Ember smirked a little and looked up at him "there's plenty here nobody is going to kill you over it plus I'm not supposed to eat with others anyway so if you weren't here this deer would be mine."

"Eh… I don't want to risk pissing anyone off more than I already have." Nich laughed weakly and shuffled his paws, still looking around. "I don't think they like me being here."

"Well it doesn't matter what they like I'm their alpha and they can get the fuck over it."

Nich turned his ears back a bit and looked down at the ground. "Um… right. Either way, I think it's best if I try to stay in their good graces. I don't want you to earn their resentment for my sake."

Ember chuckled softly "alright do what you want I suppose." She was cleaning herself off as she spoke to him glaring up every so often

Nich only stood again once Ember seemed to be finished. He looked around at the wolves eyeing him from all sides and swallowed nervously. He felt a little better due to Samuel, but he still wasn't 100%.

"Why don't we go somewhere else so that way your not…. Uncomfortable."

"Alright… where do you suggest we go?" Nich asked, moving forward so he could stay closer to Ember.

" Well we could make my rounds make sure they aren't causing trouble." She stood up and started towards the edge of the clearing

"Sure, if you want." Nich followed Ember, keeping his eyes on the other wolves. He couldn't trust them yet, despite Ember's assurances. "Do you do this every day?" He asked.

Embrr slowed her pace so he was next to her "yeah I gotta make sure everyone is safe so I have to make my rounds every day."

Nich nodded a bit, his ears swiveling around at every noise around him. "That makes sense. I guess you have to make sure no one's misbehaving either."

"Yeah but that's mostly my brothers and they don't give me to much trouble. "

"Yeah, I guess so. They seem to hurt themselves a lot. What do they look like when they're in humanoid form?" Nich asked curiously. "Do you spend a lot of time as a wolf?"

She chuckled and nodded her head "well their boys what did you expect? You'd have to see it for yourself the next time we talk to them. And as far as that goes…. I just stay in my wolf from until I leave the clearing when I'm doing my rounds. "

Nich nodded, looking around as he walked. "That's interesting. I spend very little time in this form, to be honest. I'd almost forgotten that I knew how to in the first place." He chuckled softly.

"Well it depends on what situations I'm in and what form is safer for me at that time. "

"I guess that makes sense… it isn't very helpful for me to be like this most of the time, to be honest." As they walked, Nich could hear the sound of of Finn and Teagan fighting getting closer, and then they were quiet.

Ember nodded "we all feel differently about it I suppose I know my father does…. Wait did you hear that? "

"Yeah… I'm assuming them getting quiet isn't a good thing?" Nich asked, looking over in the direction that Finn and Teagan had been roughhousing moments before.

"Well it's definitely not normal, I'm gonna go check on them, you coming?"

"Yeah, sure." Nich followed Ember to where they'd heard Finn and Teagan, a little outside the bounds of the camp. When they arrived, they found only one of them standing there and blankly looking down over the side of a relatively shallow cliff. Upon closer inspection, the other appeared to be lying at the bottom in a humanoid form, but since Nich didn't know them, he didn't know which it was.

Ember walked over to Teagan with a questioning look "Teagan, what happened to your brother where is he? Teagan? "

"Uh… Finn fell." Teagan replied slowly, still looking pretty dumbfounded as though he hadn't quite processed what had happened. "I'm pretty sure he's alive, but we should probably get him?" He looked down again and Finn started to stir down below. He groaned and then yelped, curling in on himself.

"Yeah, I think he's hurt." Nich looked around for a safe way to get down and fetch Finn. He wasn't really familiar with this area, though, since he hadn't ever been here before.

"Shit, Teagan go get Samuel I'm going to stay with Finn" and with that she started climbing down the cliff trying to get to her brother as fast as possible
