A human goes for a walk in the woods and stumbles across another person. The two befriend each other, and suddenly a wild animal (bear, wolf, something…) attacks them. The mysterious person from the woods charms it and the human discovers the innocent person they met isn't even human. My character will be a bisexual female fairy :) I'm comfortable with gxb and gxg, so it's up to you. Ignore all the world-specific "Rosalind" and "Alfea" stuff, but here she is for reference: Farah Dowling.

@FanfictionFanatic group

Name: Elizabeth Harper
Appearance: Caucasian, dark brown hair, blue eyes, 5’10”, well-toned figure, lightly tanned, slender and athletic mostly from all the training but her height definitely helps define her curves.
Personally: Usually she appears easygoing, somewhat flirty but not as much as she used to be, doesn't really like being in charge but is capable of it, good listener, can be very protective.
Background: Originally she wanted to try for a Bachelor's in computer sciences but ended up with just an Associate’s degree before joining the Marines. She decided to join the Marines because she didn't want to become some forgettable nameless victim and she wanted to protect her family, she also loves doing outdoor activities,
Rank in the Marines: Lt.
Job/Specialities: (I know very little about the Marines.) Scout/Infiltration/Sabotage
Clothes: lately she's taken to wearing more comfortable clothes, usually a t-shirt and jeans.
Hobbies: reading, running, she practiced archery for a while and knows a bit about horses, though lately she's been trying her hand at gardening too.

Elizabeth Harper had been in a fog all day and so far nothing had been able to shake it. Not even the usually calming repetitive motions of taking care of her new garden. She sighed and put on her headphones, turning on some instrumental music by Lindsey Stirling, and went out for a run. So far it was the only thing she hadn't tried but it often did help, even when she lost track of how long she’d be running and not noticing where she ended up.

Farah made her way through the woods at a heightened pace. Her hearing was boosted, just in case. The woods she normally traveled through was full of surrounding dangers. This one, however, seemed to be harmless.

Still, she wasn't very familiar with it, so she was on high alert and jumped at noises even though all her ears detected were squirrels skirting over the dead leaves and birds flitting from tree to tree, chirping as they went. Yet she was still always on guard. It was the way she'd been taught to act.

Suddenly, she heard a noise toward her left. She whipped her head around to see something else moving through the woods. It was a person coming up the trail behind her. After glancing around to make sure the rest of the forest was clear, Farah waited for the person to come across her, unsure of who it was and what danger they could potentially be. Her powers tingled beneath her fingertips, waiting to be unleashed on command.

Elizabeth was hardly showing any signs of tiring yet. All that training… habits like that don't go away easily. Not that she minded. It was part of the reason why she had joined back then. But right now, with the music playing, she was just trying not to let the past catch up with her.

The run itself was soothing but she was still not focused on anything other than moving and the music. It was only because she did so much running that she didn't worry about tripping over anything.

Farah noted the feminine outline as the girl came nearer, and she saw the buds in her ears.

Just a human out for a jog, she thought, ducking down to avoid being seen. Her eyes followed the human’s path as she approached, and for some reason Farah couldn’t identify, she slipped back out of her hiding spot and leaned casually against the bark of a nearby tree.

The unexpected movement caught the corner of Elizabeth's eye and, after being in the field for so long, it wasn't a surprise that she came to a complete stop to get a better look.

She took one pod out but let the music continue as she recognized the fairly standard shape of another person. It was a little odd to run into someone all the way out here but she gave a small nod of acknowledgment in the other's direction, not making any move to get closer or back away.

Farah's lip tugged up a bit in a smirk as the girl stopped and nodded in her direction. She nodded back. "It's dangerous to run by yourself in the woods, isn't it?" she asked, not moving from her standing-reclined position against the tree.

@FanfictionFanatic group

Elizabeth let a wry smirk pull at her lips. “I don't mind a bit of danger.” she quipped before shrugging. “Besides, running with someone else would just slow me down.” she added, crossing her arms casually.

Farah arched an eyebrow. "Oh? Well, you probably should. There's a lot of 'unexpecteds' out here." The girl's second remark made Farah laugh shortly. "Clearly you've never met anybody faster than you before."

@FanfictionFanatic group

“Not since I left the Corps.” Elizabeth shrugged, smirking a little more at the laugh. “Did a lot of running there. But if I run into any of your “unexpecteds” then they better hope that they don't try to surprise me.” she says in a clear warning as her knuckles crack.

That piqued Farah's interest. "You're military?" she asked, her eyes giving the woman a quick once-over. "I'll bet you did." The fairy inclined her head slightly. "That wasn't directed at me, was it? I didn't try to surprise you. I was just standing here."

(Omg, Farah's had specialist (fighting) training, so what if we had them spar later… ;))

@FanfictionFanatic group

“Marines.” Elizabeth corrected as she stood up a little straighter. “No. It wasn't directed at you. Just… Habit, I guess. I’m used to being… Anyway.” she sighed, trying to relax. “It wasn't directed at you.” she repeated.

(oh! I love it!)

@emilyevewrites group

Farah dipped her head slightly. "My apologies. Marines." She pursed her lips a moment, feeling the woman's difficulty with relaxing. "Used to being what, darling?" she asked, crossing her arms and tilting her head back.

@FanfictionFanatic group

Elizabeth shrugged a little. “I don't know if this is the right word but… tense? Over prepared? Especially for combat.” she tried to explain before shaking her head. “Anyway, it doesn't matter what I’m used to. I'm trying to put that behind me.” she said as she figured the other woman wouldn't understand what she was feeling.

@emilyevewrites group

Farah nodded solemnly. "Yes. I understand completely. It's hard to put it behind you, and it takes a lot of effort. But I hope it's worth it for you." She offered a genuine smile, but a hint of sadness lined her eyes. She did understand, that much was clear. And it was something she was still trying to work on too. Her past wasn't behind her yet either.

Elizabeth met the other woman's gaze and smiled softly back. “I hope so too.” she admitted, a little relieved that she hadn't embarrassed herself or fudged up her words too badly. “Ah, I'm sorry. Where are my manners?” she shook her head almost laughing. “I’m Elizabeth. Elizabeth Harper.”
