I woke up to small noise. The girl from before had left, and I didn’t know what time it was. Crash was still asleep but I heard Luke voice from the tracker. “Luke? Thank god. Is Nathan ok?”
I woke up to small noise. The girl from before had left, and I didn’t know what time it was. Crash was still asleep but I heard Luke voice from the tracker. “Luke? Thank god. Is Nathan ok?”
"Yeah, he'll live. We're just outside the fortress of doom, and we're about to head inside. Trouble is, we'll need time to catch our breath once we're in. Don't suppose you could whip us up a little diversion, something to keep Blake from watching the front door?"
Crash woke up as Luke was talking, and listened with renewed light in his eyes. "What's a diversion?"
I looked a Crash. “Something to distract someone while other people do something,” I spoke back into the tracker. “We’ll think of something.”
"Thanks a million. Be careful." Luke turned off the tracker and nodded at Nathan. "Okay, let's do this."
I looked at Crash. “Crash?” I said “Would you… um.. be willing to make Blake believe you want to give him some of your… umm… aura?”
He stared at you. "Why?"
“You don’t have to, of course, but it would distract him long enough. I can distract the guards but I might need to talk to Blake about it first.”
Nathan took a deep breath and stepped forward. He reached out a hand, and it slid easily into the glamour. He imagined Maddie, vulnerable and scarred, floating in the lake, and Crash, confused but always positive. He took another step, and he was immersed. The feeling came immediately: as if boiling oil was cascading down his body, salt and acid running down the burns. His mind was frozen, blank, unreachable. He cried out and fought to maintain the faces in his mind, managing a difficult step forward. He fought against the pull, repeating Maddie and Crash's names, concentrating only on putting one foot in front of the other. The agony was non-stop, but he pushed past it and mercifully, a foot breached the other side of the glamour. He exhaled and breathed in the smoky air on the other side.
He opened his eyes and collapsed to his knees, shaking uncontrollably.
(Mind if I answer Nathan first, then get back to Maddie and Crash?)
(Not at all, go ahead)
(Ok ^^)
Nathan heard Luke flop down next to him, panting. "Oh, man," he said, unsuccessfully trying to think of something more intelligent to say. "Oh man. That very bad." Rolling over painfully, he slowly started to struggle to his feet. "Find….find a hidey-hole fast, yeah?"
(OMG LOL I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD Luke's dialogue is always so on point)
Nathan nodded. "Yeah." He slowly got to his feet and helped Luke up, fighting to stay upright. "Let's search." He took an unsteady step forward and scanned the area. The only close hiding spot was up in a tree. "Bad news," he muttered.
(lol thanks I try XDDD)
Luke growled in disgust. "I hate my life." With enormous effort, he reached up and pulled himself into the lowest branches, scooting over to make room for you. "Hurry, there could be people at the windows."
Nathan hauled himself up onto the branch and hung his head, breathing heavily. "Now we sleep," he groaned, "Right?"
"Ohhh yes." Luke stretched out like an uncomfortable leopard. "Good night."
(Aggh nooo I'm being dragged away :C I'll be back in an hour-ish, sorry guys!!)
(no worries see you later)
(No problem. See ya soon)
(*crawls out from the shadows * I'm baaack! It occurred to me while I was away, now Nathan and Luke need at least four hours of rest before the next thing happens with them. So Crash and Maddie have to kinda take this slow, if that makes any sense. On the other hand, I don't want to leave Amber out for too long…but we'll see. I might go into the process of extracting an aura in more detail, maybe Maddie decides to/is asked to stay and watch to make Crash feel better? Also I need to fake Crash's death somehow, wish me luck. T.T I'm just rambling my thoughts at this point.)
(No that’s completely fine, ramble all you want. I had an idea that Maddie could ask Blake for some training, that why the guards would be outta the way for a while, then Luke and Nathan could sneak in. I don’t know, just a though….)
(Okay. Blake would be glad to supply you with lessons (and opponents). Honestly, aura extraction is a pretty chill process, all you do is just sit there. So how about Crash is nearby in case something bad happens and he needs you, but like separated by a glass wall or something.)
(I'd get it if you need to concentrate on Crash and Maddie for a while. It just to get this going again, I get it ^^)
(Okay, sorry there isn't a proper way to include you on this ^^)
(no worries, I'll follow from the sidelines for the time being)
(Yeah, I think that’s a good idea)
(The other bit I mean)
(Okay, then here I go! One second)
“You don’t have to, of course, but it would distract him long enough. I can distract the guards but I might need to talk to Blake about it first.”
Crash frowned. “Maddie, I asked why. If it’s a good reason, if it gets us out of here, I’ll do it.”
“Don’t worry about it Crash, I have another idea that will distract them.”
"What is it?"
“When I first woke up, I had a meeting with Blake. He said that if I accepted his offer to stay, then he would help train me and my powers. All I have to tell him is, depending on how good the training is, then I might stay. If we start today that gives time for Nate and Luke to get in.”
