“I started to learn at five. I didn’t learn the shifting, shadows and mind reading until I was ten, though.” She warmed her hands on the mug.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“No. The hardest part was flying and… controlling my shift but everyone’s different. The magic part is quite simple, the rest of my years were practising and perfecting”

"Oh, I see. That makes sense." Bernon finished eating and got up to wash his plate. "Well, I'm ready whenever you are, just say the word."
(I'll be slower for a bit and then I'll probably have to get off after that, just so you know)

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Nope, just you. It’s always harder at first becuase you haven’t found that well of power inside you, so that’s your first task. Find that well.” Tanrial sat down on the grass but motioned for him to stay standing and to start.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“That works, or void, it’s whatever.. pit you want it to look like. Once you have it, dive into it, you’ll feel your power from there.” She smiled.

"I'll try…." Bernon squeezed his eyes shut again, pushing away his feelings of awkwardness. It had to be in there somewhere. The old woman had seen it. So all he had to do was find it. He took a deep breath and resolved not to open his eyes until he'd figured this out.
(I gotta go, won't be back until tomorrow. Seeya! ^^)

Tanrial watched quietly, tracking the time to see how long it would take Bernon to figure it out. He had to look deep into his soul to find what he needed, “Look deeper.” She instructed.
(Byeeeee!)

"I'm trying," he mumbled in frustration. Concentrating as hard as he could, he stared at the darkness behind his eyes and tried to see–or maybe feel?–if there was something inside it.
After several minutes, he stared to wonder if he was imagining things. There seemed to be a fuzzy spot in the center of his vision, flickering like a very small star. He tried to "dive into it", as Tanrial had instructed, but it kept shying away from him. So he gave up and just watched it.
It steadied, and began to slowly drift closer. Bernon felt like he was standing on a cliff, and the edge was pulling him in. The vertigo was so strong that he almost opened his eyes, but forced them to stay shut at the last second. Almost there…
And then the light yawned wide and swallowed him. He drew a breath sharply, feeling detached from his body. Now he couldn't open his eyes if he tried. "Tanrial?" His voice sounded faint to his own ears. "I think I did it…… Now what?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Try and focus on the water and lightning first, they will be easier to control, currently. Imagain something like… a ball of water and lightning striking the same spot on your hand, all your focus has to remain on keeping the power there. Once you can feel your power outside your body, try and open your eyes.” Tanrial had sat forward on her legs, but still ready for any explosion that might occur.

@ElderGod-Carrots

(I was talking to one of my friends and he said something weird and I looked up interseting facts came back with that to out weird him…)

(Sure ^^)
Bernon looked at his imaginary hand, and tried to picture it filled with elemental energy. It took a minute, but suddenly there was a fizzle of blue and white light, and he was holding a ball of electrified water that wobbled and spun wildly. Bernon hesitated, mentally gripping the power as firmly as he could, then gently cracked open his eyes.
(idk if something dramatic and violent should happen, is there a high probability of that would you say?)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(It’s possible it could happen, he could lose control and shoot at Tanrial maybe? Idk, you do what feels right)
“Good, that’s good,” She smiled, “Now, try to steady it. Focus on it staying still, like so.” Tanrial mimicked his action with the water, only without the electricity and soon a ball of water was floating above her palm, quite still and only bobbing up and down occasionally.

"I'll try…." Bernon stared at the thrashing glob of power in his hand, still unsure if he was dreaming. Focus, he told himself, and attempted to make the lightning go away so he could calm the water. Unfortunately, the lightning slipped through his fingers like a bar of soap and shot straight up into the sky, causing a deafening roll of thunder to erupt overhead.
Bernon flinched. "Oops. Sorry."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“It’s fine, try to imagine the lightning disappearing and seeing only the water.” Tanrial lowered her magic but made sure to shield the house in case Bernon lost control of the lightning again.
