"This pancake is delicious." He hummed in thought and closed his eyes. "Once we get up…I should show you around my side of town. It's fancy or anything, but it's my home." He finished his pancake and leaned on Jas's shoulder. "The only problem is…Do I have to get out of this bed to show you? Honestly, I could stay here forever as long as you're with me. Connor's eyes flickered Jas's jaw to his lips. He took a deep breath and bit his lip. He wondered how someone could look so perfect while just sitting there. He let his hand travel to Jas's cheek. Connor gently turned Jas's face towards him and found himself smiling wider. "Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?" His voice was a light whisper. Jas's seemed to be glowing, but maybe it was just the sun rays. Either way, it didn't stop Connor from looking at them.
"Perfect, Suni. Now we repeat until all the dough is gone. Make sure you don't put them too close together. It might make them expand together. However, this tray should be big enough to hold everything. " He smiled and continued to make the dough. "So, tell me, why did you want to meet with me? I mean, it's just from what Connor has told me you're not the open guy. He said you might not do it, but he didn't tell me why, and even if he did, I would never ask. You seem fine and happy, but that's how I see everyone until proven not." He finished two more balls and placed them on the tray neatly. "So, you don't have to tell me, but I'm just a bit curious why you looked at me and thought, 'Yeah, I'll go see him.'" he chuckled.
Jas nodded with a delighted hum, managing to steal a bite from Connor's pancake. "Sounds good sweetheart. I'd love to see where you grew up. He smiled as he went back to his own plate of waffles. He had never had an insight to Connor's personal life, despite sharing lives together. His home life was always kept a secret from Jas, no matter how many times Jas had begged for Connor to tell him whenever they had their rare moments of not fighting each other. The rare ments Jas dreaded where he'd have to stay and listen to whatever was tormenting Connor. His turned his head, eyes flittering shut momentarily when Connor's hand touched his cheek. "I tend not to pay attention to such flimsy words when they come from anyone else other than my family or you." He murmured, setting aside his breakfast in favor of pulling Connor into his lap. "Was this a happy life for you?" He asked just as softly, opening his eyes and looking at his beloved angel. "I mean before we found each other again?"
Suni nodded, brows furrowed in concentration as he rolled out more buns. He glanced up at the few that he already had on the tray and carefully moved them farther apart. Once he got into the rhythm of cutting, rolling, and placing the dough, he relaxed a bit, ears flicking up at Damion's question. "Oh," he paused and thought for a moment, "I don't really know why. Not in a way where I didn't care but more in a 'why I responded so fast after Connor showed me a picture of you.' kinda a way. I found you interesting. And you seemed nice from what Connor had told me. I havnt really dated much outside my social circle. Most of the guys I've hooked up with aren't great to say the least." He shrugged and slowly went back to the rest of the dough. "I wanted to meet someone who wasn't a complete dirtbag." He offered a soft smile "why did you agree? Surely Connor had told you I'm not necessarily an angel." He rolled his eyes and snickered.
He yelped and giggled when Jas pulled him from his spot. He wasn't complaining; however, Jas was much more comfortable than any bed. "See, the buttermilk pancakes are good. He finished his pancake before beginning to speak. He sighed heavily and frowned. "Not necessarily. But…that is a story for another time. Right now, it's you and me and no space in between us. We're on vacation, not to mention. Do you mind if we save that for another time? I want to show you the good parts, okay?" He wrapped his arms around Jas's waist and nuzzled his head into Jas's neck. "Not to mention we got interrupted earlier; I want a refund," Connor smirked and closed his eyes. He could almost fall back asleep in his arms again. That wouldn't be so bad for him either.
Damion's face flushed a light red at the mention of hooking up with someone. "Huh? Well… Although he tells me that you aren't the best person, he still thinks you're a good person. He sees the good in everyone. Maybe it's just a thing in the agency because I can safely say. Every time I look at you, I don't see someone who's broken or has a criminal record. I see you the way everybody should see you. You're beautiful, you're kind, you're strong, you're cute, and you stand your ground. All of those qualities are some things that should never be cast aside. You are who you are, and if those douchebags who call themselves your partner can't see that, they don't deserve to see your fun side. They don't deserve to see the side of you that will snuggle in a pile of hoddies. They don't get to see the bad parts or the good parts. They don't deserve you. So, I guess I wanted to see for myself. If you were really the criminal, the city says you are or are someone else entirely. I think I found my answer." He smiled towards Suni and finished the last roll.
Jas gently nudged aside the spread of breakfast so that he could lie back and cuddle up with Connor. Jas tucked the other under his chin and pulled the covers over them both. "Yes my love, of course we can wait. Tell me when you're ready." He nuzzled Connor temple and pressed a kiss to his hair. Heanagsd to smile at Connor's comment. "I think it was worth it dear. We got a wonderful breakfast in a wonderful place." Jas glanced down at Connor, a soft smile falling on his lips as he started to lazily rub Connor's back.
