Jesse looks back to her, now a good yard and a half away from her. She takes a deep breath "It's goodbye only if you want it to be." She pauses "you'll know where to find me" Jesse finishes, turning her back to Elodie once more and walking away.
She hooks her finger around the edge of her bandana as it was tied to her head, pulling back her hair. She loosens it and pulls it off her head, letting hair brown fall down into her face as she walks away. Jesse wraps the green bandana around her wrist and hand. She didn't want to leave Elodie and she didn't want Elodie to leave but it sounded like Elodie didn't want to be around her so Jesse figured she'd let her go. If that's what she wanted.

Cassius nods to her "ill leave you guys then. Call for me if you need anything and if you decide to go outside, let me know please" he says quietly, closing the door.
He lets it click softly and turns to Ophelia, who is holding her dirty spoon in her fisted hand and her bowl had been set on the counter in the kitchen. "Can i have more?" She asks him. Cass nods "sure. But be careful with your spoon going down the stairs" he warns. "wouldn't want you getting hurt"

The girls nodded, and when the door was shut, a sigh of relief passed between them. Were they finally safe, even if it was only for now? It had been a while since they were in a habitable home they could actually stay in. And to find people who were kind enough to let them stay… it felt too good to be true.
Sef set her baseball bat against the wall and went over to Lyn, who had set the backpack on her bed to look through it. Looking back at her amiga, she said, “Oh, do you have the flower she gave you?”
Sef blinked, then brought out the little dandelion from her pocket. Lyn, in turn, got hers out, and took Sef’s. She pressed them together and tied them to one of the zippers on the backpack. ”Ahí la tenemos,” she said. “That way we won’t lose them.”
Sef nodded, grinning faintly. “It’s cute.”

Ophelia turns around and holds the spoon out to Cassius, which he grabs slowly, looking at it and scrunching his nose just a bit.
"what did you do to it?" he asks with a chuckle
"i drew in the mud with it!" she says with a lighthearted giggle before running down the stairs, her curly mess of hair bouncing with every step.
Cass looks at her wide eyed, "you what?" he whispers to himself in disbelief.
how did…..and she ate with this?
He takes a deep breath and makes his way downstairs, looking at the girls' door then heads downstairs. Once down, he makes his way to Ophelia as she was reaching for the soup. "Honey hold on. I'll get it for you." he says, setting the spoon in the sink and looking for a cloth to wipe his hands off with.

After they had settled down, Ophelia was eating her soup in the living room while she watches the fire flicker in the fire place. Her hair had been pulled back into braids once again, matching her fathers hair as well and her eyes were focused on what Cass would only guess was the floor or a small bug on it.
Cass scoops up two servings of soup and heads out of the kitchen. "Ill be back in a second Fia."
She turns around to look at him "Can i help?" she asks
He shakes his head "thank you but I've got it."

Elodie stared as Jesse's back for a few long moments and then turned, rubbing her fingers into her eyelids tiredly. "Fuck" she muttered.
She turned around and began walking towards the door of the building, hoping Gus and the rest of the group wouldnt be to mad she left temporarily.
She tried to open the door but it was bolted shut, so she knocked quietly, wary to attract attention to the sound. She leaned in closer to the door.
"It's Elodie and Jupiter" she said quietly, but loudly enough to hear.

Jesse looks down to the bag of supplies she had stolen for Elodie in her hand. She debated for a little while whether to drop it or not since Elodie still needed it, but she decides if she were staying with them that they would be able to aid to her wounds just fine without it.
So she slings it over her shoulder and makes her way to the apartment, focusing on the soft crunching sound of her boots on the broken pavement, the gravel moving beneath them with every step. The earie quietness around her was a bit unnerving but it wasn't anything she wasn't used to.
She looks up to the sky, the bandana on her hand loosening just a bit when she raises her hand to her face in order to shield her eyes from the sun.
Cold, somber clouds were rolling in, and fast. Soft gushes of wind rolls through what little clothing Jesse wore at the moment, sending shivers throughout her body.
The sun now veiled by the clouds, everything around swiftly becomes dark and humid.
I'd better get back before the storm picks up

(Ophelia probably has a stacked immune system tbh)

