This is a public school.

Okay then my school.

I live in a pretty rich area, therefore everyone who goes here is rich. But Iḿ not…and Iḿ made fun of for it

Oh, well that's not very nice.

i hate standardized testing. i hate that i am treated like a dog. i hate how my level of 'good behaviour' is addressed by how willingly i listen to my 'elders'. i hate you need math and science to get into art school but not art to get into math. i hate that if i learn a different way, i am seen as stupid. i hate that if i hav social anixeity i am forced to do public speaking, but if i have a broken/sprained ankle, i can sit out of gym.

i love that crying is seen as weak, and that if we find an easier way to do things, we are seen as lazy. i love that if we decide to sleep in on weekends we are lazy. i love that no matter what we do we are at fault. i love that we spend 3 hours staying up at night to make your project as creative as possible but you only get marked on the content. i love that even when most teachers say that they aren't racist, their marking tells a different story. But i am glad that no matter what we stick together. we may not know one another but if someone is being put down or oppressed, we immediately address the situation whether or not we are expected to do so. i love how people say Gen Z is a weak and lazy Generation. No, We are Gen Z and We Are Going To Change The World.

The first time I told my doctor about my depression and anxiety she brushed it off as me being a teenager but now it’s gotten so bad that when I started skipping classes because I didn’t want to talk I front of the class, my school counsellor and principal said to get checked out. I did and the doctor was like why didn’t you come before? Now I need like anti depressants, panic pills, and like 3 more pills. I need to go to a therapist and mental health centre.

That's awful.

You know, most of our generation has stress levels that match those of 1950s mental patients? They pile everything on us, and then wonder why we are either on the Panic Attack Over Wrong Answer side or I've Given Up Side

Ikr same! And they get mad when your like “can I have an extension” their like “no you should have done it in the time span we have” like omg no one gives a poo

But you need an extension because you had so many other ones to do. We can't go to anyone for any sort of help

Like if it was normal why is the mental health rates the same as a mental institute? And when you question they oppressed you with more assignments and such so that you have no damn time to think about anything else

at my school, you have to get a special consideration form if you need an extension, but you have to hand it in like 3 day before. i didnt get an assignment done but couldnt do anything about it because it was too late to get a form when i realised i wouldnt finish it in time

Like how do you know how long editing rewriting, polishing, fixing etc takes. Even with technology at our fingertips, we still require a lot of time

and the worst part about when it was due is that a lot of the people in my class, including me, were a part of the school's musical, which meant late nights, not allowing us to work on stuff

And then they claim you have no right to be stressed, or they claim you really aren't because it affects you differently

The biggest problem with today’s society is that no one takes Gen Z seriously. We have shitty wages, even shittier housing, and when people don’t listen or try to change it, that is the last straw

And a lot of us aren't out of high school :D Which means even MORE STRESS!

We are dismissed, looked down on, and sometimes straight up called the worst generation (Seriously, I've heard it.). And damn it, I'm sick and tired of it. If you want me respecting you, give me a reason to. I'll wait til then
