Resh tilts his head and speeds up a little more, though he’s not going past a jog, because if he does he’ll lose Teth.
Teth starts running after Resh, looking a bit annoyed now but still not complaining. She knows how much Resh likes running.
Tsadi rolls his eyes and jogs after Resh, keeping a steady pace behind him.
The older wolf reaches the bottom first, and the two pups soon after. The second pup to arrive bowls into the first, crashing them both into the snow.
Resh sprints for a bit before reaching the bottom, then skids to a stop at the bottom. He takes a deep breath, then looks back at Teth and Tsadi.
Tsadi reaches the bottom soon after Resh does, and Teth reaches the bottom last. She looks a little tired. “Seriously?”
The pups are distracted, play-fighting each other after the race. They seem to have a lot of energy. The older wolf growls at them, and they quickly stop.
Resh watches the pups, chuckling and shaking his head. He looks around at his surroundings, brushing his hair out of his face.
They’re in the middle of an open field of snow surrounded by trees. And of course, behind them is the mountain. There isn’t any visible path through the woods from here.
Resh blinks a few times, then starts wandering around. Teth waits for a few moments, then follows him. Tsadi looks confused.
One of the pups—presumably the one that was bothering Tsadi earlier—walks up to him. They sit next to him and watch Teth and Resh wander.
Tsadi looks down at the pup, huffs at it, then looks back up at Resh and Teth. “What are you two doing?”
Resh looks at Tsadi and shrugs. “I don’t know. Trying to find another path, I guess-“
One of the wolves on top of the mountain howls for the others. The two pups immediately look up and start running back up the mountain, but the older one stays. They watch the trio.
Resh and Teth continue wandering and looking around, while Tsadi watches them, crossing his arms.
(Tsadi you unhelpful shit)
(I’m making him as unlikable as possible so there’s a higher chance of his demise)
The wolf moves past Teth and Resh, looking back at the three of them before entering the forest.
(oh I can totally kill him)
Teth and Resh both look at the wolf, then start following after it. Tsadi sighs and follows them as well.
(When in doubt: follow animals)
(Yes that is definitely a very smart decision)
The wolf moves through the forest with no discernible pattern to their movements. There’s no visible path, only pine trees and a blanket of snow over the forest floor. Skeletons of bushes without leaves poke through the snow.
The trio continues following the wolf, and Tsadi lags behind a bit. Resh glances back at him and gestures at him to hurry up. Tsadi rolls his eyes and matches Teth and Resh’s pace.
The wolf continues walking ahead, going in a more straight path than before. They look behind to see if the three are still keeping pace.
Resh looks around as he follows the wolf, and he seems a little on edge now. Teth is also looking around, but she isn’t as tense.
Something in the trees rustles up ahead. The wolf stops, looking up at the movement before continuing on. They flick their ears a couple times and speed up their pace.
(no it’s not going to attack them)
Resh immediately looks toward the movement, his eyes widening slightly. He tilts his head, narrows his eyes, and keeps staring in that direction even after they continue moving.
(Resh buddy I could make it a squirrel and you would be scared of a squirrel)
