Ellen lifted the dust covered lid off the box. She set it down and eyed the contents. A friendship bracelet, some envelopes that more then likely contained letters, and some kind of wooden charm. She picked up the charm and inspected it. It looked a bit like a hoolarian griff. She set it back in the box and saw something else at the bottom of the box. Pictures. She lifted them out, setting them down on the floor.
There were 5 pictures. One of a younger Ellis with who she assumed was his parents. He looked about 6. The next one had young Ellis and a spunky looking girl both climbing monkey bars. Another was a slightly fuzzy selfie with the same girl. Both were pulling silly faces. They looked about 12. The next ones was the two of them with several other people. She assumed they were a part of Ellis's crew at one point. The final one was was Ellis, the girl, and another guy. Ellis looked about 15. He had circles under his eyes, and they all looked a little down in the dumps.
Ellen looked up, pondering who the other people in the photos were.
