"It's the injection integrating, I guess. It just hurts like a bitch, it doesn't do anything until we start treatment, whatever that's gonna be." He made her sit down on the bed next to Aliana, walking back into the bathroom to get more water and bandages
(I have to go offline for a bit, sorry!!)
Aliana waved at the new girl. She felt the hum build up in her throat until she couldn't help but hum along. A smile crept back onto her face.
Kaz came back with a cup of water, handing it to Jules before quickly wrapping her neck. He sighed, flopping back onto the bed as soon as he was done
“Oh, this is insane,” Vaughn murmured, running a hand over his face in a stressed manner. He leaned back against a nearby wall, which happened to be the farthest from the new arrivals.
Aliana looked to the other boy, "Sorry for the intrusions. I didn't realize you boys kept getting visitors."
Kaz simply answered with a thumbs up. He was getting tired, and when he was tired, he tended to get grumpy. In order to keep from irritating himself he scooted back until he was next to Vaughn, resting his head on the other boy's shoulder as he stared at the door
“It’s fine,” Vaughn addressed the girl who spoke to him. He turned his head slightly to look at Kaz, exhaling softly as he spoke. “We need to close the door next time..”
Kaz nodded. "Next time we're closing the door and making out for at least an hour to make sure no one shows up," he grumbled, letting his head fall into the crook of Vaughn's neck. He could feel Kaon nudging at his brain, but he was oddly muted for some reason. Instead of talking, he was more causing irritation than anything. Huh
Vaughn gave a brief, silent chuckle, nodding slowly. “Sounds perfect,” he mumbled. He didn’t want to think acknowledge it, but his head had begun to hurt. He breathed out slowly, trying to control the pain he felt.
Aliana stood up, "I'll leave you two later. It was nice meeting you Kaz, Kaon."
She skipped out of the room and back to her own.
Kaz waved at her, but when he tilted his head he noticed that Vaughn's neck had become discolored too. "Hold on babe, I'll go get you some stuff for the coughing," he said, getting up and walking into the bathroom to grab more bandages and water
Once Kaz had noticed that Vaughn wasn’t okay, Vaughn decided of stop fighting against the pain. He coughed sharply, a grimace on his face as his fingers clenched tightly. “Oh god, I feel like I’m going to be sick,” he choked out.
"Hold on!" Kaz called from the bathroom, grabbing the trash can out of the bathroom and jogging back to where Vaughn was. He handed it to him, rubbing his back as he coughed. "It's okay baby, it's okay," he said soothingly
Vaughn kept his head tilted down as he coughed heavily, his breaths shaking. He didn’t get sick like he thought, but he still coughed up a good amount of blood and another strange substance that made him gag. His coughing slowly stopped eventually, and there was still a slight ache in his temples.
Kaz rubbed at Vaughn's back soothingly, a concerned look on his face. "You okay? You want some water?" he asked softly, reaching for the cup of water to offer it to Vaughn
“I’m fine,” Vaughn mumbled, his tone slightly choked. He did nod his head ‘yes’ for the water. There was a terrible taste in his mouth from the substance, and he was sure that it would linger.
Kaz kept rubbing at his back, handing him the water as he reached for the bandages. "I'm gonna put these on you, okay?" he asked softly
“I don’t want them around my neck,” Vaughn murmured, hands shaking slightly as he took a slow sip of the water. He didn’t want to have the bandages around his neck like the strange people who lived there.
"I'll go, see if, what's-his-name is up and maybe," she paused, wincing, "lay down. You two can go back to making out n'all." She picked herself up off the floor and walked back to her room.
Kaz frowned. “C’mon Vaughn, just for today? It helps a lot with the pain and stuff,” he said softly
“I don’t care,” Vaughn spat. He was stubborn as hell at the time. Maybe he would grow out of it. But he was not putting those bandages around his neck.
“Okay, okay. You don’t have to if you don’t want to. Just take some of my painkillers, please?” Kaz asked softly
Vaughn breathed slowly and nodded his head. He got up from the floor shakily, stumbling slightly over to where his bag was. He dug through his bag and eventually found one of the bottles. He dumped a few into his palm before popping them into his mouth and swallowing them dry.
Kaz watched Vaughn carefully, concern in his eyes as he went to get Vaughn more water. He normally wouldn’t care this much about anyone, but something about Vaughn made him want to make sure nothing bad ever happened to him
Vaughn sat down on the edge of his bed, his usually perfect posture slouched. His neck did really hurt, but he wouldn’t wear the bandages. He would have to suck it up and wait for the pain medicine to kick in.
(Casually screams at my service)
Kaz sat down on the bed next to him, handing him the cup of water as he wrapped an arm around Vaughn gently. “You alright?” He asked quietly
“I’m fine,” Vaughn mumbled, glancing down at the cup of water. He took a slow sip, the cool water soothing his aching throat. His free hand moved up to feel at the back of his neck, grimacing softly.
Kaz sat there silently for a moment, one hand taking Vaughn’s gently and rubbing soothing circles into it with his thumb. “I was thinking…you wanna sleep in the same bed tonight? Since that’s like a…couple-y thing people do.”
Vaughn chewed at his lower lip, glancing down in thought. Would he want to do that? If he had a night terror or something, he didn’t want to disturb Kaz. But it could be comforting to have someone else with him… “Let’s do that.”
