Simon allowed himself to relax as the two held each other. He didn’t want to think too hard as to why Yeong seemed so… obsessed wasn’t the right word, but it was the closest Simon could find to describe the two of them. He took his time with cuddling, the only touch he generally received as far as he knew was touch like this but even then, he still reveled in it. Compared to the surgery, this was heaven.

Eventually though, they had to get up as a staff member was knocking on the door quite frantically. Simon hurried to find any clothes at all, and settled on a plain black t-shirt that obviously fit Yeong better than Simon, and matching sweatpants that fit the same way. Undergarments he found also, though these were more tailored to his size, and he pulled the waist of the pants with the drawstring until they fit in a cinched sort of way.

Yeong had just begun to grown comfortable when knocking sounded on his door. Normally, he would have shooed them away for the time being, but the urgency caught his attention. He didn’t put up a fight when Simon pulled away to get up and change. He stayed where he was for a moment, brown furrowed as he groaned with a slight annoyance.

He got up after a moment, stretching his arms out as he did. He didn’t bother throwing on a shirt, not caring much at the moment. He did take a second to smooth out his messy hair, trying to look a tad more presentable. He threw a glance in Simon’s direction, a smile ghosting his lips at how the other looked wearing his clothing. Not being able to concentrate on that long, though, he unlocked and opened the door to his bedroom. “What is it?” he asked, leaning against the doorframe as he looked down at who had been knocking.

Terror filled the young staff member’s eyes as she stammered out her query. “Sir, we need you and the, uh, Simon, at the conference center immediately. There’s a group of rebels on the outskirts, and…” she paused, rocked on her heels, and continued, “they have something with them. Something dangerous. We don’t know what it is, but it took out a whole squadron of Peacebringers in under five minutes.”

Simon paled at that. He knew, to a degree, that he had abilities. But his memory was foggy on what they were to be used for. This made it all the more clear to him. He was supposed to use them to bring peace, of course he was. But was this a gentle peace? Or one that required a battle? He needed to find out, but by the looks of it, the latter seemed more plausible.

@Desvelarse pets

Yeong listened, his eyes growing a tad wide with disbelief. A whole squad in five minutes? He had no idea what could cause that much damage in such a short amount of time. He swallowed the bit of panic that he felt, knowing he had to keep his shit together. He gave the staff member a smile and nodded his head. “We will be there in just a minute, thank you.”

He shut the door, smile quickly vanishing into someone of frustration. “¡Esos bastardos! he growled, moving to his closet to grab something to change into. He swapped his sweats for a pair of dark toned jeans, and threw on a black compression style shirt, a tattered looking black jacket, and a pair of black combat style boots. “What in the hell could cause that?” he exclaimed, more to himself than to Simon.

Yeong instructed for Simon to follow him as he opened the bedroom door, stepping out into the hall. He walked at a fast pace, wanting to get to the bottom of what was happening immediately. The flirtatious and grinning man was gone by that point, and he held a serious expression on his face now. As unserious as he could be at times, this was something he wouldn’t take lightly. Upon arriving in the conference room, he took a seat at the head of the table, motioning for Simon to take a seat beside him. “Tell me everything, now.

Simon followed along in a demure fashion, feeling a little shaken from the anger of the man who, to all intents and purposes, was his God. He sat down at Yeong’s feet, peering over the edge of the table. The head Peacemakers from each district of the Empire were sitting around the table, with nobody seeming to want to speak first. Eventually though, a gruff Peacemaker General spoke. She seemed shaken to her core, and her voice carried that through the pain within it. “The southern border has been taken, provider Eye. Whatever these rebels have, it’s enough to take over a whole six Districts.” she said. “They’ve been calling it the Spider, Spark of Hope. Not that it’s been doing anything but riling up the people, turning them into dissenters.” she went silent, and another general, an older gentleman, said: “Our Peacemakers have been running. Breaking away from what we’ve drilled into them, or otherwise joining their cause in order to be spared.”

@Desvelarse pets

Yeong frowned as he listened to the two head Peacemakers speak. Something so powerful that it was causing their own ranks to turn against them in order to be spared. That was annoying enough to him. He expected them to stick by their side no matter what, and as far as he was concerned, they were traitors that would gain no mercy from him. “We need to stop whatever this is from pushing forward through the southern border into the other districts. Do we have any sort of visual on this thing? Is it a machine or something else more… living?” he asked the members. It was clear what he meant by living- something like Simon.

“Have they sent any other messages? This is practically a declaration of war,” Yeong continued. “We have to do everything and anything to stop them from pushing forward. Any of those Peacemakers that turned away from us will be considered traitors and defects. They will be treated like the enemy and taken out, understood?”

The woman responded first, Simon noted that she seemed terrified but at least bolder than the others. “No visual. It could be anything for all we know, it destroys our tech the moment the rebels get within a few miles of us. Whatever it is, it seems to be infecting our systems and turning them against us.” she said.

“No messages from those rebel savages either,” she added. “Just bloodshed.”

“Yes sir,” the group responded at the orders, and Simon couldn’t help but think he wasn’t the only one leashed by his Eye. He raised himself up a stretch to see over the table better, and noticed all these people were battered and scarred. Only Yeong seemed untouched by war, and even then, he had his marks.