Suni scoffed softly as he finished rolling out the last portions of dough. "I'm honestly surprised, considering I did trespass into his home." He fell silent as Damion spoke, a slow blush rising to his cheeks. His immediate reaction was to deny Damion's words. After all,he didn't know suni, not really. This was one date. He surely didn't deserve such beautiful compliments, not for a sly fox like him. He flicked his gaze up, distractingly reaching for the rest of the dough that was not there. I don't deserve you, not even this. He huffed a small laugh and shook his head, letting his hand drop onto the counter. "So what have you concluded, hm? Am I someone you'd be willing to see again?" He dared to asked, holding his breath in fear of the answer. Suni certainly wanted to see Damion again. He wanted to share more with him.
"You're right. Not only did we eat wonderful food in a wonderful place, but I also got to eat it with a wonderful person that I can call my own." Connor concluded. He took a deep breath in as he stretched over Jas. "Just a few more minutes, and then we can get dressed and head out." He kissed Jas's adam's apple and nuzzled his face into the crook of his neck. "Hey, what was Italy like? I know you already told me about some of it, but I want to hear a little bit. It sounds like a wonderful place if you ask me." His body relaxed as he focused on Jas's hand running up and down his back. It felt nice to have someone else with him. Some else to share these beautiful scenes with.
Damion ruffled Suni's hair. "You are definitely worth seeing again." He put the bread into the oven and started to clean up. "How about that hot chocolate?" Damion reminded. "I can show you the thing I wanted to show you next time. At least, I hope there will be the next time. It is getting a little too late. Once the bread is done, we'll have a nice bread and hot chocolate dinner. How does that sound?" Damion took a deep breath in and out and turned towards Suni. "I know you probably get this a lot, and you probably don't want people asking you anymore, but…" Damion's eyes flickered from Suni to his ears. "Just a small touch. I mean, it's okay if you want me to. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then you can tell me know. I've just been wanting to touch them since I met you." He quickly spoke and released his breath once finished with his spree of words.
Jas chuckled slightly as he pressed a kiss to Connor's head. "Always and forever yours, sweetheart." He murmured as he drew patterns on Connor's back, trying his best not to irritate his scar. "From what I remember, it really is beautiful. It's been a few lives but I can still remember the place I grew up in. I used to live in a small village near the coast. It was one of those cozy places where everyone knew everyone else. I would bike to the bakery and butcher shop each morning then I either went to the olive fwilds or down to the coast line to just play all day." He smiled whistfully and glanced down at Connor, "when we go, I'll show you my favorite places. That is if they're still there." He promised.
Suni smiled softly and nodded as he washed his hands.bread and hot chocolate for breakfast sounds great." He laughed softly, finding it a bit funny that this was their first dinner together. He glanced up as he dried his hands on a nearby towel, a rush of blush appearing on his cheeks. "Oh! Uhm…actually no, not many people ask. Most are too weirded out that I have ears." He laughed akwardly, his ears flattening against his head. His smile eased into something more soft when Damion admitted to being intrigued by them since they's met. "Sure, just not to rough." He tilted his head towards Damion and closed his eyes.
Connor repeatedly glided his finger along Jas's jawline up to his ears. "I would love to visit you; I'm sure they're still there. It's not an everyday occurrence that shops close down." He kissed his neck, following the patterns Jas made on his back. "You on a bike seems like a funny image to me. I imagine you using rooftops and recklessly speeding the town. It's nice that you had a town where everybody knows everybody. I had one of those, but that was so long ago I doubt that town even exists anymore." Connor sighed. "Do you ever go back after you start a new life? Like to see your old friend even though they have no idea who you are. I did that once, and then I swore never to let anyone get too close to me. Seeing them living so carefree and young and together, I couldn't even say hi? It…it broke me." Connor explained. "It's why I give a lot of people my glare that tells them to stay away from me."
"I can't imagine why…." He trailed off. Damion made sure his hands were clean before touching Suni's ears. He gasped at how fluffy they were. His hands were gentle, and kids as he didn't want to spook Suni. "Wow, who wouldn't want to touch them. I would every day if you allowed me to." He stood close to Suni to read them. He let his touch linger on Suni's ears before completely disconnecting. "I-I'll go make the hot chocolate. Feel free to sit on the couch or wherever you feel most comfortable. He took the milk from the fridge and poured the liquid equally into two cups. He put one up in the microwave and set it to three minutes. He moved over the cabinet and took out the packets.
Jas nodded his head. “True, they’d probably keep for the history alone. I just worry it’s a tourist trap now instead of the place I grew up in.” He purred deeply and gently nuzzled Connor’s brow in appreciation. He shook his head slightly, eyes growing distant. “No, not for a while now. Since Winston died actually. When I came back, I couldn’t even go back to where we used to live. It all felt too fast. How the world kept going even after he had left. I couldn’t even see his extended family for fearing they’d recognize me. All I would bring was sadness.” He shrugged slightly, toying with the wedding bands at his neck before mentally shaking himself and hugging Connor close. “But who knows. Maybe I’ll go back one day just to see what’s become of our little town. I would really like for you to know my life with Winston, even if he isn’t here anymore.” He offered a small smile as he heavily leaned into Connor’s pets. “So what’s your excuse for giving me all those hat filled looks, hm? Knowing full well I would never leave your side.” He teased, pressing soft kisses to Connor’s wrist.
