Ethan rolled up his pants legs and slowly slipped into the river. He clenched his jaw and grinned sheepishly as the cold water consumed his legs. “Well. This is… nice.”

"Oh absolutely." She said, only half-joking. She enjoyed the cold water, but could tell he didn't

He eventually made it to the other end of the river, and he held his hand up to her. “Mind helping me out?”

She reached out and grabbed his hand, gently pulling him out of the cold river. "It's not far from here" She said, looking deeper north into the woods

“It’s kinda creepy here, isn’t it?” He shivered as he looked around. “It’s a bit creepy…”

"I live out here. It was creepy at first, but now it's comforting." She said, walking at a slow enough pace for him to not lose her, and disregarding the second part of his sentence.
