“No. I'm sure there are a lot of people who haven't been to a beach before.” he smiled assuringly. “I bet you've never walked barefoot in the sand then either.”
“No. I'm sure there are a lot of people who haven't been to a beach before.” he smiled assuringly. “I bet you've never walked barefoot in the sand then either.”
"No I haven't. " she said with a smile
“You want to?” he smirked. “It's a great feeling.”
"Sure." She slipped out of her sandals and heald them in her hand
Marcus chuckled and slid off his shoes and socks as well.
"It's really pretty out here tonight. " she looked up at the stars and smiled
“Yeah.” he sighed, looking up at the sky. “You always get more stars out here than further in the city.”
"It's really pretty out here. "
Marcus nodded and walked down by the water, enjoying the soft combination of the wet sand squishing under his bare feet and the refreshing chill of the salty water lapping up to his ankles.
She walked up next to him looking up at the stars again and smiling to herself
“So… Can I ask you a personal question?” he asked to keep a conversation going.
"Yeah sure. " she looked up at him with a soft smile
“Are you… with someone? Back in London, I mean. Is there anyone waiting for you besides your family?”
"Um, no actually….. What about you?
“No currently.” he admitted, shrugging. “I’ve had a few relationships before but… Most of them ended mutually.”
"Oh, well that sucks I'm sorry to hear that I haven't had the greatest luck either. " she chuckled a little bit
“No. It's ok. It's just life.” he said, running his fingers through his hair. “But I'm sorry to hear about you. In the brief time I've known you… You're a very interesting, very pretty young woman. I don't see why you would have a hard time finding a good man.” he admitted.
"I mean it's not that I can't find one I've just never been in the mood for a relationship? I'm not really sure. "
“I get that.” he nodded. “There have definitely been times when I was in the same boat. Needed a break from dating.”
"Well at least you don't think that's weird, most people do. "
“Nah. It seems pretty normal to me.” he admitted. “If it's not working then you can't constantly be looking for new relationships. Sometimes you need time to just be you.”
"Exactly, god it's weird talking to someone that understands me. " she said with a small laugh
“Really? How is it weird?” he smiled, raising a brow as he looked at her.
"No body understands what I go through and no body has the same interests as I do I mean it's nice. "
“Oh! That kind of weird.” he chuckled. “I get that. It's like hearing your thoughts come from someone else. Like they're reading a book you wrote.”
"Yeah it's refreshing to know I'm not the only one that feels this way. "
Marcus smiled softly at her and carefully took her hand. “It is nice to be able to say these things and have someone else understand.” he admitted.
She felt her face skipped worm, unfortunately. He torches. I'm the restaurant Marcus had taken her to weren't there to cover her this time "yeah," she looked at at him her blush showing clearly in the moonlight
Marcus cleared his throat softly, trying to keep his face from getting too red. “Uhh, sorry if this is too forward.” he apologized as he loosened his grip so she could take her hand back if she wanted to.
She gave him a gentle squeeze of his hand with a soft smile "it's okay don't mind" she noticed the blush but didn't say anything she thought it was cute