“You’d be surprised how many people run at the sight of them, especially if they know Kitsune Lore. We’re not entirely known for being lucky or well intentioned.” He huffed a small sigh and allowed himself the moment of bliss. Closing his eyes, leaned into the petting, much like when he was in fox form. “I honestly wouldn’t mind. This feels really nice.” He murmured, glancing up in surprise and a bit of disappointment when Damion backed away. He straightened and nodded, slightly embarrassed for showing such vulnerability to someone he had met the same day. Was he being too open? You don’t usually tell the person you just met about your life in the same day and you definitely don’t shower in their home. With other partners, Suni had tried his best to hide his alternate form as much as he could but with Damion he felt comfortable showing that side. He managed out an ‘okay’ before retreating back to the living room and plopping down on the couch, taking up one of the corners so there was room. He contemplated whether to leave now to save his own feelings or to stay until dinner. Usually he would’ve left long ago, before even reaching the other persons home but this was different, right? This was someone Suni genuinely wanted to get to know, not just a one time thing and be done with it.
"I…I guess I didn't want you to get too close. I didn't know what we were; I didn't know there was someone out there like me. I thought for a while I was the only one who could come back to life afterward. When I saw your life after life, I just…" Connor didn't want to finish his sentence. He was past the point of hate. He didn't want to go back to remembering his unreasonable actions. "Let's say I hated that you were everywhere I was. I hated that you were always there no matter what world, either with powers or no power. At first, I didn't know if I would ever see you again, so I pushed myself away from you. But you are a tenacious one. So, to distract me, I made up this stupid lie to myself that maybe if I finally beat you, I'll go back to normal, but that didn't work. Don't get me wrong, and I'm not complaining at all. I love being with you, and I'm kind of mad at myself I didn't give in sooner." He scoffed. "I know it sounds stupid, so feel free to laugh at me."
"Really? That's dumb. Well, they're missing out. On a lot of things. Like cuddles and comfy sleeping." He stated. "There's no way I would pass up a chance to sleep with you. Seems very comfy." Once he finished both the hot chocolates, he carefully walked over to the couch. He set the mug on the coffee table before sitting down. "Let me know if it's too hot. I can put it into the fridge. it'll be warm, but not cold. I've been cold for a while, so this helps."." Damion poked Suni's temple lightly. "What's going on in that head of yours. You seem a little too deep in thought." Damion turned towards Suni while he sipped his hot chocolate. His legs were half on the couch and half off the couch, but he considered it a very comfortable position.
Jas stayed silent for a few moments, neither smiling nor frowning. No matter what he told himself, it did hurt to hear Connor say that he had truly hated him. Whether it as because of his constant presence or the unknowing nature of who they were and what would become of them in their next lives. Jas understood Connor, in a way. He himself had been nervous about losing Connor in the next life. He head been the only constant throughout their lives. He had admitted to himself long ago that part of his attraction to Connor was the fact that he was always there in every life, but that hadn’t been the reason why Jas had fallen in love with him so many lives ago. It had been the way he spoke, or the way he had always had the innate reaction to help people, even if at times, he couldn’t help himself. Jas had thought it natural when he had first found out that Connor was going to be a hero, and he was glad to fill in the role of the villain, if only to keep Connor close to him, no matter how much heartbreak he had mastered to hide throughout their lives. He huffed a small laugh at being called tenacious. In all honesty, Jas thought that generous for all the times he had stuck to Connor like glue, completely disillusioned by his infatuation to notice how much it bothered Connor. He gently pressed a kiss to Connor’s temple. “Don’t be. I’m sort of glad you gave in now rather than sooner. All those lives gave me time to think and learn from my actions. I don’t think either of us would be happy like this if you gave in before.” He gently tilted Connor’s chin up. “I could never laugh at you for feeling the way you do. Now looking back on it, I can see why you hated me so much. I can’t blame you for doing so, especially if I fed into your fantasy. At the same time, I was feeding into mine, and I truly am sorry I couldn’t see past that to actually talk to you about my feelings or even just talk with you like a normal person would.” He bit his lip and took in a shake breath. “I want this life and all the rest to spent making up the lives we’ve been at each other’s throats. But I understand if, in the next life or even lives after that you want to spend time away from me. To meet new people. To actually date someone you choose, rather than someone you feel obligated to date, even if it doesn’t last an eternity. You deserve that, Connor. And when you feel ready, you know I’ll always be there for you. No matter what.”
