Sam: Laughs Sure, I guess! Unarmed combat?
Sam: Laughs Sure, I guess! Unarmed combat?
De Tearion: Chuckles, raising his clawed hand. You consider this unarmed? I can rip a human in half with only two hands, and I have four. Grins mischievously.
Sam: Chuckles Luckily, I'm not human. Her arms split, then split again, giving her her natural six. Her eyes narrow and darken, turning pure smoke grey. Her form grows to be as tall as De Tearion would be standing straight. And I have my own advantages.
De Tearion: A bit stunned by the change. I know of only two Forestfolk with six arms, and they are both extremely difficult to find. Yet, I have never met another as tall as I am. Pauses for a moment. Shall we continue this on ground level? He then vanishes in a cloud of black smoke, teleporting to the ground just below where he had previously been.
Sam: If by Forestfolk you mean others like me, there are only three. And yes, we shall. She drops into a Muay Thai fighting stance.
De Tearion: Forestfolk be a collective name for the many species that live in the forests of my homeland. Goliathans are Forestfolk. There are only two species I know of with six arms. He faces her, standing straight and at his full height, his posture loose. He calmly watches Sam.
Sam: Smiles, then does something unexpected: she stands straight again, crossing her arms, waiting for De Tearion to make the first move. Ah, then technically, yes I am Forestfolk, since the Mist realms seem to mirror this world.
De Tearion: Chuckles at her actions. You are a Spiderfolk then? For those be the two species. He watches her, waiting for a reply as much as calculating how best to fight her. He doesn’t move though.
Sam: Chuckles In a way, I suppose I am. The will-o'-the-wisp form is one I take in the Mist Realms. Her form shifts dramatically to become the figure of a woman perched atop the body of a pale Brazilian Wandering Spider. See? Mine true form.
(Also, aren't you usually in bed by now, lmao?)
De Tearion: Looks at her in fascination. I see. Yet, I believe the two species are more humanoid than centaurine. That means you are a third species.
Me: Staring at pics of Brazilian Wandering Spiders in fascination, then taking notes. I collect spider pics, evil grin. Also, just fyi, the two species De Tearion is talking about are creatures I made. They have a similar build to Goliathans (humanoid but with some heavy arachnid features). They’re still vague, honestly, but they’re my only six-armed creatures at the moment.
(Lol, yeah. I’m procrastinating because my brain won’t shut the fuck up. I’ve been on and off dozing off for the past hour. I might call it here in a minute, just to try sleeping)
Sam: Laughs Yes, that I would be. Now, will we fight, or shall we continue with words?
Me: Ah… and okay, lmao!
De Tearion: Intriguing. Snickers at her question. It matters not, yet I refuse to strike first. You are a woman, after all.
Sam: Chuckles Yet, I refuse to strike first. I see we've reached an impasse. She then grins and a net of web is launched at De Tearion. Not a strike, but nonetheless an attack, yes?
De Tearion: Laughs. Indeed we have. Chirps in mild surprise at the web, then cuts a few strands and begins to slowly peel it off. He takes his time, delicately removing the web, then balls it up. He chirps in fascination at it, then walks to a nearby tree and tucks the ball of web into the crook of a branch. He returns to where he was standing. Aye, that would be an attack. Shrugs, glancing back a last time at the ball of web as black mist forms around his fingers. He then casually throws a black bolt of energy at Sam, a bolt that would stun her.
Sam: Merely shakes her head, annoyed by the bolt. The stunning effects take effect slowly, but she quickly removes the effects from her mind, snorting. Nice try. But, as you were able to shake off my webs, I am able to shake off your stunning.
De Tearion: Intrigued and amused. You are a worthy opponent then. Suddenly teleports next to Sam, moving to scratch one of her legs, then teleports back to his first spot. Whether he had hit her or not wasn’t the point of that strike, because he was testing her. He knew very little about her race or skills, and her size was something he wasn’t accustomed to.
(She's different than other brazilian wandering spiders because magic.)
Sam: Snorts and looks at her leg. I wouldn't have done that if I were you. Unlike normal spiders, the hairs on my legs cause extreme pain and hallucinations.
(Lol. And Goliathans are walking tanks because their exoskeleton is natural heavy armor, though the downside is it’s somewhat innervated)
De Tearion: Hums. I see. Then ‘tis fortunate I was using my claws instead of my hands. Though, I will still possibly feel it. Shrugs nonchalantly. Pain be pain. I can tolerate plenty of it. Hallucinations… I am uncertain. Lightly shakes his hand to dislodge any hairs that might have stuck to him. He could already feel a stinging sensation on his claws, but he easily ignored it. Now you.
(The plus side to my Spidertaurs: they are nimble and pointy as fuck. Their downside? Not much in the way of natural armour, lmao!)
(And that's not their actual name, lmao!)
Sam: Grins, then jumps, landing behind De'Tearion. She lunges forward and the claws at the tips of her two front legs strike his hard carapace, barely scratching him but staggering him. That good enough?
(Lol. Drider is also a good filler name, even though she’s not a drow [one of those ‘mere technicality’ things, lmao!])