@Desvelarse pets

Yeong’s jaw clenched tightly, knowing that they were going into this blind. How was he to formulate a plan when they didn’t even know what they were up against? They had to try harder, surely they weren’t trying enough.

“How about a little proposal? Something to get everyone in their spirits and putting out their best work,” Yeong started, clasping his hands together. “Whichever one of your Peacemakers destroys or kills whatever this Spider thing is, they get your position in the district.”

He leaned forwards before he began speaking again, looking around the room. “You may be wondering why that would be fair to put one of you out of a job. Well, that’s because you would have a… promotion of sorts. Whichever one of you is replaced by one of your men will be my second in command. You will gain the highest rank you could possibly receive in this place. You will have proved yourself to be a great leader of your district and deserving of that role.”

He had not made an offer like that before. He had been against having a second in command for quite some time, as he didn’t want to share a shred of his power with anyone. But desperate times called for desperate measures. He had been a second in command to the previous Eye, so being a second in command had its implications- the possibility of being the next Eye.

Simon internally lit up at the thought of this. If he, perhaps, were to prove himself useful… maybe he could gain this rank too? Or was he just a rock in the heel of a shoe, desperate and clingy and, whilst Simon wanted to help, ultimately useless? It hadn’t yet dawned on Simon that any of his abilities of the more… advanced sort, would be helpful here.

Externally though, he grimaced. If any of these idiots were to kill the threat first, they’d be the ones in power. Simon couldn’t have that, no, not at all. He leaned his head up against his God’s thigh, expecting that that at least might comfort himself. Yeong needed someone who was devoted, not power-hungry. Of course he did. Something just told Simon that it made more sense for the Eye not to get murdered in the process of achieving their potential, and helping their citizens along the way. And anyways, if one of these ones was in charge, even to the smallest capacity… it would not end well. Simon just knew, it wouldn’t end well. Unknown to Simon, the young man was experiencing an emotion called “jealousy”, perhaps “possessiveness” as well. All in all, it was a logical train of thought up until it assumed the worst of everyone else there, although maybe that too was logical in its own way.

“Yes, Almighty Eye!” were the resounding affirmations from around the room. All there was to do now was dismiss the generals and allow them to make peace with their gods-specifically, make peace with their idolized version of Yeong-and fight.

@Desvelarse pets

Yeong glanced down at Simon upon feeling the small weight against his thigh. One of his hands left where it rested on the table and combed through Simon’s hair instead. It was like he was stroking a loyal dog that was sat by his side. That was the closest thing to the truth. Simon was loyal to him, most likely to a fault. He was unaware, though, that Simon would have interest in going out to prove himself.

“You’re all dismissed. Get to work- the sooner this shit is over, the better,” Yeong said. As all of the generals began to leave the room, he hung back. He leaned back in his chair with a sigh, now able to properly think. People had been defecting because of whatever the rebels had. Were they losing their influence over the people? He would have to brainstorm some ways to solidify the relationship. The thought of losing the power and position he worked so hard for was too much for him to bare. He glanced over to Simon, head tilted. “What do you think about all this, hm?”

Simon merely shrugged. What did he think? Too much, and too independently. He shouldn’t be thinking like this, it hurt to think like this. He shifted his position to be looking faintly at Yeong, collar of his shirt moved askew and showing the marks that had been left just minutes ago. “What do you want me to think?” that was the safe answer. Be a puppet, don’t take too much initiative. Only when it pleased Yeong should Simon ever dare to speak out, and he wasn’t sure if it would ever be safe to say anything about what he wanted. All he wanted was to keep his lover safe, since they were lovers, and it was only natural.

@Desvelarse pets

Yeong hummed softly, hand leaving Simon’s hair to rest against his cheek. His thumb rubbed against Simon’s jaw in an affectionate sort of way. That was a great question. What did he want Simon to think? Thinking for someone was a responsibility he signed up for when they wiped Simon’s mind, after all. “Well, do you want to help with what’s going on?” he asked. He wouldn’t be able to make Simon his second. While Simon was clearly devoted to him, if something ever happened and his memories started coming back, that could mean serious trouble for Yeong. He doubted it would happen, but a little voice of paranoia was in the back of his mind reminding him of that.

Simon nodded. “I think I do. What can I do to serve you?” he asked, leaning into the touches as he looked doe-eyed up at Yeong. Simon was unsure of everything right now, he knew Yeong’s power should be absolute but clearly, something was standing in the way of that. He kept a brave face, however. Nothing could take away what they had, he was certain of it. Uncertain of many things, but this he understood would allow him to only be brought closer with his God.

@Desvelarse pets

Yeong smiled down at Simon at his willingness to please. It was clear that Simon would do whatever he asked of him, and that was a great asset to have at the time. “Buen chico,” he said in a praising tone, like someone may do to a dog. His hand stayed on Simon’s face as he spoke again.

“You know you’re not normal, right? You can do some, ah…” he paused, humming as he tried to think of what the word may be in english, “inhuman things. Do you remember that?”

Surely Simon had to remember his abilities. If not, that would make this a whole other level of difficult. He would have to help Simon discover and control them all over again, which they didn’t have all the time in the world to do. If Simon did remember, then it would work out perfectly. What better way to fight this super weapon called the spider than with another super weapon.
