Blake watched the girl go, his expression unreadable. "Fair enough," he said quietly to himself.
You found, when you entered your room, that there was a young man in it, dusting the top of the dresser. He wore neat, formal clothes and had wavy golden hair that fell down to his shoulders. He looked about twenty years old.
"Oh," he said. "I'm sorry, Miss. I didn't realize anyone was staying here."
“It’s fine,” I shook my head. “I’ve only been her a few hours, I think anyway. I’m Maddie,” I said “And you are?”
He turned to face you and dipped his head. "My name is Vin. I work for Mr. Blake. I also donate my life energy to him occasionally."
“You’re life energy? Is that your aura?” I asked
"Yes, I think so." His voice was soft and gentle, and his sensitive grey eyes almost met yours–but not quite as he spoke. "Is that why you're here, too?"
I nodded. “Yeah. Blake want’s me to help him but I’m not so sure,” I sat down. “I also don’t want to let my friends down.”
Vin stood a bit awkwardly by the window. "It's a very valuable service, to give your aura to help change fate. Sometimes Mr. Blake can stop wars, if he has enough of the right kind of energy. I've been a donor for almost a year now." He hesitated. "Surely your friends would be proud, if they knew the good you'd be doing."
“They see it as evil. I’m stuck in the middle.”
Vin looked confused. "Well….I don't think it's evil. Maybe he shouldn't keep people here if they want to leave, but I'm sure that the act itself is good…noble, even." He stared out the window. "I wonder what my friends would have thought. I wonder if I even had any friends….I can't remember anymore."
I looked at him. “You can’t remember if you had friends?”
"No," he replied. "I don't remember anything from before I came here. Mr. Blake tells me that I asked him to remove all my memories because of something terrible that had happened. I wanted to forget."
“Oh. I’m sorry for whatever happened.”
He smiled faintly. "It's all right. It doesn't hurt me anymore." Straightening, he stepped towards the door. "I should probably go now. I hope the right decision comes to you easily, Maddie." So saying, he left, closing the door quietly behind him.
I sat in silence for a while. No. I would not help Blake. I remembered my tracker. It was still there. I forgot to tell Luke it had a mic in it. “Luke, are you there?”
There was a long pause, filled only by the crackling of static. Then there came a louder clatter and a distant voice. "Mads? Holy–where are you? I came back and the place was trashed, Nate was out cold and you were–Are you all right?"
“Luke calm down. I’m fine but Blake has me. He’s trying to convince me to join him, because he doesn’t want to keep me here against me will.”
"Well, screw that, am I right?" His voice cut out for a second, but you suspected he was cursing Blake in colorful terms. "Where are you, can you tell? I'll come help as soon as I figure out what happened to Crash. The stupid mutt's disappeared."
“I don’t know. I was asleep for god knows how long and then I was with Bake in his office, which by the look of things was by a rainforest,” I was slient for a minute. “It’s nearly 6, I have to meet with Blake for dinner, please hurry.”
"A rainforest? Dangit. I'll have to ask around, see if any of the guys I found know where Blake's headquarters are. Just hang in there, I promise I'll come as fast as I can. If he does or says anything you don't like, punch that pompous–static–where it hurts, all right?"
(I have to go in a second, see you a little later)
(Ok, see ya)
“You’re so stupid Luke. Click the grey button on your tracker, you will be able to see me, you, Nate and Crash. Why would I give you a TRACKER if you couldn’t use it!”
(Hooleee. Didn't have time to read it all, can someone summarize?)
(Hey there, long time no see. Luke came back from his meeting with Blake, Blake's a god, they decided to move to a new safehouse, they did, Crash went out hunting, Luke went out to see if he could buy some powerful help with their predicament, a shadow spirit came while they were gone and kidnapped Maddie (and Crash), Maddie's in contact with Luke via radio and they're figuring out how to get back together, and Nathan's currently with Luke, out cold in a non-profit hospital. Sorry, I'm sure he fought valiantly to protect Maddie. XD )
(And now, back to the narrative….we'll figure out how to get your character back in asap)
"Oh." Long pause. "Oh yeah, you're right, I am stupid. Jeez. Hang on." Muffled clicking. "Okay, here's me and Nate, we're at the old people-patching shop for his head…..Wait, what the heck? It says that you're still downtown! And Crash too."
“Well, that’s not far! I don’t know how long Blake will want me but I have to go to dinner with him so try to get here soon.”
"You got it. Stay cool, Mads." There was a click, and then silence.
(jeez i am so sorry I have to go to bed now, goodnight)
(That's okay, seeya tomorrow ^^)
(Bye)
I walked over to the old wooden dresser and picked out a strapless mint green dress. Even though Blake was a psycho, he had good taste. I found a pair of black heels and walked out of my room where one of Blake’s minions escorted me to the dinning hall.
(Lol if Blake could hear her right now he'd be so flattered)
It was Morgan again, a bit more well dressed and lacking any expression. He didn't speak to you, only led you down the stairs to a lovely hall with a long table set for a dozen at its center. Several seats had already been taken by dark-haired young men and women, who barely looked up when you arrived. You saw Vin standing in the corner, ready to wait on anyone who needed him.
Blake was at the head of the table, and he had you sit at his right hand. "Thank you, Morgan. And good evening, Maddie. I hope you enjoy the meal we picked out for you."
I looked down and saw a classic roast dinner in front of me. “Thanks.” I said slowly. I wasn’t really hungry and besides, I didn’t want to eat his food but I took a few bites anyway.
