Charlotte shrugged again. “I don't know. I've thought about it, where I would go, what I would see… I just never went through with it.” she admitted. “But I love hearing about it from others.”

"Ah, I guess some of us just have a stronger wanderlust than others. Mine is only partially because I want to see the world. The other is that I don't know how to keep myself out of trouble and, well, let's just say I'm not welcome in a lot of places."

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Eh, a little pickpocketing of the wrong people, a little disturbance of the peace too many times, a little accidentally breaking the heart of the rich loyal nobles daughter and that's a pretty good recipe for getting thrown out."

@Elder-God-Jacks347

He gasped in mock offense. "Scoundrel? Me? No no no my darling, I could never! I'm innocent, I tell you! Just a poor unfortunate soul who has lost his way!"

Charlotte covered her mouth with both hands to hold back her laughter as her shoulders shook. Rodney certainly had a flair and it had been a while since she laughed this much. “Well, as long as you don't bring any of that trouble into the inn, I don't really mind if you are a scoundrel or not.” she said once she finally calmed down.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Oh no, of course not. But if the guard comes asking for me, I was never here." He chuckled, sitting back in his chair. He liked watching her laugh. It'd been a while since he'd had the chance to sit down and talk with someone and even longer since he'd last made someone laugh this hard.

“Oh, you flirt!” she exclaimed, turning a bright shade of red. It certainly wasn't the first time a customer had flirted with her and, as long as she worked here, it wouldn't be the last. But normally she was better at coming up with an equally flirty reply.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Ah, of course. What good charmer isn't? Such a travesty, isn't it? Though I must say, of all the ladies I've seen, you turn the most wonderful rose color of them all."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Charlotte sighed and rolled her eyes. “Well, it's been a while since someone complimented me so. I don't normally turn this shade.” she said more calmly. “Perhaps it's your charm that has this effect on me.”

“I’m afraid there's not much to tell.” Charlotte shrugged, fiddling with her bracelet. It seemed like a nervous habit since she had quite a few pieces of jewelry, though this piece was a bit more. “I’m just a local girl who never left the town and I've worked here for ten years. My parents were born here as well. I am an only child however, though I do have a few cousins.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

He laughed, waving her off. "No no, I meant about you. What's your favorite color, favorite food. Where do you wish to visit the most. The interesting things that only you can tell me."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Oh.” she nodded with a soft laugh. “Well, let's see… Actually, I don't really have a favorite color. I like too many of them to choose. Favorite food would have to be strawberries. And I've always wanted to see the ocean.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Ah well, I'm sure you'll find one. Mine has always been orange. The most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen on my travels have always been mainly orange." He shrugged. "But please, go on. I'm sure there's more to learn about you."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Charlotte nodded. “I agree that orange makes a very pretty sunset but I have to say that my favorite sunsets are the ones with a hint of red to them. Though I also love that soft lavender that follows.” she admitted. “What else would you like to know about me?”

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

She gave a thoughtful hum. “Well, as I said, I'm an only child and I've lived here my whole life. Most of my family has, actually. Though I did have a great uncle, or something, who was a messenger so he got to travel all the time.” Charlotte said with a bit more enthusiasm before sighing. “Most of my closer family consider that to be a dangerous occupation. Especially for us.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Oh? How so? You don't seem like the kind of people that have a lot of skeletons in your closet. Unless there's something you're not telling me." He raised an eyebrow with an almost knowing grin.

Charlotte chuckled softly and shook her head. “Skeletons, no. Wings, yes.” she admitted softly as she fiddled with her bracelet again. “It's not something I tell customers because it seems to make things awkward. Being waited on by someone who can fit in their palm. So I guess that makes you my favorite customer so far.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

Rodney contemplated for a minute before it clicked. "You're a fairy? I never would've guessed. All the fairies I've ever met were, well, not exactly friendly."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Really? Well, I can understand them being cautious but that's pretty natural for most of us.” she mused. “But, yes. I am a fairy. I bought this charm so that things would be easier when I got the job here.” she explained, showing him the simple-looking piece of jewelry.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Oh, how pretty. I saw you messing with it earlier but just figured it was a habit or something that had a meaning behind it. I was going to ask but you beat me to it." He chuckled, running his thumb over the bracelet lightly.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

She shrugged slightly. “I guess so. I do fiddle with it when I'm nervous… But I'm not embarrassed about being a fairy. It's just easier to manage a job like this when you're… this height.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Oh, absolutely. So what kind of fairy are you? I know there are different kinds and some are really touchy about being misnamed so I'd rather not be turned into a rock or something."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Charlotte smiled at how understanding he was being. “Well, actually I’m bit of a mix. My mom specializes in plants and my dad… believe it or not, is a fire fairy.” she answered. “But I also know some healing magic too.”