Suni jumped slightly and turned his slightly panicked gaze to Damion. “Huh? Oh, yeah I’m so sorry. I ah…” he laughed and took the steaming mug of chocolate. “Yeah I do. This is my first date in a while and I’m just trying to sort things out.” He admitted, touching his upper lip to the surface of chocolate before taking a cautious sip. “Mm, this is really good, thank you.” He murmured, curling up with mug in hand. “This is all a bit fast for me. In a good way though! I really have enjoyed the date and I hope we can go out more. I just never thought someone would be so willing to accept,” he waved a hand to himself. “All this so quickly. Especially considering what I am, and what I do. I half expected you to reject me the moment e saw each other. I was surprised when you continued with the date, even more surprised when you invited me over. Honestly I’m still shocked that you’re so calm about this.” He ducked his head embarrassed and took another sip of the chocolate, pulling away slightly when it burned his lip.
Connor only heard silence and got worried. He was going to say something to lighten up the mood but soon felt lips pressed to his temple. He didn't realize just how right Jas was. It would've been more likely to end faster if he had given in sooner. He wouldn't have learned the life lessons otherwise. It would not be good if Connor had to live every life with his ex. Then he would hate him for a different reason. Connor couldn't stop the heat rising to his cheeks as Jas's delicate touch lifted his chin. "No, no, no, hey, I don't want to see other people. Trust me. I don't think my heart could take that much pain, Jas. Don't say something so scary like that, alright. I'm here with you, and I'm going to stick with you, whether you like it or not. You're the one person I never want to let go of. Not because of some stupid reason like I have no choice. I want to be with you because your persistent ass doesn't know when to give up. I find that insanely attractive, So don't ever say something so stupid like that again, okay?"
"I'm glad it's to your liking." Damion laughed, watching Suni wave his hands. "Well, I guess now you know the world isn't so bad now, is it. After all, I work at an institute of heroes. I've met people with horns and very scary devil faces. Some even walk upside down in a bride. Others wear very questionable clothing. All I'm saying is that there are all types of people in this world. I think that you are the cutest one of them all. I honestly don't understand how anyone can be scared of you. The only thing that can set me off like make me freak out is if you were like a shapeshift and you're actually like a 6-foot tall grown man who could probably murder me. That would be very unfortunate for me." Damion winced light and cupped his cup down. He lifted Suni's chin to see if the burn was bad. "Does it hurt? Do you want ice or anything?" He grazed his thumb over the minor burn on Suni's lips. Damion was too worried to think about how close they were.
Jas sighrd in relief and pressed a gentle kiss to Connor's lips. "How could I not like having you constantly around? Every morning when I fall asleep, every night I go to bed, and any hour in between I wantonit to be spent with you, sweetheart." He murmured just so that Connor could hear, despite being the only ones in their room. He gave warm laugh "so you find my constant naggin and teasing to be attractive? Somhow, I don't think that the message got across back then." He peppered Connor in kisses before slowly pulling back to get a good look at his beloved. "I love you, Connor. I hope you know that." he hlared playfully befofe nodding. "Very well, I won't bring it up again but that is always an option if you ever tire of this kitty."
"m'okay." Suni managed to say as he pulled back slightly from Damaion's touch. It wasn't because he hadn't liked it but it had caught him off guard. He pressed a hand to the one Damion had on his cheek. "Really, I'm okay. You did tell me it was hot." He laughed lightly and closed his eyes for a moment. "I don't think I'm a sixfoot tall man that would murder you. I may be a kitsune but I've never seen anyone be able to do that." He reassured, plopping his head against Damion's shoulder. "Imma stay here for a moment." He murmured. Between the warm shower, the smell of bread wafting through the kitchen, and the taosty hot chocolate, it had suni all cozy and warm
"Well…I would say that, but, sure, whatever you want to think." Connor was mad because it was annoying. He only wanted Jas to stop so he wouldn't get attached to him. He had fun when he was with Jas, whether trying to pound his guts into the floor or seeing him on the street and giving means glares. It was never a dull moment with him, and he liked that. Other people didn't give that effect. Of course, he would never let jas know that." He giggled when Jas kissed him all over. Connor gave a warm smile. He loved the way Jas said his name. No matter what context, it always seemed warm and welcoming. "I-I love you too, Jas." Connor leaned his back into his neck, primarily to hide his blush. "Well, I won't get tired of you. I haven't for a 100 lives, and I won't for a 100 more. However, we should probably get up to have our day together." He tapped Jas's chest to the song stuck in his head.
"I suppose I did tell you that, didn't I?" Damion reaches to grab his cup once more. He sipped at t peacefully. "You'd be surprised." He hummed. Damion watched Suni lay his head on his shoulder. He tensed up slightly, not expecting the warmth. "Be my guest." Damion moved his free arm around Suni to pull him closer. "The bread should be done soon. I think it will taste good. Then you're going to want to make it all the time. You might get sick if you make it that often, but you know what I mean." He relaxed into the cousins of the couch and leaned his head on top of Suni's. He was halfway done with his hot chocolate even though it was still hot. If you're still up for it, I could show you the surprise when I walk you home."
