(Pfftt)
Tsadi just glares at Calian, then rolls his eyes and stares at the wall.
Daphne stirs and opens her eyes slightly, blinking a lot as she processes her surroundings. She shifts her position and rubs her eyes, then looks around at the others. She looks slightly confused.
(Daphne just like “how tf did I sleep an entire night”)
Calian huffs at Tsadi and walks over to the crates again. They were admittedly curious about what’s in them. They lift open the lid to the top one and peek inside before making a small ”oh” sound and closing it again.
Resh tilts his head at Calian and raises an eyebrow. “Oh?” He glances at Daphne and waves, smiling a little when she gives a tired wave back. Clearly, she’s still trying to wake up fully.
Calian looks over at Resh. “Uh. Anti-krill canisters- Something we probably don’t want to have in Wasteland.” More like not at all. Get found with any of those by a krill and you’re immediately viewed as an enemy or suspected to be one. Calian shakes away the thought and moves away from the crates.
(wheeze)
Resh narrows his eyes. “What-?“ He shakes his head slightly and looks back outside. “We should try to get going soon.” He fidgets a bit and he seems a little antsy.
Daphne yawns and stretches, then tries to stand up a little too quickly. She makes a small ugh sound and leans against the wall, closing her eyes.
(I love unnecessary lore bits)
(Anyway Daphne, mood)
Calian nods at Resh. They almost say something, but then Daphne almost falls down. They look a bit startled, but nothing more than that. "Stand up too fast?"
(Yes)
Daphne looks up at Calian, nodding and huffing a little. “Mhm-“ She rubs her eyes again, then crosses her arms. She looks like a wreck, but that’s not uncommon.
Calian looks at Daphne for another moment before looking at Resh. “Before we do leave, do you still have the map that you had yesterday morning?” They had seen Teth snatch it from Resh and then show it to Cyrus. And they wanted to make sure they were going the right way.
Resh stays silent for a few moments, processing what Calian said. “…Oh- yeah, I do-“ He quickly stands up, then pulls out the map and hands it to Calian.
Calian stares at the map for a second. Whoa. Where the fuck did they get this- Okay, focus. They look over the map for a second before handing it back to Resh. They point to where they all need to go. Little illustrations of boats leading to a coliseum. “This is a shortcut to wasteland. Faster than walking, and hopefully we can avoid patrols on the way there.” They look up at him a bit hopefully.
Resh tilts his head. “Huh. Well, it sounds like it’s better than walking, so I don’t see a problem.” He looks around at the others.
Teth and Tsadi both stand up, and Teth shrugs. “No use in waiting.”
Daphne hesitates for a minute. This is a terrible idea. I’m gonna have to go back home anyway, and I’ll just be back at square one. Except probably worse this time. She covers her face with her hands and groans. Shut up- She looks back up at the others. “Yeah- let’s go.”
Resh looks at Daphne, visibly concerned. “Are you okay?”
Daphne nods. “I’m fine. Let’s just go already-“
(Lmao daphne you’re just going to be permanently kidnapped sorry)
Calian looks at Daphne, not very convinced themselves. Nonetheless they exit the cave, and the wolf stands up and starts following them.
Outside it was snowing… yet again. But it was only a light fall.
(Short response because brain where??)
(Gone. Reduced to atoms.)
Tsadi and Teth both follow after Calian and the wolf. Resh waits for Daphne, then follows behind her and the rest of the group. Teth glares at the sky once she’s outside. “I’m getting real fucking tired of all this snow-“
Calian laughs at Teth. “Maybe you’ll like the sand more.” She’s probably from forest, judging by her name. If the forest exists where they’re from… and if they’re telling the truth.
They’re keeping a fast pace, just enough so everyone can follow without too much difficulty. They’re eager to leave without getting caught by more soldiers.
Teth glares at Calian and huffs. “Shush.” I just hate this cold- how do people survive like this? She wraps her cloak around herself, grumbling.
Resh rolls his eyes at Teth. “Oh, you’ll live.” He couldn’t really say anything, though. He’s equally as dramatic as Teth can be, if not more dramatic.
Calian says something in Manta, mostly to themselves but not bothering to speak it quietly. ”Tourists should bring warmer clothes. Never learn.”
(It’s not like they could plan ahead much,)
Teth looks slightly offended. She can’t understand what exactly Calian had said, but she understands their tone of voice just fine. She shakes her head and starts looking around.
(Brain where,)
(No reaction from Daphne sad /j)
(We can skip to the place uhh soon)
(Oh I’m dumb)
(Anyway great-)
(pokes my head up from a pile of blankets looking very tired oh right reality exists)
The surroundings are pretty much the same as they've always been. A lot of snow, and some snow-covered masses that might be trees. And this continues until they reach another abandoned settlement. One this time that has an activated ancient port with empty stone boats coming and going. Well, mostly empty. There are more of those greyed children from before, and some of them are hopping on and off the boats.
Calian looks at the children curiously as they all get closer to the port. "Good thing the skykids are here. Don't have to activate the port ourselves."
(buries myself under blankets again)
