(Lmaooo okay)
“Perfectly fine, it went quick and clean. No struggle,” Vaughn simply explained, flicking the radio on but keeping it low as he drove back towards the gas station. As he was stopped at a light, his eyes shifted up towards the bar. He pulled into the lot, sudddenly hanging up the phone as he went inside. A minute or so later, there was a quick knock on Kaz’s front door.
(Oof gotta go now, seeyah)
(oof, see ya) Kaz jumped, almost dropping his phone. He jogged over to the charger cable, plugging it in before walking over to the door. He squinted through the peephole and was amazed to find Vaughn standing just on the other side of the door. How had he even gotten the apartment number? He ran a hand through his tangled hair, and he suddenly realized he looked like a mess. He sighed before unlocking the door. "Uh. Hey."
(Oh wow that was longer than a hour)
“Thought it would be easier to talk in person,” Vaughn responded, glancing inside before looking at Kaz.
(it's alright lol) Kaz stepped to the side, opening the door more. "Well, come in I guess. You want coffee or something?" he asked, trying to remember the proper way to welcome someone to his apartment without sounding like a complete idiot
Vaughn stepped inside, taking in the decor of the room. “No, I’m alright,” he said, before suddenly taking the still bloody butcher knife from his pocket. He looked at it for a second, turning the blade over in his hand before looking at Kaz. “Do you mind if I use your sink?”
Kaz glanced at the knife, a pang of nervousness making its way though him. "Uh. No, not at all. Go ahead man."
Vaughn gave a hum and walked into the kitchen, turning on the sink. He picked up a rag from nearby, coating it in a bit of dish soap. He scrubbed at the blade, cleaning the blood from it until it shined.
Kaz made a quick run to the bathroom, not bothering to even flick the light switch on as he did his best to brush his hair somewhat before popping out and going to sit on the couch. He drummed his fingers against his knee absently, waiting for Vaughn to finish with the sink
Vaughn finished washing the butcher knife, and slid it back into the inside pocket of his suit jacket. He made his way into the living room, leaning against the back of the couch instead of sitting down, hands rested firmly on the back. “Just wake up or something?”
(oof sorry, was helping my grandpa at the store) Kaz looked up at him. "Uh, sort of. I took a power nap a couple minutes ago," he said, smiling a little
Vaughn nodded slowly, looking down at Kaz with the same heavy gaze, eyes grey now instead of brown. “I could tell.”
Kaz gulped. "Uh. Y-You wanna sit down?" he asked, gesturing to the spot on the couch next to him
Vaughn gave a hum in response, walking around the couch and taking a seat on the edge of it. He leaned forward, elbows against his knees. “You have a nice home.”
"Thanks..?" he said, looking around the room. It was a small bit of a mess, really. It really only looked lived in in certain spots, like the coffee table, or the kitchen. Otherwise it was just bad floral wallpaper and a glass wall for the far end of it. There was the odd picture here and there, but they were few and far between. There were band posters however, and paintings that looked like they had been concepts for tattoos when they were created
The room looked nice enough to Vaughn, considering he lived in an abandoned gas station. He glanced down at himself and noticed a bit of flour on the edge of his suit jacket. He brushed it off with a furrowed brow. “You’re welcome,” he murmured.
Kaz sat there, fiddling with his thumbs for a moment. He looked up, remembering he had brownies in the fridge. "Hey, you want some brownies? I got bored and made a tray yesterday and I won't be able to eat them all on my own."
Brownies.. Vaughn hadn’t had those in a long time. Could he trust Kaz enough to have one? He could put something poisonous into the food before giving it to him. “Sure,” Vaughn responded with a shrug. If Kaz did try that, and he found himself having compulsions on the floor or something, then he could always use the knife or his gun on Kaz.
Kaz smiled, hopping up and walking into the kitchen. He leaned down, rummaging through the fridge before pulling a tray out and setting it on the counter. "Have as many as you want," he said before grabbing one and taking a bite out of it
Vaughn pushed to his feet and walked over to the counter. He ran a hand across his jaw as he looked down at the tray. He decided to just take one, so he did, and took a hesitant bite out of it. It tasted pretty amazing, he couldn’t tell if there was any poison.
Kaz smiled a little at Vaughn's reaction. "They're okay, right? I have a tenancy to accidentally burn stuff when I cook, but I don't think I toasted these ones," he said, finishing his brownie and taking another one
“No, these are good,” Vaughn said. He wasn’t dead, so they were good enough. He eventually did finish his, grabbing a napkin from nearby to wipe his hands off on.
"You wanna take some home with you? I won't be able to eat all of them before they go bad," Kaz offered
“Oh, uh, I guess, Vaughn said, running a hand through his hair. He wasn’t sure how to tell Kaz no, that he didn’t really take food from strangers.
Kaz seemed to light up at that. He walked over to one of the drawers, taking a large ziplock bag out of it and walking back over to the brownies. He put half of them in the bag before sealing it and handing it to Vaughn. "Here," he said, smiling widely
Vaughn took it, setting it next to him on the counter. “I’ll make sure to grab it before I leave,” he said.
He nodded. "No problem." He leaned on the counter, resting his head in his hand. "So…What made you drop by? Just bored?" he asked, taking another bite of his brownie
Vaughn shrugged loosely, running a hand over the shorter section of his hair. “Something like that,” he responded. If he was completely honest, he had no idea why he had come. He had nothing else to do at that time, so he had just found his way there.
"Well…Do you want to do something?" Kaz asked, finishing his brownie. "I've got a PS4 if you like video games. Or we can just…watch TV?" he suggested. Truth be told he wasn't used to having people over, so he didn't quite know what to do when someone actually wanted to hang out with him
“I haven’t really played any of those console games before..” Vaughn said. And he was hesitant to watch TV, not wanting to see another news report on his recent activities.