"hm, we probably should but does that mean we will?" Jas sighed heavily and affectionately nuzzled Connor's temple before slowing pulling himself up into a sitting position. "I'm gonna take a quick shower before we leave. You're not allowed to peek this time, alright?" He teased, lightly tapping Connor's nose before he detangled himself from his hero and got out of bed. "Is the place you grew up close by?" Jas asked over his shoulder as he rumaged through the duffle bag of clothes he had brought with him
Suni snickered softly. "It'd be worth it though. Homemade bread tastes great. Besides probably won't be alone in eating all the homemade bread I'll be making. Sasha, Connan and Dad will probably want some too." He blushed slightly st remembering what he would have to face when he got back home. All the questions from his family along with the sappy looks they'd all probably give him. If suninwas being honest, he was excited to tell them all about his date and about Damion. He was looking forward to coming home to excitement instead of lectures on finding yet another scum bag and worried glanced his family shared when he thought he didn't notice. He nuzzled his head against Damion's arm ears flicking up at the mention of surprises. "What kind of surprise?" He asked, turning his innocently curious gaze up to meet Damions.
"I'm never going to live that down, am I?" Connor pulled the nearest pillow and lay on top of it. His arms were neatly tucked behind the pillow just like he would if Jas were there. He looked at Jas, looking through his bag for clothes. He liked the view from the bed. "Huh? Oh, I don't think so. It might be a bit of a drive. We can always get food on the way since we're both going to get hungry. It should be an hour or two-hour-long drive. Of course, I should probably look at the map to get the exact time it will take, but that can wait." The arch of his back caused the blanket to slide down as he rested on his forearms. Connor rested his palm on his cheek, "You sure I can't get a tiny peek? Just a little?" Connor smirked.
Damion's cheeks turned red, and he quickly looked in the opposite direction of Suni. "Don't look at me like that. You've asked me that three times already. A surprise is a surprise. I promise you won't be in any harm." Damion sips more of the hot chocolate from his cup. It was very tasty and for the relaxing aura of the room. However, his heartbeat didn't get the memo. It was constantly beating out of control. Maybe because Suni was laying so close to him. He's laid this close with many people but somehow it felt different. It felt warm and safe and honestly, he never wanted to leave this space with Suni. He would have to go home eventually. "Is it bad that I don't want you to go? I don't want this date to end. I want to show you so many more things and show you me, but I know that will have to be saved for another time. You're just so warm and safe that I don't want you to leave my arms. Is that a bad thing?"
"no, not for a long while." Jas replied with a grin. He found a light t-shirt and jeans at the bottom of his bag. "So not too far but a nice drive through the area." Jas reasoned, sitting down beside Connor and leaning down to press a kiss his head. "I can't wait. And food on the way definitely sounds great." He stood from the bed with his clothes and arched a challenging eyebrow at Connor. "How much more do you want to see, my love? Is not having a shirt on not enough for you?" He laughed softly and pressed a sweet kiss to Connor's lips. "I think you got enough of a peek last time. I'm not sure you can handle anymore." He taunted with a grin, gently pulling back and heading towards the bathroom. "I'll be out in a few minutes." He called over his shoulder, giving Connor one last longing look before dissapearing inside and shutting the door behind him.
Suni gave a long, annoyed whine but eventually dropped his head back onto Damion's arm. "Fine, I'll stop asking." He pouted childishly, testing his hot chocolate again and taking an eager sip, deeming it just cool enough not to burn hima anymore. He welcomed the warmth it brought, needing something distract from the fact that he was cuddled up with Damion. More than that, to distract himself from just how much he liked it. He glanced up and shook his head slightly. "No, I don't think any of that is a bad thing. "He replied softly. "I…" He bit his lip, contemplating whether if admitting his desires now would cause him regret. He shoook his head quickly, "I want that too. I want to stay…but I can't. As much as I love spending time with you and as much as I really want this to work, I also want to do things right. I want to take our time and I need to organize my thought about all this before we see each other again." He explained softly. "I'd feel better knowing we left off on a good note, and excitedly await our next dates than wake up tomorrow in your bed and feel any amount of shame or regret." He looked away for a moment before taking a deep breath. "You can show me anything you wish next time, and any time you want after that. And I'll show you some things too. Who knows, maybe I'll throw in a few surprises." He teased, gently nudging Damion's shoulder. "I'm glad you feel safe and warm around me. I feel like that too, like I don't have to hide who I am or or feel badly about myself with you. You're someone I want to spend more and more time around the more I get to know you."
"I could so handle more of you!" He yelled. When the door was shut, and all was said, Connor melted into the sheets, the touch of Jas's lips lingering on his. "God, he's so attractive. Thank you, the universe, for sending me someone so perfect." He got excited like a little girl who got a phone call from her crush. Sure they've kissed and touched, but the way Jas teased him made him want more. Of course, something like that wouldn't happen for a while, which he respects. Connor sat up from the bed and practically skipped to wear his bag was while he figured out something to wear. Connor pulled on some loose shorts that ended just at his knee. He put on a floral flannel and combed his hair down the best he could. So it wasn't sticking in 12 directions but only six. He put on sneakers since they would be walking and driving for quite some time.
