Irae shrugged.
"It might be nothing. Aren't we supposed to not think about it?"
Irae shrugged.
"It might be nothing. Aren't we supposed to not think about it?"
“I think not thinking about it is impossible.” Charlie shrugged with a sigh. “But we’re definitely not supposed to look into it.”
"Yeah, we are not." She agreed, looking around the room. She took her cloak off, sitting on the bed and wrapping her tail around to her lap.
Charlie curled around Irae, her tail flicking back and forth. “I wonder if you would even be affected by it.” she murmured. “Not suggesting we test that, but… just a thought.”
"I don't know.. but we aren't testing it."
Irae didn't seem to mind Charlie curling around her.
“Absolutely not.” Charlie nodded. “I don't want you to change.”
Irae nodded slightly, falling silent. She wasn't sure what else to say.
Charlie sighed and looked up at Irae. “You wanna get out of the room and wander around?” she asked. “See if there’s anyone suspicious or looking for Elric or the mirror?”
"Yes. Are we bringing it with or hiding it better in here?" Irae asked, standing.
“Let’s bring it with us.” Charlie nodded. “I doubt anyone knows that we have it so we shouldn't get pickpocketed for it but I don't like the idea of just leaving it here where someone could stumble across it and accidentally use it. Like the innkeeper or a maid or something.” she admitted with a shrug.
Irae nodded. "Seems like a good idea. Its staying at the bottom of one of our bags, though."
“Fair enough.” Charlie agreed. “It's already in my bag anyway. I'll just have to adjust some things.” she commented as she got up.
Irae put her cloak back on, grabbing her own pack.
"Let me know if I can help."
“I got it.” Charlie assured as she picked up her bag and rummaged through it, adjusting the contents to better hide the mirror. “Alright. Let’s explore.” she smiled, adjusting her cloak and slinging her bag over her shoulder.
Irae nodded, opening the door for Charlie. "Let's."
Charlie giggled a little at the chivalrous action, finding it oddly sweet and unexpected from someone of Irae’s status, but quickly pushed those thoughts aside. She took Irae’s hand and walked with her.
(you wanna jump to Elric and Daisy?)
(yeah!)
As soon as they had gotten to the library, Daisy had checked with the curator to make sure she didn't have to leave collateral or pay at all for borrowing books.
The curator assured them that collateral was not necessary, and that there was only a charge to take the books out of the library (or if they damaged a book)… of course, taking notes from the books was completely fine and normal.
Daisy thanked the curator, asking where to find books about medicine and local herbs.
The curator nodded and gave her directions to that section.
Elric asked about the section on magical artifacts and after receiving those directions, he held out his arm for Daisy to escort her through the aisles of books.
Daisy smiled and took his arm, going where the curator had directed.
"Thank you."
“My pleasure.” Elric smiled, walking with her towards the section on medicine and herbs.
When they got to the books, Daisy chose a couple then went with Elric to the artifact books.
Elric pursued the books with a clinical gaze before picking out a few of the more older promising-looking ones.
Daisy glanced them over, then looked around for a place to sit and read.
Elric smiled almost nervously and shrugged when Daisy looked at his books before pointing out an empty table nearby.
Daisy nodded, smiling back and going to the table, setting her books down and starting to read.
Elric smiled back as they approached the table. Sitting next to Daisy, he took the first book in his selection and propped it up so it leaned against the rest as he read it.
Daisy wrote in a small notebook as she read, taking notes on the different medicinal and toxic plants.
