice house,”

“Thanks”, Theo said has he pulled his converse off and set his camera on top of the desk near the door.

The Maves house was decorated in a more contemporary style but still seemed homey and welcoming.

“Hey mom we have company,” he yelled.

“Are you sure they won’t mind the unexpected company? Cause I don’t wanna bother you guys,”

Theo heard footsteps approaching the front area as his mom Lora cane into view.

He grinned at Jake and instead of responding just gave Jake a prepare yourself look.

“Theo! You brought a friend over,” his mom said excitedly as she approached Jake.

Jake looked startled but smiled back, “Hey, I’m Jake,”

“Lovely to meet you shake. You must be pure new neighbor. My names Lora and I am Theos mom. Can i get you something to drink or eat?”, she said excitedly.

“Geez mom take a breath,” Theo said goving Jake the I told you so look.

He gave a ‘She’s fine’ smile. “No thank you ma’am but thank you, and it’s good to meet you.”

“Alright well if you need anything let me know,” Lora said with a bright smile,” Now i need to go finish up some work, so you boys have fun.”

“Alright love ya,” Theo said as she walked back around the corner.

Turning to Jake he asked,” Sow she do you want to do?”

Jake shrugged, “Anything but go home is good with me,”

Theo was about to have a panic attack. Since he barely had people over he had no idea what to do and was starting to get flustered.

“Do you wanna watch a movie? Or we could just hangout in my room?” Theo offered hoping it wouldn’t be weird.

Jake smiled, “Yeah I’d love to hang in your room,” he wasn’t sure if he would be able to finish a movie before his parent a freaked out.

“Alright cool,” Theo said as he led Jake to down to the end of the hall where his room was located.

(Theos room would be green paint and the walls would be covered in pictures and Harry Potter memorabilia. He also has a shelf with a bunch of books on it)

Jake looked around Theos room and a smile cracked across his face. Theo was the inner nerd of Jake he wished he could let out but never did in fear of being made fun of. “Awesome room dude,”

Theo blushed as he pushed his glasses up on his nose, a common habit of his.

“Thanks I know it screams ‘I am a huge nerd’ but Harry Potter is amazing,” Theo said as he plopped onto his bed.

"Oh no, Harry Potter is amazing. I prefer the books over the movies. How about you?"

“I love both honestly sure the books are a bit better because their more descriptive but I love the movies as much too.”

"They leave a bit out in the movies but I love them both too," He laughed, "So your parents, they seem nice,"

“Yeah their the best, sure we have had some rough times but I don’t think i could have asked for better parents,” Theo said. “So what about your parents? We don’t have to talk about what happened since I know we just met but if you ever need a listening ear I am here.”
