ben walked into the apartment. "No man, i wont leave you like this, Lillian told me to take care of you."

When practice ended Darren didnât go to the locker room right away. He instead went up the bleachers by Lillian. âEnjoying yourself up here?â
Lloyd left the bathroom, looking possibly even paler. "I-I don't want to get you sick, tooâŚ"
Lillian smiled. She playfully rolled her eyes, "Eh, I've had better."
"I'm fine man, and I don't think i can catch whatever you've got." Ben said, with a slight grin. "But here, lets put on a movie or something" He pulled out his laptop from his bag.
Lloyd hesitated for a moment before nodding a bit, looking at the laptop with some confusion. He could hear the rain starting up again and his anxiety grew. I hope it's just rain.. not a stormâŚ
âI would be upset but watching practice is really boring. Sorryâ
Lillian shrugged, "Yeah, it's soo fun to watch a bunch of sweaty boys run around a field. It's fine Darren."
"What do you wanna watch?" Ben said, flopping down on the couch and opening up Netflix
âListen I really need to talk to you. Itâs important but not here.â
Lillian nodded, "Got it. Where should I meet you? I assume you want to get out of the uniform."
"Um, I-I don't really know anything about⌠watching, thingsâŚ" Lloyd said awkwardly, sitting down next to Ben. "I only just discovered what a 'television' is recently, at Darren's place."
"Oh yeah⌠sorry, i forgot." Ben scrolled through the movie options. "Well, since youre an angel, do you wanna see a movie about the worlds view on God or something? Or what do you like?"
âYeah. Iâll meet you outside of the lockerroom. We can walk and talk.â
Lillian gave him a kiss on the cheek before heading down the bleachers, "I'll see you there."
"Er, w-whatever you want to watch is fine. If you have a favorite 'movie', o-or somethingâŚ" There was a quiet roll of thunder approaching and Lloyd flinched, trying his best to not react to the storm. I have a feeling it's going to be a rough nightâŚ
âMmhmmâ
He got to the locker room and took off his gear and changed clothes before exiting t locker room and meeting up with Lillian.
"You don't like lightning?" Ben asked, choosing a movie and pulling out headphones.
Lillian looked at him, "Hey, you ready to talk?"
Darren sighed, âI need to quit the musical.â He blurted.
Lillian looked at him, "Your dad?"
Lloyd shook his head, drawing his knees up to his chest and just trying to look at the screen. Perhaps he could ignore the storm that way.
"Here man." Ben said, putting both headphones in Lloyd's ears. "This will drown out the noise. Its going to be ok."
âItâs not like that.â He looked away â I need priorities and the musical doesnât really fit into that.â In reality it was his dad but he didnât want to go there.
"O-OkayâŚ" Lloyd wasn't sure how to feel about the headphones, but Ben said it would drown out the thunder and that was what mattered. He trembled a bit as the thunder shook the walls, but at least some of the sound was muffled.
(Pfffft Darren's a terrible liar. Not as bad as Lloyd tho
Lloyd: throwing up and feeling like death I'm not sick)
Ben watched the movie in silence. This poor kid, I wish I could do something to help. This goes way beyond what i was thinking of when i came to join tech
Darren had looked away from Lillian. She was wondering what kind of tick that was. Nervous? Honesty? Wait lying. Lillian looked at him, "Darren, please don't lie. I thought you chose the musical?"
âWhat is it going to do for my future? Itâs not going to get me a scholarship. It doesnât help meâ
(Rip Ben he just wanted to be a techie and now he's stuck taking care of a sick boi who's afraid of storms and knows nothing about human culture)
Lloyd tried to simultaneously figure out what the movie was and what it was about and ignore the storm. He could see the rain pounding on the windows in his peripheral, and occasionally flashes of lightning. Whenever lightning struck, he couldn't help but remember Sam and shudder.
