Neo looked at Floris one last time before raping his arms around Claude and guiding him toward the doors. "If only there was music, we could dance." He said once outside and underneath the darkening sky, the sun just setting.

Floris muttered something under his breath, seemingly coming to his senses when his head hit the fresh air. "Fuckin' hell, I need to go sober up." He grumbled, barely sparing a goodbye wave to the two before going to find his room.

"I can hum something if that's good enough for you," Claude responded, half-joking. It was a nice evening. Balmy, even. Claude tended to run hot, so the chill was just enough to not overheat him, and the sky was looking beautiful, lighting things in a fading glow as it began to set.

"Whatever you want amica mea." Neo said, laying his arms over Claude's neck and pulling him close. The sweet smell of wine and liquor emanating off of his love. He began to sway to a silent song, pulling Claude along with him before leaning into a kiss, softly at first.

Eilwyn downed another drink, feeling slightly tipsy. She refilled her glass, and glanced at the woman in the corner. "What am I doing?" She muttered to herself, "I shouldn't just stand here getting drunk, as tempting as that sounds… I'm gonna go talk to her."

She started forward, then remembered the drink in her hand. Eh, one more couldn't hurt. She took a swig and set the glass on the table, before making her way across the ballroom.

As she got closer, she realized the woman looked quite similar to Claude. Maybe his cousin, or sister? Either way, she was stunning.

Eilwyn approached, hesitating a moment before she spoke. "Hello there. May I ask what you're reading? You seem pretty interested in it."

Véronique glanced over at Eliwyn as she approached, curious eyes tracing the shape of this newcomer. Perhaps she would prove to be interesting. She chuckled lightly at the question, holding up the book for Eliwyn to see, showing off the cover. It was a somewhat popular book, so it was possible that the other woman might have heard of it or even read it. The book itself was an intricate mystery, with lots of different parts to it and many colorful characters as well. Véronique had a passion for mystery and horror novels, adoring the macabre and mystifying.

She smiled slightly, her fangs just showing against her crimson lips as she did so. "I am very interested in it. Personally, I find the first part of any party to be a bit boring," she replied. "Though I'm sure by now someone has stirred up some drama worth watching. Oh, how rude of me not to introduce myself. I'm Lady Véronique Laurent, and you are?"

@PastelTart

"Lady Eilwyn Adfir. It's a pleasure to meet you, Véronique." Eilwyn looked at the book cover, her eyes lighting up as she read the title. "Oh, I've heard of this one! My sister, Penelope, told me about it. It's one of her favorites."

"Is that so?" Véronique asked, eyes lighting up the slightest bit, though she still maintained her aloof expression for the most part. She glanced back down at the cover before setting the book down for the moment and giving her full attention to the woman in front of her. "She has good taste, then. Do you like to read, Eilwyn?"

Neo leaned in closer, pushing Claude up against the wall behind him. His arms traveled down Claude's back, tracing each line in his muscled back until coming to a rest on his hips. Still swaying, Neo forced open Claude's mouth with his own, His head swimming wonderfully.

Claude responded with equal vigor, hands still in Neo's hair for the time being. He kept his fangs at bay for now, the alcohol keeping everything slightly blurry at the edges.

(I had to google what that means, lol)

Eilwyn nodded, feeling a bit more nervous now that Véronique's attention was on her. "Sometimes. It's nice to pretend I'm somewhere else every once in a while." She absentmindedly fiddled with the fabric of her dress, her gaze shifting to a random spot on the wall.

Why did Véronique have to be so pretty? It didn't seem fair that Eilwyn had to get so nervous around her. Guess that 'liquid courage' didn't help much.

Neo guided Claude over to a fainting couch. Sat, and pulled Claude down on top of him. He wrapped his legs around his hips. Everything else disappearing.

(lmao)

Véronique could relate to that. She couldn't say that her life wasn't comfortable, but sometimes she needed a bit more than comfort. Sometimes she wanted to pretend that she was someone else. After all, it seemed that she and Claude were more of an afterthought to her family than anything else, so she liked imagining she was important. Perhaps that was why she acted so haughty and aloof at these gatherings.

Véronique nodded, studying Eilwyn as discreetly as she could. She really was very pretty, though there were many pretty women here. But not many who would just approach her out of nowhere, and she had to admire that much. "I understand," she agreed, giving the faintest ghost of a smile to her companion. "Books can be a nice escape from reality, no?"

Claude put up no objection to this, merely sinking into the comfort of Neo's embrace, tracing a line of kisses down his neck.

Neo looked up, baring his neck to Claude. The first stars twinkling above them. Neo started humming, the soft sound of his voice echoing in the empty balcony.

Claude grinned at the expanse of smooth skin, fangs coming out as he went back in. He was sure that Neo was used to it by now, and he never took much of Neo’s blood, just a small amount. It made him feel a bit closer to someone, and aristocratic vampires never took blood from unwilling victims. No, they could repay anyone they took blood from, whether that was in money or with other means. It was surprising how many people had so little objection to a Claude taking just a little. Though usually Claude vastly preferred Neo to anyone else, since this little routine was a bit intimate. God, Neo was so handsome.