De Tearion: Ducks when Sam jumps, then pivots around to face her. He stumbles back several steps, winded for a moment. He chuckles. Indeed. Suddenly notices two new tears in his robe and laughs. This poor robe always gets torn somehow! Only Mercy knows why it has yet to fall apart. He then jumps up into the trees, quickly crawling over to hover above Sam. He then swings down, claws swiping at her scalp, before teleporting back to the ground.
(Hmmmm… interesting. I have some of my own nimble tanks. They aren't as interesting as the Goliathan, but rest assured, they could give them a run for their money.)
(Yeah… I guess that works.)
(Ah, that's the thing! Sam didn't actually pierce De'Tearion's carapace, she merely scratched it. Her races claws are pretty much the sharpest things my universe has to offer in the way of natural defenses. Save for the hedgepines. Those things are prickly.)
Sam: She laughs, delighted. Most would have been torn asunder by that blow! And I apologise for the robe. I should be able to mend it later. She looks startled at the leap, but looks up, hearing a slight rustle in the leaves, her predatory senses naturally attuned to those sorts of sounds. She ducks, then rears back, swiping at De'Tearion once more.
(Ooh… And considering, I think I make a lot of nimble creatures. I’m not sure, but I know it’s a common trait, lol)
(Casual shrug. I typically use Drider like that. It’s just easier for me. But, either way)
(Yup, I know. I just wanted to avoid any later confusion. Hmm… that’s pretty cool. I think Lucitius’ claws would be the sharpest things in my multiverse, unsure. Lol)
De Tearion: Laughs, then waves his hands dismissively. A few more tears will hurt it not. And I can easily sew them up. He chirps in mild surprise at Sam’s attack, but easily dodges, laughing. He then teleports behind her, shooting a stunning bolt at her, then jumps into the trees and tries to scratch her scalp again. He teleports back to the ground, grinning.
(Yeah makes sense. Actually, I could throw in a related species to Sam. It would be a Naga-like species, or Yuan-Ti. It would be interesting.)
(Yeah, fair.)
(And I said natural, as well. Magical enhancements don't really count, at least, in my mind.)
Sam: Laughs Okay, then. If you're sure. She grins, then grabs De'Tearion, pinning him in place, but upon getting hit by the stunning bolt, she staggers, shakes her head and chuckles. She doesn't manage to dodge the swipe, either. That time, you caught me by surprise! Hardly any have done that. She grapples De'Tearion once more, pinning him.
(Ooh, sure)
(Lmao! Good point. Well… then I have no clue. Goliathans would be up there, because they have some sharp ass claws, but I’m otherwise unsure)
De Tearion: Laughs. I am honored to be of the few that can catch you by surprise. He seems unfazed by her grapple, grinning mischievously. And few can hold a Goliathan prisoner. He teleports, reappearing on the back of her spider body, the claws of his feet lifted slightly so they wouldn’t dig into her. He wraps around her top half, pinning her arms to her side in a tight but gentle hug. Yet, I can hold you easily. He teleports away, reappearing on top of a tree root, standing easily despite the curve of the root.
(Okee!)
(Yeah… anyways, my most nimble race would be Danielle's.)
Sam: Laughs Not as easily as you would think, De'Tearion. She waves her six arms. After all, I do have my six arms. And possibly much more dexterity than those four of yours. And I have a further 8. If needed, I could outrun most anything.
Danielle has joined the chat
Sam: Laughing Oh, hey Danielle! She wraps her in a hug.
Danielle: Laughing It's been too long, Sam. Where have you been?
Sam: Releases Danielle. Oh, you know. Out and about. She grins mischeviously. And over there is a Goliathan, a race of warriors. His name is De'Tearion.
Danielle: Waves Hello!
(Thumbs-up)
De Tearion: Chuckles. Aye, you have make three good points, yet my strength likely surpasses yours by far. I have little doubt that I could pick you up and throw you if I desired. By this point, his hand has curled into a tight fist, but he doesn’t seem to notice it.
De Tearion: Pauses at the sight of Danielle, watching her cautiously, then shrugs. Greetings.
Danielle: Cackles Oh, I can tell he's another shape-changer, like us, aren't you? I assume Goliath Beetle. My lovely friend here is a Wandering Spider, and I am an Inland Taipan. Insectoid, Arachnoid and Serpentoid. So very interesting!
Sam: Sighs Ah, I forgot how much you talked. I can not say I truly missed that, but I can say I missed you.
Danielle: Shrugs her slim shoulders Ah, you know you like me and my words.
Sam: The sad part is, that's true. Anyways, would you like to join us in a duel?
Danielle: Gives De'Tearion a sneaky grin. Nah, I'll wait until you two are done.
(Loud gasps. Inland Taipan! Yes! Clears throat. Excuse me. I love snakes, and reptiles in general, evil grin)
De Tearion: Aye, I am a Goliath Beetle. Chuckles in amusement at the pair’s interactions, and Danielle’s look. He then glances to the side. Also, I believe the full effects of those hairs of yours are finally appearing. My old nemesis be standing over there, being as annoying as ever. He casually points over to a nearby tree. No one was there. And warn me if my claws start digging into my arm. I will feel it not. He then teleports to Sam’s side, casting a bolt that pulsed with enough energy to possibly knock Sam over. He chuckles.
