Raf started whining. He slipped out from under Eyros, letting the boy fall gently. He shifted back, picking up the large hound and carrying him back to the dorm. He laid him in bed, stroking him gently. “What’s wrong, Eyros? Why is your body failing you?”
Eyros just kept letting out whimpers.
And there it was, blood spouting from his mouth. He tore something in his throat
Raf physically screamed. He started to panic. Who do I call? Who do I go to? The medical wing? Maybe.. that sounds like a great option.” He opened Eyros’ mouth slightly, only to see blood guzzle up. “Shit! Alright, come on! You and I are going to get help.” The calm approach was mainly for Raf’s sake.
Eyros whined and pulled his ears back, knowing his father would be here in an instant
Raf scooped up Eyros, the wolf being a bit too heavy for him. He cradled Eyros’ head so he wouldn’t choke on his own blood. Raf slowly exited the dorm room, checking the halls carefully before proceeding to the medical wing. “It’ll be okay, Eyros. I promise you. I won’t let anything happen to you, sweetheart.”
Eyros’s father was running the halls past them. A small broken hourglass in his hand, the black sand different from the white usually in them.
Lucifer didn't even notice them

Raf cradled Eyros, watching this whole fiasco. “Well— that can’t be good. I thought you knock on the wood, Eyros!” He sighed, trying be lighthearted for his anxiety. Raf’s entire body was shaking as he made his way into the medical wing. He started to doubt they could do anything for Eyros. After all, a lot of blood was dripping from his throat.
Eyros had stopped whining at this point, his chest barely moving.
Lucifer was crying as he cradled the broken hourglass. Looking at the name engraved on the wood. ‘eyros’
Raf looked down at Eyros and started to whine. Little tears started to drip onto the wolf’s fur. “You can’t die bitch! You’re not allowed to die!” The werewolf started to curse up a storm. He gently placed Eyros down on the ground, tears coming faster. “You can’t leave me here alone!” Raf didn’t know what to do. His entire body was shaking roughly as he started to preform CPR on the dying wolf. “I thought you couldn’t die!” He relized CPR would be pointless. The blood blocked everything. Raf opened Eyros’ mouth to see what could have torn. Possibly to see what was killing his mate. “If you’re going— then I’m going too.”
Lucifer walked to them “ that's impossible little one..” he said softly
Raf was once again startled, but also sick to his stomach. “Don’t call me little one..” he paused, struggling to catch a breath in between his tears. “Also… WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!” He couldn’t stop his body from shaking. “If this is a test— it’s a horrible one.”
“ it's not and you can thank your aunt” he said, handing the partially fixed hourglass to Raphael. “ hell recover.. I hope..
Raf tried to keep his cool, but his breathing quickened and he let out in ear-splitting banshee like scream. “WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG WITH HER.” His voice quickly grew hoarse. His sat on his knees, still trembling. He felt cold, as if the air had settle around him, but it was just the waft of his shadowy aura.
“ Because I gave her the task of watching you live. And she tried to take my son's life..”
Raf glared at Lucifer. “You may be my soon-to-be father-in-law, but I am not happy with the words that just tumbled out of your mouth.” The shadows started to grow thick around him, and his breathing quickened. “Watching me live? You call all that maltreatment watching me live? I hardly lived! Am I nothing to you?! Sure, Eyros is your son, but I’m his mate! Don’t you think I should get an equal slice in the life category?! They call it son-in-law for a reason.” He clenched his jaw, the trembling getting worse as Raf started to breakdown, tears running down his cheeks. He started to whimper, and then apologize, sitting next to Eyros closely. “It’s stressful..one thing after another.” He rasped, staring at Eyros.
“ I had her watching you flourish now you hound! “ he growled, “ you think that I don't realize it was a mistake! I am losing my son! My real son! His mother died because she sold my own son's soul to me for drugs! “ he faltered “ do you think I'm not pissed at myself for letting my flesh and blood bleed out through his throat! “
Raf held Eyros close to him, petting the wolf on the head. He tried to calm himself down first, the shadowy aura disappearing. “I guess we both we’ve both had really shitty people in our lives—“ he shook his head, regaining his senses while stroking Eyros’ fur. “Maybe we shouldn’t fight over that.. for Eyros’ sake.” He wiped the tears off his cheeks. “I’m losing a mate, you’re losing a son.” He scratched Eyros behind the ears, trying to stop the bleeding with his shadow healing. “Fighting is pointless and I’m sorry I initiated it. I was just— overwhelmed.”
“ It's alright..” Lucifer said
Though the hourglass started to glow, the sand lifted itself and collected in the middle.
Eyros started coughing, jerking up and attempting to make himself coke up the rest of the blood that had clotted in his throat
“If you say so.” Raf stroked Eyros’ head gently hugging him. “Hey! Careful. I don’t want you to end up choking on your own blood.” He adjusted how he held Eyros, making it easier for him to cough up the blood.
By the time eyros was done, he had a good blood bag worth if blood
Raf coddled Eyros, not caring if half of that blood dripped onto him. He was physically stressed and he smelted of distress. Raf took many deep breaths to keep himself contained. “It’ll be okay, Eyros.” He rasped, his voice sounding like a low whisper. He turned to Lucifer. “Is he even safe here?”
“ at most he needs to return to hell but he should be fine for now. “ he said softly
Eyros shifted and wrapped his arms around raf tightly. His body shook like he was cold after every breath left his body
“Then take him back home and I’ll remain here.” Raf soothed Eyros quietly, huddling him. He pressed a kiss against Eyros’s cheek, whispering something to the big puppy. Raf found comfort in his alpha now that he was breathing. His heartbeat started to slow.
“ you can come with him. He needs you..”
Raf leaned his head on Eyros’. “I don’t think I belong there..plus Eyros needs his father rather than me.. I don’t know how to take care of him properly.” He rubbed Eyros’ back, giving him a tight hug.
“ even if you don't take care of him, eyros will become depressed without you, and then it won't be any use trying to help him because he won't help himself”
Raf sighed, lifting his head up. “Fine. For Eyros’ sake.” He ran his finger through the boy’s thick hair. “Everything will be okay.” He whispered to his mate, holding the trembling body closer to him.
“ Just stay with me,” eyros whispered
“I am staying with you.” Raf whispered back, pressing another kiss against Eyros’ forehead. “I’m not going to leave you, Eyros.” His grip on his mate tightened.
Eyros winced with the strain on his throat but still said “ I love you “
