Isaac gives Haze a warm smile. "I don't plan on trying that." His breathing slows. He seems tired, which is weird for a demon. His wings demanifests, and he struggles to pull his satchel off of him. He reaches his hand towards Haze's face but draws it back and lays his head on Haze's shoulder. "Can we just stay like this and not continue on the mission?"
“ I thought this is what you wanted? “ he held Isaac, wrapping his arms around the other in a hug
"I do want this. Just not to continue on the mission to fetch the crown. I'd rather live in the woods," Isaac lets out a breathy laugh, "But my boss would probably come after me." He shifts his body to get comfortable, putting his satchel on the ground near his feet. "Sorry I roped you into this. I don't know what I was thinking, but yet, I hadn't learned human emotion," he pauses. "You really taught me something. But now we might have a bigger problem," Isaac stares into the distance, looking at the horizon with weary eyes as he always does. Something seems off.
(Sorry I'm kind of shifting the story we agreed upon. I think it would be interesting if they did go on their intended mission 😅)
Haze kissed his temple “ I'm linked with you now, I'm going to follow you no matter what, it's called love”
"Huh," Isaac huffed. "It's strange. A human following me without me commanding them to. Such a powerful force," he has a mischievous grin. He leans further into Haze's chest. "It's going to be one hell of a ride." The sun dips below the horizon, casting the forest in shadow. A pair of eyes glow in the shadows, watching. Well, if it isn't the consequences of Isaac's actions.
Haze shivered a bit more, tucking into issac” everything feels weird “
Isaac glances around the dark wilderness, and he suddenly shoots straight up. His expression is blank for a few seconds until it's filled with a stone face stare. "Goddamn it," he mutters. He stands up, placing both of his firm on the ground. He picks up his satchel and pulls out his hunting knife. "Remember that I dragged you out on a mission to retrieve a crown? I have broken my promise to retrieve it, and now I'm the one being hunted. This is now life or death. We're now starting on a new adventure of trying not to be murdered," he glanced at haze. "Know any safe place around here? You said you wander around the woods a lot." Isaac's body is stiff, and his voice has an edge to it.
“ yea, follow!” he said. The man moved like the animals in it, swift and completely unheard. He left little to know tracts and knew exactly were he was heading
Isaac treks behind him, choosing his steps very carefully. He keeps looking around, shifting his eyes from the side in paranoia. His footsteps are not completely muffled, startling any animal that was nearby. He held his hunting knife close to his side, his entire body tense. Anxiety and paranoia cloud his eyes.
“ you need to calm” haze said
Isaac’s eyes are unfocused, trained past Haze. He has no idea where they were going, and all he could do was follow. His brow furrows, and his jaw tightens. The knife was placed back in his satchel, but his hands are gripping the strap of his satchel tightly. It looks like he might break it. He snaps back and shakes his head.
“There is no time to be calm,” Isaac’s neck stiffens. His mouth quivers, and he speaks. “one must stay alert with such threats on one’s back. You have to watch your surroundings, listen for unelicited noises.”
“ were here” he said softly, Tucking into a smal ground hut
“Curious,” Isaac follows Haze inside. “Is it safe here?” He’s still bothered by the eyes in the dark. He’s most likely to keep secrets, but there is one best not to be told. He’s still stiff as a board, on edge, and unable to calm his nerves. His eyes are dull and have lost their glow. He glances around hesitantly.
Haze pulled out stone things, things meant for witches. Crystals and herbs “ perfectly “
Isaac looks at Haze with questioning eyes. His eyes narrow. “What are you doing?” He twists his neck to the side, and the bones make a harsh crack. He starts to rub his neck.
“ my mother does this, she taught me, “
“Taught you what?” Isaac crosses his arms and diverts his gaze. His right hand is gripping his left forearm tightly. His jaw is clenched, and all the muscles in his body have stiffened. “What are you? Who are you?” He spits roughly. He’s being quite defensive of himself. He’s situating himself to be ready to deflect a possible attack. A low growl escapes from his throat.
He sighed “ issac, it’s still me, I’m still human.. just not the kind your suppose to be around..”
