“I may have a couple of ideas.” he smirked. “But, I know it's only your first day here, I just don't want to dominate your whole vacation.”
“I may have a couple of ideas.” he smirked. “But, I know it's only your first day here, I just don't want to dominate your whole vacation.”
"Oh don't worry about it my vacation with be fine I assure you. " She smiled at him and then looked out over the ocean completely in awe
“Good.” he smiled back before following her gaze.
"Its beautiful out here… "
“It really is.” he agreed. “Though you should see it from up high at night. When you find a spot where the ocean looks calm and reflects a clear sky… That's one of my favorite views when I can find it.”
"Wow.. Your pretty lucky huh? " she leaned against him without thinking and sighed softly
Marcus’ brows shot up at the surprising gesture but he nodded. “Yeah. I guess I am.” he almost smirked.
(I think I had a stroke when I typed that lol)
"You definitely are I wish I had a view like this back home. "
He chuckled softly, carefully placed his arm around her shoulders. “Yeah. But I've heard that some people take views like this for granted when they see them every day.”
She smiled his gesture "I don't see how they could.. "
“They get used to it, I guess.” he shrugged, a little relieved that she did seem to mind his action. “Me, on the other hand, I love seeing the ocean so often.”
"Don't see how you could get used to a view like this. " she leaned her head back against his chest admiring the small waves in the cool water
“I’m not sure I understand it either. I just know that some people are like that.” he shrugged, looking down at her.
"Well I don't think I could ever be like that with this kind of view… " she tillted her head back and smiled at him
“Me either.” he smiled softly back. “But if you like this… I believe I was going to show you something that not a lot of people get to see.”
"I had almost forgotten about that, what is it? "
Marcus tilted his head slightly and took her hand. “It's kind of a hidden cove thing. It's surrounded by rocks so not everyone can find it. But it's safe. I promise.” he quickly assured.
"Okay I trust you.. " she was intrigued and followed him willingly with a small smile on her face
“It's this way.” he smiled as he lead her further down the beach. Soon the soft sand turned to smooth pebbles under their feet and a couple of large boulders started showing in the water.
Her smile only only got brighter the more they walked giving his hand a soft squeeze out of excitement to see where he was taking her
Marcus felt his face warm at the sweet action but continued to lead until the rocks were very large and all over the beach. “Watch your step around here. There's a lot of tidal pools and I've seen more than a couple crabs who live nearby.” he warned gently.
She nodded her head heeding his warning walking carefully still holding his hand her grip tightening to ensure she wouldn't fall
Almost intuitively, he ran his thumb across her knuckles in response, assuring her that he wouldn't let her fall. He carefully wove around a couple of large rocks until he seemed to disappear.
Her heart nearly skipped a beat at his action and she felt her cheeks get warm as she followed behind him "so what exactly are you showing me? "
He chuckled a little. “You'll see. Give it a minute so your eyes can adjust. It's pretty dark in here at first.” he said with an audible smile. “Stay close. There's water on the right and it gets deep in places.”
She looked around the dark letting her eyes adjust she found his hand again and gripped it "trust me I'm not one to wander around in the dark alone. " she said with a light chuckle
“That's good.” he smiled, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. The cove was still dark but it soon seemed to sparkle with reflections from the water and little pieces of unique rocks along the walls and ceiling.
Maria noticed the shiny rocks and her face instantly lit as she let out a small sound of excitement
“Beautiful, isn't it? Like a hidden universe.” he smiled at her gasp. “At night is the best time to come here. You don't get quite the same effect during the day.”
"I hope you know I collect rock and I'm going to try and steal half of these. " she said joking of course but if she found a small one she might not hesitate to "borrow" it