Damion blushed, realizing it seemed like he implied. However, he didn't say anything about however because the subject was left behind. "Y-Yes, I would like it very much if we left on a good note. I-" The oven beeping cut him off, and he sighed. "I'll be right back. Let me go get that." Damion places his cup down on the coffee table in front of them. He shuffled over to the oven and opened it to see if the bread was good. Damion took it out using an oven mitt and put it on the stove. He put the bread onto a small march and jogged back to the couch. "Let's hope I didn't mess this up. Otherwise, that would be bad, and you still wouldn't know how to make good bread." Damion sat down next to Suni and turned towards him. "I didn't mean to imply anything sexual. I swear that's not my intention. I truly do want to get to know you more and vice versa. I want you to know that I want to do this right." He handed a piece of bread to Suni, insisting he tries it.
Jas chuckled lightly as he got into the shower. He took his time taking his shower, letting his senses neutralize and the rest of his body wake up. He tipped his head into the water, ears flicking about to get them clean. After the shower, Jas dressing in his shirt and jeans, nothing too fancy but he at least though they looked nice. Once he dried his ear and hair and once he brushed out the snags, he came back out of the bathroom and dropped his used clothes in a separate pile. He smiled softly and strode over to Connor, gently tugging him into an embrace. He combed through Connor's hair and tried to flatten down the rest of the spiky hair. "Are you going to let it grow out again?" He asked softly, only stepping back when he was satisfied.
Suni jumped a little when the oven timer went off. He reluctantet Damion getbup, though almosr immediate he felt colder. "I'm positive you didn't mess anything up. Bread or date wise. I've learned plenty from you and I'll definitely be trying this again, even if this isn't up to your standards." He laughed softly and glanced up when Damion came back and happily settled beside him. "I hadn't meant to imply you would try anything like that but waking up to thought that we might have isn't something I want to do either." He smiled softly and gratefully took the slice of bread. He bit into the soft slice and marvelled at at how buttery it felt. He nodded slightly, glad that Damion understood. "Thank you, Damion. Really. You're the only person i've dates I genuinely want to get to know more of and explore our relationship."
"Oh-hello to you too." He was surprised by the sudden pull toward his lover. Connor shook his head silently. "Maybe. I quite like it short. It's much easier to handle. It'll spike up again, so it doesn't matter whether you flatten it. I think of it as a connection to my past. I've had long hair or grown it out, cut it, and then grew it out for most of my lives. I like the change, and I'd rather not be tied to all those questionable things I've done over my lifetimes. Yes, I know that there were some great memories and places I got to see, but I want to focus on them now. My future lives with you and everything that you are. I know it's stupid, but it's just how I see it." He held Jas by the waist. "You look amazing. I'm fortunate." He kissed Jas's cheek and slid his hand up Jas's shoulder, then down to his hands. "A kiss for the road?"
"That's reassuring, knowing I didn't screw anything up." He took some bread as well. The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. A lot like Suni in a way. This thought made him laugh, so he decided to keep it to himself. "There's no need to thank me. I only speak what I believe to be the truth." He leaned back on the cushions of the couch. Damion opened his arms, hoping Suni would come back into his arms. The bread was warm, but Suni was much warmer. "Is the bread good? I think it tastes great, but your opinion would be much more appreciated."
“Hm, hi darling.” Jas purred, pausing his adjusting of Connor’s hair and glancing down at him. No thinking about Connor’s words, he did understand his decision. With new lives came new experiences and changes. If cutting off his hair meant that Connor was turning over a new leaf in his life and didn’t to have as much association with their past lives, then Jas would honor that. He supposed that he was doing similar with keeping things that reminded him of Winston such as the photos or the wedding bands, though Jas was sure he wasn’t ready to let those go just yet. Even in death and lives between them, Winston meant far too much for Jas to let go. He wasn’t ready to let his first husband go, nor did he want a separation between them all.
He looked down at Connor and gave a soft grin. “I’ve told you before, sweetheart. Nothing you do with meaningful reason is not stupid. If it means something to you, them know I’ll support you, no matter how outlandish.” He pressed a kiss to Connor’s brow and closed his eyes as Connor traced his shoulders and took his hands. “For the road,” He repeated, lacing his hands with Connor’s and gently pinning him against the wall. He dipped his head down and brushed his lips against Connor’s, drawing out a sensual kiss for a few moments. His eyes fluttered shut as he pressed in a little closer, letting himself revel in the fact that Connor was here, with him, with nothing keeping them apart. He broke away to catch his breath but, like in each life they shared, never left his beloved hero’s side. “And for the rest of eternity.” He promised, back away a few moments later and nodding towards the door.
Suni watched Damion as he munched away at the bread.”I like it a lot. Tastes better than anything we buy in the stores.” He tilted his head when Damion opened his arms, debating whether this as a good idea. He dismissed the thought before he could make a mistake and bit the bread in his mouth. He sat up straight and shifted into his fox form before wading through the pillows and blankets and curling up comfortably beside Damion, head and front paws contently dropping onto Damion’s lap. He looked up at him with large emerald eyes just to make sure Damion as alright with a fox in his personal space before going back to tearing at his bread bun between his black paws.