Isaac strikes out, slamming Haze's hand to the ground. He intertwines his fingers between Haze's and digs his claws into the floor the best he can, hoping to hook them into the ground to keep Haze from pulling his hand back. He gets up close, face to face, and looks Haze straight in the eyes. "I'm not the kind you're supposed to be around—and yet here you are," he sneered. This is the most hostile he's been. Something has triggered him, but what is unknown. It could be because of the nerves flaring in his brain. It could be something else.
Haze was startled, fear racing in his eyes. “ I'm the son of a witch. A second sight.” he whispered, wincing as pain flooded his pinned hand
Isaac presses down harder on Haze's hand. His brow furrows, but his tight-lipped smile is still there. The anger in his eyes is slowly dissipating, although not quick enough. The veins in his neck are still popping out. His nose crinkles as he slowly bares his teeth. "What does a witch like you want with a demon like me?!" Isaac growls. His body relaxes a bit, and his grip on Haze's hand loosens. His fast breathing slows as if he had received a sedative.
“ the same thing I asked for earlier” he huffed.
"For love or safety?" Isaac lets go of Haze's hand, retracting his claws. He gets out of the boy's face and glances down at the ground. His shoulders slump over, and his face becomes hot with realization. He let his anger play him like a puppet. He is still baffled about the many things he's experienced over the past few days. Isaac lets out a little sigh and mumbles. "I fell for a witch. Demons are not supposed to do that." He looks over at the objects Haze had sorted on the ground.
"What are you going to do with all that?" he raises an eyebrow. He opens his satchel and grabs something out of it. "Can you do anything with this sulfur," Isaac pulls it out of the satchel and holds it up. "I don't need it anymore. Along with these holly berries."
“ I can use them yes, thank you,” he said softly, haze put them up before coming back to Issac “ watch your legs,” he said softly before moving to sit in his lap, his legs going around the demon's hips and their faces close to each other. “ I don't hunt demons for the fun of it. I only hunt them if they do something that's complete bullshit. Like the one who killed a hundred people just for fun. For me, you are no different than a man. But my feelings didn't change. The attraction is there, the butterflies you give me when our lips touch or you touch me, it's amazing because I know the feeling but not like this. i love you issac. Nothing will change that”
Isaac's cheeks burn red, and his nose bridge tingles. He blinks rapidly, completely stunned by what he is hearing. No human, let alone a witch, has said I love you. It was odd, and he wasn't sure how his body should react. His stomach exploded into a million paper butterflies, and he thought he might throw up. His mouth twitches, and he kisses Haze on the nose. He leans close to Haze's ear and whispers, "Aren't you afraid I might hurt you? Just like how I let my anxiety turn into anger and lashed out at you—but worse."
“ I'm not scared of the decision I made, nor the troubles I'll face.” he said softly, hazes cheeks burn just as red. He felt his lips brush against Issacs as he spoke in hushed tones. He let his hands fall to guide Issacs to rest on his waist “ are you okay with the fact that I can kill you?”
Isaac puts one hand on Haze's waist, and the other holds Haze's face. He gives him a twisted smile while speaking in a low whisper. "If you try to kill me, I will be prepared to defend myself, chéri." Isaac tightens his hold, putting some pressure on Haze's jaw. His show of how easily he could break one's jaw was nothing compared to the destruction he could cause. "May I remind you, we're the ones being hunted?" Isaac narrows his eyes and raises an eyebrow. "If you knew I was a demon from the start, why didn't you kill me then?" He giggles in a low, sinister tone.
“ God, maybe because you're fucking hot? Or I've had a damn crush on you since we shared a dorm?” he said a little huskily. He lifted his jaw up, “ I've got you in a very bad spot, because I could so one simple thing to cause you so many feelings to flood your senses. Especially since you don't know human feelings.”
Isaac scoffs, "Aren't you bold." he sneered. "Thinking you have power over me. I'm the one with the horns, and you have the neckless I gave you." He laughs at his own schemes. "Don't you have some mystical witchy thing to do?" he straightened his back with the desire to break Haze's jaw. These emotions have fed fire to his confidence and invincible feeling. He decides against breaking his jaw and drops his hand. Isaac reaches over for his satchel and opens it. He fishes out a vial with red liquid in it. Isaac pops off the cork and takes the liquid like a shot. A drop dripped from the vial and fell onto him, almost landing on Haze's leg. Isaac smiles slightly. "That could have been bad. This stuff is acid to humans."