Together, they unloaded the backpack. There were only the basics in there anyway, and they kept the stuff like the toilet paper as well as things used for travel in it. Which was most of it. Lyn had an old photo of her father and herself as a young toddler that she brought out, and Sef took their phones, found an outlet, and plugged them in after having to scoot some toys aside.
When they were mostly done, Sef came up to Lyn. “You should rest,” she demanded.
“You should too,” Lyn automatically responded. This was a common exchange they had between them.
“Honestly? I want to take a shower. Wash off or something at least. When’s the last time we took showers?”
“The last time we saw clean, running water that wasn’t in a river or lake, I guess,” Lyn shrugged. She yawned, and Sef immediately pointed at her widened mouth.
“See! You should rest. We have been walking around since sunrise, you carrying the backpack for most of it, and on top of that, estão com Chico.”
Lyn blinked. “Wait, what?”
Sef sighed. “Should I use euphemisms now that we’re going to be around a child for the foreseeable future or will you have the confidence to not get embarrassed if I just say it?”
Lyn figured it out, and laughed. “Oh, well. That’s true.”
Sitting at the end of the bed, Sef motioned for her to do the same. There was genuine concern in her eyes, and she placed a hand on Lyn’s shoulder. “Hey, are you okay? I know we didn’t find any pain meds at the store, but they probably have some here.”
“I’m fine, I promise.” Lyn yawned again, and Sef pulled her close. “I’ll rest, but you have to too at some point.”
“Fair,” Sef chuckled.

(Sorry i didn't mention this before but there's no electricity and this has been going on for two years now. There's now working phones or electricity unless their house is solar powered. Again, sorry. It was my fault for not mentioning this before)

(Also Fia definitely does XD She's probably eaten off of worse without Cass knowing lol)

(this is going to be rather short sorry.)

Cass makes his way up the steps, not trying to be sneaky or anything but his footsteps were more on the silent side.
Once he reaches the top of the stairs he makes a right turn and knocks on the bottom of the door with his foot, as both of his hands were occupied at the moment.
Fia gets up and runs towards the window in the dining room, her nose pressed up against the glass. Her breath was fogging the window up as her big eyes peered out into the foggy void. Her brows crease in worry, looking as the clouds start to roll in. Fia loved the rain but the monsters is what she was worried about.
She looks to the crops in the back as the wind blew their fragile leaves around.
Fia looks to the door, thinking about going outside and protecting the crops. It was tempting for sure and she had no self control when her father wasn't around.

"Y'don't have to lie or pretend around me," Gus said. He didn't want to push Jasper too hard if she didnt feel like talking, but at the same time, he couldn't let her keep thinking that she would be in trouble if she didn't act a certain way. "I won't be disappointed no matter what you say, cuz I ain't got any expectations. Now, I'll drop it if that's what you want. But lemme tell you this: You're always safe and welcome here in my group. I don't care if the others disagree, an' I don't care about this weird power you got. You deserve to have friends 'n food 'n a cozy place t' sleep, always. So don't vanish on me, alright? I promise it'll all turn out okay."

Travis couldn't help rolling his eyes slightly at the fist bump, but he returned it all the same, and his smile never wavered. "Okay, so we're a team now, you and me. This is great! And hey, that idea was just a suggestion. When we make it big in the world, you can do whatever you want with that power." Slinging an arm over Tap's shoulder, he started to walk down the center of the road once more. "But for now…..I guess we'd better keep looking for that store we needed, huh?"

"you…" she cut herself off hesitating to speak after Gus had stopped speaking, she swallowed a lump in her throat. she moved to shake as she really let his words sink in, she moved to stand up from the closet floor leaning against the wall. she made her way to the door, taking a few seconds before she opened it.
she grabbed the handle and pulled the door open looking down.
she moved to look up at Gus and just hugged him close, wrapping her arms around him as tears dripped down her face.
"t-thank you.." she whispered to him holding on tightly.

Evan moved to open the door for elodie, having almost heard the vibrations of the knocking. He rushed over and moved to open it for her, before shutting it behind her and making sure to lock it.
Well after he figured out how to lock it.
He had a bit of a struggle.

Travis couldn't help rolling his eyes slightly at the fist bump, but he returned it all the same, and his smile never wavered. "Okay, so we're a team now, you and me. This is great! And hey, that idea was just a suggestion. When we make it big in the world, you can do whatever you want with that power." Slinging an arm over Tap's shoulder, he started to walk down the center of the road once more. "But for now…..I guess we'd better keep looking for that store we needed, huh?"

Her smile didn't waver either, and it only brightened up as the fist bump was returned by Travis.
"Yeah! Oh- we need a team name." She joked, nudging him with her elbow. She didn't mind him slinging an arm over her shoulder all that much.
"Yeah we probably should ..I hope it has some good stuff."