Connor was expecting a little peck on the lips, but he got more than he asked for. However, he wasn't complaining. His body felt like jelly. The touch of his delicate hands and the feeling of the wall were still present on his back and hands. His were hazy when he opened them. "Huh? Uh, yeah." Connor nodded in agreement. He took Jas's hand and opened the door. Connor blinked a few times and took a deep breath. "You're not allowed to kiss me like that from now on. Two times now, you have made me feel…a certain way. So, you can't kiss me like that anymore." He huffed as he pressed the button for the elevator. "When I said a kiss for the road, I meant a pec on the lips, not a push-against-the-wall kiss to make my knees weak. Now you're going to have me thinking of it all day. Maybe not all day because I have a job to do, but you know what I mean."
"I'm glad you like it. Hopefully, you know how to make it, and you weren't too distracted by anything." Damion gasped and hugged the fox on his lap. "You're so soft. I could fall asleep on you." He stroked his fur, making sure not to get any bread crumbs on Suni. Damon's hand rubbed Suni's head and under the chin. Occasionally he would glide his hand down to the rest of Suni's body but mostly stayed at the top. "Are you comfortable? Anywhere you want me to scratch." He finished his bread bun and wiped his hands afterward. I really don't understand how this could send people running. I could hug you and lay with you all day like this. I could lay on this couch all day with you on my lap. Maybe watch a movie. Make some tea. Play a few video games here and there." He listed.
Jas quickly grabbed a light jacket before stumbling out of the hotel room after Connor, also a bit disoriented by the kiss. "Oh? What sort of certain way, sweetheart?" He cooed, chuckling softly when he saw how flustered Connor was. "Darling, I had once promised to kiss you senseless. I never said that was a one time thing." He grinned and gently pulled Connor closer to his side. "Besides, you should have specified beforehand. But I'll ask next time. Wouldn't want anyone else seeing how beautifully red you turn whenever I kiss you, would we?" Jas frowned slightly at the mention of the mission later that day but tried his best to not let it damper the mood. "Consider it a good luck kiss then." He gave Connor one more squeeze before letting him go when the elevator door opened.
Suni squealed in surprise when he was scooped up but quickly settled into Damion's arms. He wiggled about and snickered when Damio petted him, nearly losing all feeling when his head and chin were scratched. He gave a low growl of appreciation and nudged his head into Damion's hands. He liked the idea of relaxing with Damion and just being comfortable with another person. There wasn't an expectation to do anything if they didn't want to and to Suni that was a relief.
Connor looked at Jas with wide eyes and pressed the first floor to the elevator. "Wh-What do you mean that wasn't a one-time thing? It was part of our deal. I'm not complaining, so I don't really mind when you kiss me like that. It's just surprising sometimes. P-Please, I do not turn red; that's all a part of your imagination." Connor poked Jas's forehead playfully. He leaned against the elevator and watched the floor number decrease. "Since you said it, thank you. I'll try my best on the mission tonight. I will come home to you safe and sound." He folded his hands in front of him, deeply thinking about what he should show Jas. There was so much, and he didn't even know where to begin. He sighed hopelessly. I guess I'm winging it.
Damion looked out the window. It didn't feel like they had been lying there for long, but the sun had begun to set. He kissed Suni's head, placing his empty mug on the table. "I think it's time to get you home. Which also means it's time for the surprise. So now you can stop wondering about it because somehow I feel like it's been on your mind." he joked. Damion felt like he was talking Suni's ear off at this point. He had yet to change back, and it had been only him talking for a while. Damion felt terrible for saying so many things over a few hours. He started to think he had overshared, and the thoughts wouldn't stop flowing. However, his face hid it well as if there was nothing wrong.
“There wasn’t a deal if I recall. Only the promise that I’d kiss you senseless if I ever got out of that cell. I never did specify the amount of times that’d happen.” He mused, grinning like he had just won the lottery. He chuckled warmly and caught Connor’s wrist. “You do,” he insisted, pressing a kiss to the back of Connor’s hand before following him out of the elevator. “You turnt he most beautiful shade of blush whenever I show affection.” He cooed, glancing up when they left the hotel building and blinking rapidly at the sunlight. He smile softened as he gently tugged Connor to his side and placed a kiss to his temple. “Thank you, my dear. I pray that everything’s goes right tonight.” He looped their arms together as they walked through the hotel resort, taking in the scenery as much as he could now that he wasn’t half asleep and jet lagged. “This is nicer than I first thought.” He noted, looking out onto the beach and boardwalk, now filled with residents and tourists alike instead of like the night before where it had been nearly empty. "Where are we off to first, my love?"
Suni trilled in appreciation at affectionately nudged his head against Danion's cheek. He huffed a small sigh in slight disappointment before he reluctantly got off of Damion's lap and shifted back to normal. He chuckled lightly and stood off of the couch, holding the mug in his hands. "It has been." He admitted softly, "you can't just tell someone there's a surprise and expect them not to wonder." He teased lightly, shuffling to the kitchen and setting the cup in the sink. "Do you mind if I take some of the rolls?" He asked.
