(Your gonna start learning a little bit more about lexie soon yayy)
Lexie walked home in a bad mood because she had lost her book she made it home within about 15 minutes to get home she opened the door anslsmed it behind her her house wasn't exactly fancy it had more of a soft gentle look to the inside plants here and there bookshelves of course she'd read the books Inside a million times she set her bag down and flopped down on her couch as tears stung her eyes and she clung onto one of her throw pillows
(Oooo yay!!)
Grabbing his phone quickly, in an attempt not to lose his nerve, Mirada enters the number.
Message to: 265-930-4784
Hello. It’s the guy from the library.
Lexie sat up when she heard the chime of her phone she picked it up looking at the message in confusion, 'um hi how did you get my number?'
Mirada rolled his eyes. Dense or naïve, he really couldn’t tell with this one.
uh I have your book?
Lexie lit up jumping off the couch you have it oh my god thank you so much where are you? I'll come get it.
Mirada shook his head as he typed a response. No. I’ll return it, don’t worry. But first, you have to help me with something.
What do you mean I have to help you? you have my property.
yes, ik. But all I need you to do is listen to my offer. You can accept or decline. Either way, you’ll get your book back.
Mirada bite his lip. The poor girl- What was her name again? He consulted the book.
Ah, yes. Lexie.
Poor Lexie.
But he really needed her. And he had leverage.
Lexie shook her head and sighed what exactly is your offer?
Not over text. Let’s meet.
and why exactly should I trust some random guy that took my property and lied about it?
because you have no choice. You want your book back.
He sighs and then sends a second message.
i’m not here to hurt you. We’ll meet in public.
She shook her head and pinched the bridge of her nose fine where are we meeting?
Starbucks. Three hours from now.
okay sure. Lexi shook her head again "what am I doing? "
Mirada nods and puts his phone away.He pulled out a piece of paper.
My dearest Tamar…
She sat her phone down and flopped on the couch rolling her eyes
Mirada sighed as he finished his letter. He sealed it and stuck it in the green hat box with the others. He’d have to go by the cemetery before hitting up Starbucks… the hatbox was getting full.
Lexie decided that after an hour or so she was going to wait at the Starbucks waiting for this mystery man and her book
He couldn’t take the hatbox. Mirada sighed. There was nowhere near enough time. He headed to Starbucks, ordering not his favorite, but what Tamar always used to get.
Lexi was sitting in a window seat reading a book waiting for Mirada to show up she was sipping a cup of coffee as she glanced at the door
Mirada walked in, the hatbox tucked under his arm. He huffed as he sat down at the table *God, she really was beautiful. Up close, she made him ache, and not just with a longing for Tamar.
She looked up from her book seeing him sit down she froze she sat there for a minute before seeking "um… My book where is it? "
He nodded to the closed hatbox.
She just looked at him confusion 'what the hell is this guys problem I just want my book back'
Mirada sighed. "I'm sorry. It's just… well, you happen to be the spitting image of my twin sister. And I need your help. To bring her back."
That brought her attention bring her back what did he mean by that? "You want me to help bring your sister back where is she and how am I supposed to help? "
Mirada shook his head. "Not, uh, literally. It's just… my grandmother raised us. and she, uh, is losing her memories. And she can't remember that Tamar is dead. She keeps asking to see her. So I need you to be her. For a visit."
She was utterly shocked "you want me to pretend to be your sister so you can lie to your grandmother?? '
Mirada sighs. “Not entirely. I’m trying to calm her down. She’s hysterical, she’s never trusted me. She thinks I’ve done something to Tamar.”
