It turned out Snowface was out on patrol with Rainshadow, Whitefoot, and Ravenwing. Robinflight offered to go get her but Ashpaw declined, doing so would take to much effort and time. Turning back to the clearing, Ashpaw spotted Frostpaw and Snowpaw talking at the fresh-kill pile.
Ashpaw decided he could just catch up with Frostpaw and Snowpaw while he waited and limped over to them. "Hey guys, how've you been?"
(What are Frost and Snow's genders again?)
(Frost is boy, Snow is girl)
"Training." The two white cats said at once.
(Alrighty)
"Fair enough." He sat down next to the two apprentices. "Well, what all have you done? You'll be warriors soon, won't you?"
"We know, its been sooooo long." Snowpaw sighed, laying her white tail over her paws.
Frostpaw let out a annoyed sigh and looked down at the ground, "Training wise? its all been good, our mentors are really great but sometime it feels like they think we're new apprentices."
"I think Finchsong has put a lot of trust in me." Ashpaw sighed. "It's a bit exhausting, but I've managed thus far. Besides being kitnapped, but whatever. I had no control over that."
"But you do haw Lilypetal, she's like a medicine cat!" Snowpaw put in.
Ashpaw shrugged. "Lilypetal comes in handy, but she mostly knows the basics. And while I appreciate her help, she's certainly no medicine cat. And I have this weird feeling that Finchsong will be different when she returns. And that she'll not be alone."
"She wont be alone on her return home." Frostpaw chirped in as he pulled out a fish from the pile, "She has Oakleaf with her."
"I know, but not just them. I dunno… do you think they'll have brought a tribe cat with them? That would certainly be something."
"That would be cool," Frostpaw though out loud, "I would like that… If it happened of course."
Ashpaw nodded. "I wonder what information she got from Starclan?" He took a small fish from the fresh kill pile.
"Starclan? Really? If she needed info about stuff from Starclan she would go to the Moonshard, not all the way to the mountains!"
"Well, when she went to the Moonshard recently, she got a vision telling her to go the the mountains. I dunno, it must've been important. Maybe Starclan wanted her to encounter the Tribe cats."
"Or they wanted her to exercise." Snowpaw giggled as she took a bite out of a fish.
"Maybe. I've noticed Starclan cats do still like to have fun sometimes."
Frostpaws ears when back as the black cat spoke, "I would have kicked her if she made fun of my mentor." He snorted, getting up and walking away from them.
Ashpaw watched Frostpaw leave, puzzled. "Did I do something wrong? What's up with him?" He asked Snowpaw.
"Uhhh, no, no I don't think so." Snowpaw said quickly, grabbing her fish and darting away.
What did I do? Am I scaring them away? Ashpaw watched the older apprentices leave, confused. However, there wasn't much he could do about it for the time being, so he got up to see whether Snowface had returned.
Sadly Snowface has not returned
( :P )
(Well frick)
As Ashpaw's friends had run away for some unknown reason, he decided to just sit by the camp entrance and wait.
( :/ Welp, here comes…. Idk!)
As the apprentices disappeared into a den, Ashpaw watched as Narrowcloud and Birchstripe talked outside the warriors den. Ashpaws father, Redclaw, was sitting a little ways away from them, listening in on their conversation while his sister, Sheerstream, was watching him carefully through narrow amber eyes.
As this was going on, there came loud splashing from the entrance as cats crossed the swift flowing stream.
Ashpaw's ears pricked up at the sound of splashing. Maybe that's the patrol? It couldn't be Finchsong, it's too soon for her to be back. He stood up expectantly.
(FNIDNGOVNOE no, I will not do IT!!)
Standing up, tail raised but head low, he tried to spot out the patrol, the cats were many and looked like the hunting and border patrol arrived at the same time.
"Snowface?" Ashpaw called out the she cat's name, unable to see her due to the amount of cats and his small stature.
(YES YES >:D YOU FINNALY DID IT)
Immediately a tawny brown tail shot up, Snowface darted out thought the entrance and literally passed Ashpaw up before looking back and seeing him.
"Hello! What's up?" She asked lightheartedly.
(Did what?)
"Er, I was just wondering whether we could insulate the elders' den a little better for leaf bare? Turtlepool is getting old, and the cold really takes a toll on her. I just want to make sure she stays safe and warm."
(Say which cat was coming!)
She nodded then glanced a the incoming cats, "I'll put some cats on that." She said as she turned to Rainshadow and Pondsplash.
"Thank you, Snowface." Ashpaw bowed his head politely before going back to the medicine den and organizing. It suddenly occurred to him how much he organized the herbs. It seemed that Finchsong's neat manner had rubbed off on him.
