"Mm… how old is Samuel?" Nich asked curiously. "Am I the old one here? I'm 21." He laughed softly, picking up his pace to keep up with Ember. She was considerably larger than him in these forms, after all.
"Mm… how old is Samuel?" Nich asked curiously. "Am I the old one here? I'm 21." He laughed softly, picking up his pace to keep up with Ember. She was considerably larger than him in these forms, after all.
"He's about 17 He's an adult but he's a child all at the same time, im about 24 i think i have you beat ." She said with a soft laugh
Nich nodded and laughed as well before yawning. This day had been pretty tiring, what with being caught in a trap, meeting a wolf pack, and having to help Finn out of a pit. "How big is your territory?"
"Ah..well it leads up into those mountains in the north we go there mostly when it's colder hunters come into this area more during winter. "
He nodded again, hoping Ember would slow down a little. His prosthetics made it a little harder to get around that quickly. "That makes sense… do hunters come into your territory often?"
Ember eventually mad her way to the northern trail of the territory and sat down "eh mostly just during the winter because of our fur."
"Ah… that's not legal though, is it? I didn't think people were allowed to hunt wolves for their pelts usually. I guess there's permits and stuff…" He hummed thoughtfully.
"you think the law cares about us? We aren't just wolves we're werewolves they kill us for sport half the time they parade around in our skin as if ti say we are nothing but animals to the slaughter but their wrong."
"Yeah, I suppose so." Nich sighed softly. "I'm lucky my kind is a little less widely known, but people aren't fond of shifters in general. I mean, I like to think I'm pretty civilized, but that doesn't matter to them. I'm still an animal."
"Yeah well let's just say you're not missing anything fun or nothing. Im glad you're kind doesn't have to Deal with the hunters as much. "
"Yeah…" Nich flicked an ear as he quietly followed Ember through the forest. It was a nice day, at least. "It must be exhausting, having so much responsibility. Just dealing with your brothers seems like a lot."
"I mean yeah i guess so i don't mind dealing with them…they've-they've been through a lot and i just want to be here for them I want them to know that as long as I'm around nothing bad will happen..but bad things always happen.."
Nich nodded. "Yeah, I get it. With a past like theirs, it's natural that they're not great at following orders. They might be subconsciously acting out, even. But they're also dumb teenage boys, and I've been there. They'll grow out of being reckless, I'm sure."
Ember nodded almost to herself " sometimes i feel more like their mother than their big sister my father doesn't even talk to them he just yells and im exhausted all the time."
"Yeah… it's probably not helpful for them for your father to be that way with them, either. Angry without looking to remedy the issue." Nich sighed. "And they aren't originally from the pack, so I'm sure they're sort of seen as outsiders from some of the other members."
"It's just tiring thats all, ill get through it, i can't be tired yet im only 24."
Nich laughed softly. "I think we'll be tired forever. That's how the world is."
"Heh, for once in my life though…i just want to let loose and have fun, not have to worry about anything bad happening, ya'know?
"Yeah, I get it. We can't exactly just go out for a fun night on the town or whatever. People would try to kill us."
"Maybe not in the city but……" ember paused looking around a bit "Maybe..we could leave for a couple days i want to venture out and we could go up into the mountains.."
"Yeah, I guess so." Nich hummed, thinking. "Hopefully I'd be able to do that. With the prosthetics, climbing stuff is kinda hard, but I'm willing to try." He shrugged.
"Ah well there's an old abandoned village up there so we can just take the path up its still climbing but not as difficult .."
"That would probably be fine." Nich yawned and stretched. It was getting dark, which wasn't an issue for his vision since he could see fairly well in the dark, but he'd had his prosthetics on for a long time, so his legs were starting to ache.
Ember nodded and turned back to where the pack was there was smoke in a few areas coming up in small steady lines some of the other wolves must have luit the little pit fires they had "Maybe we should wait till tomorrow though it's getting late.."
"Yeah, we should probably wait. I'm pretty tired." Nich noticed the smoke as well and his ears pricked up in alarm, but when he glanced up at Ember, she didn't seem at all bothered by it. "I guess that's normal?"
"Hm? Oh yeah most members of the pack stay outside at night as watch the set little fires around to ward off other animals."
"Alright, that's fine… usually fire in forests isn't good." Nich laughed softly. "We should probably head back."
"Trust me i know that but their stubborn ass omegas, come on lets find you somewhere to sleep for tonight. "
"Sounds good to me." Nich obediently followed Ember back to the pack to look for somewhere to sleep.
"Great i may have you sleep in Samuel's den father doesn't know your staying here yet so ill talk to him tomorrow morning before we leave okay?"
