asra gasped a bit at first, but soon nuzzled into the large wolf
The next morning, Grey gets up, yawns, stretches, then nudges Asra awake, tail wagging to indicate happiness.
asra woke, realizing the wolf had woken him to early before the sun had set again "don't move too much bud, the light hurts.." he mumbled
Gently, Grey takes Asra's hand in his teeth and starts tugging, growling playfully.
" i cant go into the light bud!" he said and pulled back, his weak smile trying to get the wolf to understand
Grey laughs, realizing. Slowly, he tugs a piece of black cloth from the back of the cave, draping it over Asra. He looks at Asra, amused.
" Thanks," he said softly and chuckled " com'er" he said and scratched his ears
Grey growls playfully once more, tugging on the hand again.
" alright alright!" he said and stood " where to?" he said
Grey looks bemused.
Where do you think? his face says.
he chuckled " right, home." he said and lead the way " its a small cabin but im sure you'll manage. we can even share the bed if you'd like."
Grey snorts and shakes his head side to side, like a golden retriever would to dry itself off. He lets go of the hand and bounds out of the cave.
he laughed and lead the wolf to its new home.
as they got there, asra let the wolf make itself at home. he got to letting thumper, the extremely fluffy rabbit out. " go play," he said to it
Grey sniffed around for a while, investigating. Once he saw the rabbit, he looked to Asra for permission to go play.
asra nodded his head " easy, he startles quickly" he said
Grey nods and carefully goes over to Thumper. He investigates him for a moment, then seems to nod. Grey chuckles, then starts chasing after it, the bunny letting him almost catch it before bounding away. Before long, the poor bunny got tired, and Grey gently picked it up and brought it back to Asra, amusement sparking in his eyes.
asra chuckled " thank you," he said and put his forehead onto the wolf " gotta name bud?" he asked as he put thumper up to rest and eat.
asra worked around the house to fix something to eat for him in the wolf, at the time drinking something dark, almost like blood…
Grey looks at his beautiful blue-grey pelt, and snorts as if to say What do you think my name is?
asra has to think for a moment "grey?" he asked rehtorically. he sets down a small bowl of meat scraps and starts cooking some beef in the oven
Grey nods, then goes and devours the meat, looking reproachfully at Asra like Really? You think that'll be enough to keep me from eating Thumper? I'll need more than that.
"I know I know, it's cooking, I just figured you'd want what's left over."
Grey snorts, then lays down and waits until dinner is ready. Over the next few days, he falls into a routine: waking up at sunset instead of sunrise, helping Asra hunt, and stuff like that. Nearly a month later, a stranger comes to the cabin, and Grey sniffs and snarls.
asra pats his neck to calm him and opened the door " hello?" he said politely
Just outside the door was a strange man, cloaked in furs. Grey gets up and stands at the door, shoving Asra out of the way. He shifts with much cracking and tearing of bone and muscle. After a few seconds, Grey stands there, cloaked in his own furs. "Why are you here, Praetor?"
The man, the Praetor, chuckles. "We caught wind of a werewolf living with a vamp and decided to investigate. Not so difficult to track a lone were like you, from a dead pack."
Grey grimaces. "Leave us. This vampire is my friend."
The Praetor shrugs. "Very well."
He leaves, and Grey slams the door, not turning, not wanting to see the look on Asra's face.
asra was surprised. " what the hell did I just witness.." he asked, his voice cracked a bit as his hand reached out to greys shoulder.
Grey speaks haltingly, tensing as Asra touches him. "I- my pack, that is, fell prey to a sickness the day you found me. The last one had died only hours before. That cave was my pack's home. That man, he was a Praetor of Praetor Lupus."
"i.. im so sorry.."
Grey shakes his head sadly. "It's in the past."
He turns now, and his eyes hadn't changed. They were still wolf eyes, silver and luminous as the moon. He wore nothing but his furs and a pair of leather leggings, loosely fitted.
asra flushed a bit and cleared his throat. " I.. ahm- I need to get you some real clothes.."
Grey looks down, and cracks a smile. He flings off his furs, leaving his torso bare.
"Is it distracting?" he asks, making his pecs dance.