"I wanna show my family. They'll be glad to know a date went well. And of course about you."
"W-Well, if that's how it went-" He huffed. "Why are you looking at me like that? What are you so happy about, mister." he rolled his eyes and leaned his head on Jas's shoulder as they walked. "I do not blush. It's just I forgot my sunscreen, so that's why my face is red." This was a transparent lie as he put on sunscreen before getting dressed. "Yes, Florida is beautiful, filled with douchebags, but beautiful. Then again, doesn't everywhere have a handful of bad people—enough about that. As for where we're going, well, first the parking lot and then to my home town. As for what I want to show you there…I want to show you everything, but I don't think that's possible with our time. Actually…I know where to go." He smirked as they entered the parking lot. He took the keys out of his pocket and listed to the Jeep sound. "Are you driving, or am I?"
He stood up from the couch. "Well, if it's a surprise for long enough, they might just forget about it. You never know. Maybe I was hoping you would forget about it so it could be an extra surprise." he joked. He quickly looked toward Suni with a blank face before it grew slightly red. "You want to tell your family about me? Ye-Yeah, um, take as many as you like. The more people enjoy my food, the better." he brought over the plate full of the bread buns and put them into a container. "Here you are. I assume you don't have a jacket right? Considering your still wearing mine."
Jas laughed as Connor became more and more flustered. He pressed a kiss to his temple, truely happy to be with his beloved in this life, so much so that his heart swelled with joy. "You are a terrible liar, my heart." He teased, nudging Connor's head affectionately. He tilted his head back and forth, "yes I do suppose that is true. In all the places I've lived, in any life, there's always people who seem to be there just to piss you off. But I feel like life is filled with more good than bad, even if it doesn't seem like that sometimes." He shrugged and let Connor go so he could walk to the passenger side of the car. "You're driving. I'm not that great at managing a car. Besides I don't even know where we're going. I want the adventure to be a surprise too." He added, hopping into the driverside of the car and immediate rolling down the window to let the slightly less stifling air into the car.
Suni beamed up at Damion as he handed him the plate of bread rolls. "You're sure? I don't want to take so many if you don't have enough to enjoy." He said, looking at the bread rolls and already imagine how his family would love the bread and hearing about Damion. He managed out a small thank you before ducking his head and blushing. "Y-yeah, but I'll give it back soon! When we get back home, promise."
(don't remember if I sent this already but have a song that I think sorta describes Connor and Jas and their lives together. At least their lives before they got together.
https://youtu.be/wG7zyvXhl8M )
(I think you have sent it before, but then again, my memory is not all that good. it's a wonderful song!)
"Alright," He complied and started the car. He put on his sunglasses, so the road would be visible and not blocked by the sun. Connor turned the radio on for some ambiance and opened the other window closest to him. Like that, he pulled out of the driveway, and they were on their way. He hands one hand on the wheel and the other on Jas's thigh. "I have a question. It might seem silly, and you might laugh, which is perfectly understandable, but…" He trailed off and paused so he could form his words. "Do you think the bird is fake, specifically pigeons? I need a serious answer, and I'll tell you why I think what I think about birds once you give me your answer. I need a reason too. Like a good, hard reason."
Damion nodded. "I'm positive. You and your family can have as much as they want." He was slightly upset that their date was coming to a close, but they both agreed to take it slow. This was the way to do that. "Well, then that means even if you don't want to go on another date with me, you'll have to give me back my container at some point in time, right? Which means we'll meet again soon." He took the coat from the hanged and pulled his arms through the sleeves. "Oh! I almost forgot!" He dug around in his pockets until he pulled out his phone. "Do you mind if I get your number? I didn't want to ask Connor for it since I figured that would be rude and invasive on your part."
Jas toyed with Connor's fingers as they left the parking area and set off towards Connor's hometown. He tilted his head curiously ears flicking up in amusement and intrigue. He groaned with a laugh and shook his head "darling, please tell me you're not one of those conspiracy buffs that think the world is flat and bird are government spies. I can almost guarantee you that bird are real. In the many lives that I've been desperate enough to hunt said birds, I've never bit into an anamatronic before." He reassured, patting Connor's hand. "Of all people, I'd think you'd have a better understanding of our feathered friends, considering you do have wings. But please, do indulge me, my heart. What's your reasoning for thinking pigeons are government spies?"
Suni laughed softly and flicked the hood over his head and ears. "That is true, but I don't think this will be out last date. I've really enjoyed this and I'd like to go out with you again." He said shyly, jumping a bit when Damion pulled out his phone with a yell of excitement. The fox shook his head and found his phone in his back pocket. "Go ahead, I don't mind at all. And thank you, for asking me instead if Connor or Jas." He unlocked his phone and handed it to Damion with his phone number on the screen. "Feel free to text or call whenever you want. If I don't answer right away I'll probably get back to you later at night. Oh and if you find any strange texts, those are probably from Sasha." He shook his head with a laugh. "She likes to steal my phone from Time to time."
(I tried to write a response in class, but I couldn't write it with a straight face, so I'm going to do it when I get home XD)
