Eve slipped on her shoes and headed into the dining room around the same time her father was walking it

'Alright guys whatever you don't eat put it away in the fridge I gotta go I got called in early, Leo I trust you'll make sure Eve makes it to school on time?"

"Dad we'll be fine I promise just go to work"

Leo saluted Eve's dad, his lips drawn into a tight line, his face serious.
"sir, yes, sir." He bellowed in a low voice.

Once he exited the house, Leo made a face of surprise.
"We have to go back to my house, I forgot my backpack." He stated with a small smile.

Even kissed her dad on the cheek before he left and went to go sit by Leo laughing a little bit at him

Why do you always forget your backpack?! Fine but we have to be fast..like super fast okay?" She was laughing a little bit as she started putting the food away

Leo smiled and headed out the front door, where he came back about 40 seconds later, his black Jansport backpack strung over his shoulder.

"Come on midget," he said palming the top of her head. "Let's start walking, so we can get there earlier."

Even had just finished putting away breakfast when Leo came back and she smiled

"Okay now do you have everything….and would you stop calling me that? I'm not that short!" She laughed a little bit as the headed out the door and started towards the school

Leo skipped ahead, clicking his heels and then beginning to walk normally, he slowed his pace so that he was walking next to Eve.

"I mean, you're shorter than me, that's all that matters." He said with a tight lipped smile.

Eve laughed a little bit "um no just because Im 5'5 does not mean you can call me a midget"

"yes," Leo said grinning "that's exactly what it means."

He started walking backwards and winked at her "it's just the way the world works menina."

Eve shook her head "no it's not Garoto" she laughed a little bit at his wink and tripped him

Leo caught himself in time and pulled a pullover sweater from his bag, it was emerald green and artfully torn, he slipped Eve a wink before pulling it over his head.

"It's always so cold in school." He stated defensively as she looked at him "like they keep the air on full blast, all day."

Eve smirked when he caught himself

Carful you know I'm not gonna catch you, you should watch where you're walking. "

She looked at him like he was crazy when he put on his hoodie and rolled her eyes at his excuse "oh yeah sure"

"whatever." Leo said, rolling his eyes as they walked up to the school and through the front doors.
"Do you want to walk around or go straight to home room?" He asked her curiously.

(My bad I was in class lol)

Eve laughed and shook her head "I don't really want to go to class yet I wanna spend some time with you. "

Leo looked at her doubtfully.
"Okay…" he said, tugging her by the wrist towards the library.

She smiled a little and let him lead her to the library " so are we looking for anything today? '

"nothing specific." He said, heading towards the back and scanning the shelves.
"I'm just looking for a book I'm interested in."

"Oh and what book would that be hm? Maybe I can help you look for it. " she smiled at him warmly as she searched the shelves

"Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets to the Universe." Leo said absentmindedly, scanning the shelves eagerly.

"It's really good, I heard."

"Ah okay well maybe we should ask the librarian? " Eve offered but continued to scan the shelves

"no," Leo blurted loudly, then quieted "I mean, it's basically a gay book, like the main relationship is a same sex one and everyone knows that, and I don't want the librarian to judge me."

Eve laughed a little bit and nodded "okay okay fine. "

Leo blushed and then shook his head slowly.
"Let's just go." He said, turning away from the shelves and walking away.

"Are you sure? We still have like fifteen minutes left.. "

"mhm" Leo said and let go of her wrist. "Let's just go hangout in the courtyard or something…"

"Okay that's fine. "

"do you have any suggestions?" Leo asked her "you just agree with everything I say, it's like you don't have your own personality." He said honestly.

"I mean we can't really go to for away because we don't have a lot of time… And I agree with you because you because we're similar we like the same things, why are you so grumpy? "

"im not." He started, stopping and crossing his arms across his chest. "im just being honest."

"You could suggest anything to me at any time, we barely even talk about important things, you basically just ask me where we're going and then follow me like a lost puppy dog. "
