“I- I should really stay awake with you..” he mumbled
“I- I should really stay awake with you..” he mumbled
Gonta shook his head. There wasn't much of a reason for Shuichi to stay awake, and he didn't want his friend to push himself for some unknown reason. Besides, he didn't mind if the other slept for a while. Even if they were in the middle of hanging out, he really didn't mind. They were just watching a movie, anyway, so it wasn't a big deal.
"No, you should sleep if you're tired…" he stated. "Gonta doesn't want anything bad to happen to you, so please, take care of yourself…"
Shuichi chuckled, leaning against the other
Gonta held Shuichi close to him after he leaned against him. As long as the other got some sleep, then things would be fine. He was relieved that the other was listening to him, all things considered. He knew that his friend had to have been exhausted by then, so he just wanted him to get some sleep.
Shuichi slowly fell asleep against the other, his body lying easily against gonta
Gonta didn't mind that at all. As the night went on, he continued to hold Shuichi close to him, making sure that he was alright. He would protect him from anything, although he didn't think that there would be any risks of danger since they were at the school dorms. Even so, he was still prepared for anything to occur just so he could keep Shuichi comfortably sleeping.
Shuichi eventually tucked himself into gontas neck, moving his whole body into the others lap
Gonta didn't mind that at all. As long as Shuichi was comfortable and sleeping peacefully, nothing else mattered to him at the time. All that really did matter was making sure that the other got some sleep that night. Luckily, it seemed as if Shuichi was sleeping well, so it didn't look like there would be much to worry about.
Shuichi had slept for a bit before another coughing fit came about, this time a few petals had fallen out
Gonta was concerned enough when Shuichi began coughing, but he was more concerned when he noticed the petals that had fallen out. Something was clearly wrong for that to be occurring, but he didn't know what was going on. All that he did know was that there was likely something seriously wrong, but he didn't know what to do about it. In the end, he decided to wake Shuichi up and see what was going on.
"Shuichi…?" he asked softly once he noticed that the other woke up. "Um…you started coughing, but then, um, flower petals came up… That's a bit…strange… Are you alright…?"
“I- 'm fine”
Gonta shook his head. While it was pretty easy to lie to him and get away with it, when he had seen direct evidence showing otherwise, it was rather difficult. He was aware that Shuichi wasn't okay, and he was definitely concerned about the other. He had no idea what was going on, but he wanted his friend to be okay.
"No, you're not…" he sighed. "Please, tell Gonta what's going on…"
“I'm not honestly sure..” he mumbled
Gonta nodded in response. He wasn't sure, either, but he was concerned. He just wondered what was going on with Shuichi since he didn't want to see the other suffer. If he could do anything to help, he was willing to help him out.
Shuichi coughed up a few more petals as his chest started to hurt
Gonta was only more concerned as Shuichi coughed up more petals. He still didn't know what was going on, but it was definitely concerning. The other shouldn't have been coughing up flowers, and that was for certain. Things were definitely wrong.
"Shuichi…what's going on?" he asked. "What's happening to you?"
“I don't know!” shuichi said in a panic, tears pricking at his eyes
Gonta held Shuichi close when he realized how upset he was over this. He didn't want to see the other cry. All he wanted to do was calm him down and ensure that he would be okay. He didn't want anything horrible to happen to the other.
"Shuichi…it's alright…" he whispered softly. "Gonta's here now… Just…breathe, alright…? Don't cry…"
Shuichi kept trying to calm down but it only made the feeling worse, so he just started sobbing
Gonta continued to hold Shuichi close as he sobbed, trying anything that he could to calm him down, but he wasn't entirely sure what to do. He kept whispering reassurances to the other when he could, but he didn't know what to do. He just wanted Shuichi to calm down.
Shuichi was scared for his life. Within the month hed started coughing and puking blood and petals
Gonta had been concerned the longer that things had gone on and the worse that they had gotten. He suggested that Shuichi should go to the hospital multiple times in that month, but he never seemed to listen, which concerned him. He just wanted his friend to get better.
“ gonta I'm sorry..”
Gonta shook his head. There was no need for Shuichi to be sorry, at least in his mind. Whatever was going on was out of his control, so he didn't need to be sorry about it. He was concerned, too, but he was going to help no matter what.
"No need…"
“Yes there is a need because I love you and I have this damned sickness because of it”
Gonta tilted his head in confusion. What Shuichi was saying didn't make any sense to him. How could that be what was causing an illness? Since he had spent so much of his life outside of society, he had never even heard of the disease before.
"That…doesn't make sense…" he sighed. "Shuichi…it's not your fault…"
“ It's some fucked up flower disease, if you love someone and you lock it up then the flowers will take over,. “
Gonta was too focused on his concern to understand much of that, but it seemed to understand enough of it to realize that Shuichi was likely dying. It still didn't make much sense to him, but he was worried that his friend would die.
"Shuichi…you're not gonna die, right…?"
“ I might..”
Gonta wasn't sure how to respond when he heard that Shuichi might die. Honestly, the thought scared him. He didn't want to see one of his best friends die, especially in such a painful way. He didn't know what to do about it, though.
"Um…is there anything that Gonta can do to help…?" he asked.
