Lillian sobbed, "But I have to."
Lillian sobbed, "But I have to."
"You could always-" Darren stopped himself. "Do you love your mother?"
Lillian's face turned to a scowl, "I-I hate her, but I have to love her. She's my mother."
"What if you never saw her again, would that make you upset?" Darren had an idea, but he would only consider it if he knew for sure that Lillian wouldn't be hurt by it.
"Hell no," Lillian said. She would be grateful after…. Yeah.
"Would you be mad if while I was in the waiting room I called social services?" He said grabbing to hold her hand in case she was mad.
Lillian looked at him in slight disbelief. He called social services? For her? It didn't seem real, "No. Of course not."
(camie died)
(RIP)
"They said that because you are in high school you won't be taken away, but your mom can go to jail for a long time and all you have to do is tell them what happened." Darren looked at her, "Seriously, is this okay with you?"
Lillian smiled and pulled Darren close to her, "It's more than fine. Thank you."
Darren kissed her, "It was nothing,"
Lillian looked at him, "It's not nothing. You have no idea how happy I am."
(And I guess Lloyd just went back to class dragging the crying Nathaniel lmao)
"They said they'll send workers to the hospital soon, and then you tell them what happened and we'll take care of it for you."
(Lol)
(oh hello)
(Lol)
Lillian nodded, "C-Can you stay with me?"
"Yeah," He smiled, "I'll be with you the whole time."
Lillian kissed Darren and smiled, "Thank you."
They waited in the hospital bed until a dark haired man and an official-looking woman entered the room. They knocked lightly on the door, "Can we come in?"
"Yeah come on," He said getting up to shake their hands.
They sat by Lillian and Darren sat on the opposite side of her holding tightly to hand.
"So tell us about what happened for you to end up here in the hospital, Lillian,"
Lillian hesitated. She didn't want to think about last night, but if it got her away. Then gladly. She spoke shakily, "I g-got home and she was waiting. My m-mother locked the door behind me and ordered me into the basement. W-when I got down there I found a-all of my posters gone. S-she had burned them while I was away, then she came down with a belt and a empty wine bottle. M-my m-mom locked the door behind her and told me to get undressed, 'so it would hurt more'. She started using the belt to w-whip me. Once she was b-bored with that she threw the bottle at me back. I-it shattered. And-And-"
Lillian started hyperventilating. What happened next she couldn't say. She-she.
Darren held her hand tighter and gave her a reassuring nod, he really wanted to kill Lillian's mom but her suffering in jail would have to be enough.
Lillian took a deep breath. She looked down and felt her free hand curl into a fist, "S-she took the shards and began cutting words into my back. N-not caring she cut her own hands. Then she u-used the spill blood to s-spell words on my walls in place of the p-posters. She didn't care if I died, s-she was laughing the entire time. S-smiling like it was the best thing in the world. S-she left my in my r-room laughing, w-without even c-checking to s-see if I didn't d-die."
Darren couldn't tell if he was angry or wanted to cry. Probably both.
"Can I see?" one of them asked gesturing to her back.
Lillian nodded, "S-sure."
The social worker carefully pulled her shirt up and tried not to let out a gasp. "Can I talk to you in the hall Mr. Anderson?"
Darren nodded and kissed Lillian before leaving for the hallway.
Lillian sighed and held in her tears. She wouldn't cry. She wouldn't cry.
Darren came back in alone a few minutes later and just stood in the doorway staring at Lillian.
Lillian looked up at Darren, she wondered why he was staring. She said softly, "Is something wrong?"
