The man stares at Blaze as she speaks, raising an eyebrow. He stays silent for a while, then speaks. “That would be up for Them to decide.” He turns around, picks up his book, and leaves the room without saying anything else.
(No you don’t get to know what Them is they’re just fucking creepy ok? Ok)
(For all I know he’s breaking the fourth wall and referring to us LMAO)

Blaze smirks.
"So basically, they can't do anything," she murmurs, before turning to the others.
"Well, I have a plan, but I'm sure at least one of you won't like it," she says, glancing over at Salmook.

Daphne looks up at Blaze, tilting her head slightly. She’s still standing close to Tseth, and she’s still wrapped in her wings, but she seems a little less scared now. She grumbles and puts her hand on the back of her head, closing her eyes for a moment.

Salmook bristles, and he can FEEL the danger-lady's gaze on him.
"…Salmook bite your fingers if you keep looking. No look me…"
He sidles away from her.

Salmook huffs at the danger-lady. He's fully inclined to bite, but there's a good chance she'll hit him like an avalanche afterwards. Salmook holds out on that idea for the time being, instead pouting and looking away from her.

"Kid, look. . . if I had any ill will towards you - meaning if I meant to hurt you - I would have done so by now," she says softly.
She kneels.
"Please, at least trust that I will do my best to keep you guys alive."

Salmook snorts.
"They say that all-time. 'Me not going hurt Salmook, me just want to help.' Salmook-friend, and blah-blah-blah."
He's genuinely ticked off by that, and he gestures wildly as he talks, trying to emphasize… something.
"And then!" Salmook raises his arms above his head. "Hurt Salmook even more! No trust in them because they scary!"
"And you scary." He points a grubby finger at her. "So what that mean?"
He's having a full-blown tantrum now, and he adds in a few incomprehensible threats. Something about putting worms in your boots? He's not making sense anymore, yelling every word he knows in a slurred mess of language.
