Thorn thought for a second, "I think I want do something with botany. Maybe develop a new breed of plant that doesn't need sunlight at all."
Thorn thought for a second, "I think I want do something with botany. Maybe develop a new breed of plant that doesn't need sunlight at all."
"That'd be cool," Lana said. "Although, I don't know if people get famous for botany," she teased with a touch of a smile.
Thorn rolled her eyes playfully, "What about George Washington Carver? The guy who did like a bajillion things with peanuts."
"Oh yeah, him," Lana said, shrugging. "Okay, aspire to be like George Washington Carver. The most boring person to read about in history class." She laughed.
Thorn laughed, "Whatever. I just want to do something I love doing. What about you? Do you want to be famous?"
"Not really," Lana replied, her smile fading. "I have a lot of like, semi-ambitions. But I've never really thought I'd live that long." She winced. "That sounded super sad. Forget I said that. Mostly, I want to be an artist."
Thorn looked at her, "Being an artist sounds perfect for you. You're really good at art. I'm sure if you pursue it you'll go far."
"Hope so," she said with a thin smile. She unfolded her legs and tossed the pillow she was hugging behind her. "So, what time is it right now?"
Thorn listened for a moment, "I would say it's getting close to 6. Maybe 5:30."
"I guess we've got some time then," Lana said. "We should probably leave around 6:45? To minimize sunlight."
Thorn nodded, "Sounds like a plan. So how should we kill time?"
"I'm out of ideas," she admitted. "What do you think?"
"I've got nothing," Thorn laid back on the bed.
Lana leaned back as well, staring up at the ceiling. "What's your favorite…uh…TV show?"
"I like Game of Thrones," Thorn said, "What about you?"
"Would it be weird to say Breaking Bad?" Lana giggled. "It's not because I do drugs, I swear. The storytelling is flawless."
Thorn smiled, "No way. Breaking Bad is a good show."
"I know right?" She grinned. "It's one of those shows that's just plot-driven. What other shows do you like?"
"I like the older episodes of the Fairly Oddparents," Thorn said, "The newer ones just don't seem as good."
"I'm a huge cartoon fan," Lana said. "Fairly Oddparents was never my favorite, but it's a fun show."
"Yeah," Thorn smiled, "What's your favorite cartoon?"
"My favorite american cartoon is Avatar: The Last Airbender," she replied. "Old, but good."
Thorn's eyes lit up, "That show is amazing! Man I can't believe I forgot about it."
"Oh, man, you probably haven't seen the spin-off," she realized. "Legends of Korra. Not as good as the original, but pretty good. Seen it?"
Thorn shook her head, "They made a sequel? I need to see that."
"Yep. A few of the old characters make appearances, but it's really a long time in the future," she said. "I was disappointed at first, but it wasn't a bad show or anything."
Thorn nodded, "I'll have to watch it for nostalgia's sake. Do you like any eastern cartoons?"
"As in, anime?" Lana clarified. "Hell yes."
"Yeah, anime," Thorn smiled, "And what's you favorite?"
"Ongoing favorite is My Hero Academia," she replied, "but my favorite of all time is Soul Eater."
