Maria was standing at the register, waiting for customers. Two arguing men walked in, one was only a few inches taller than her and had sandy blonde hair and carrying a laptop, the other was at least two whole feet taller than her with jet black hair and appeared to be texting someone.

(noice)
"I told you Sherlock!" John yelled, showing the tall man his laptop screen. "Lestrade wants you to pick one of these cases and he might actually pay us if you do good! So please, just pick one." John said frustrated. He walked up to the counter. "Hi, i'll get a black coffee and errr why not one of those cinnamon things there." He said to the barista.

"And what does your boyfriend want?" she asked the shorter man who had just ordered. (Yet again the "everyone thinks they're gay" moment of awkwardness.)

"I'm not his boyfriend. and I'm not thirsty." Sherlock said irritably. as he and John waited for the drink, they began arguing again

John's face turned red as the barista called Sherlock his boyfriend. "He's um he's um not my boyfriend im not gay." He muttered.

(Sorry I was offline!) "It's nothing to be ashamed of, honestly. I respect your preferences." Maria winked.

She went to start making the short man's coffee. Maria turned up the volume on the radio and began to tap her feet to the cheery tune.

"i'm not ashamed. i'm just NOT his boyfriend" responded sherlock

"If you say so." she smirked. (How will they get on the subject of being flatmates?)

John blushed profusly and grabbed his coffee from the girl. He glared at Sherlock and went to sit down at a table.

Maria sighed. She needed to move out of her parents house but so far none of the options she had were very good.

"so, john, whats the case? dont say we're going to some parlour because a dog knocked over some food again" sherlock asked as he sat down

" Ugh let it go Sherlock that was ONE time! It's (idk what the case should be so….). " John said showing Sherlock his computer screen with the details.

Maria leaned over the counter, interested. "Case? Are you guys like, detectives or something?"

John looked over at the barista. "Um yeah Sherlock here is like a crazy brilliant genius and I write his blog." He said.
