(Finally finished!)
Name: Tesia Gray "Tess" "Tessie"
Alias/performer name: The Bird of Prey
Role: Will help wherever needed, but mostly sticks to trapeze and tightrope walking.
Age: 17
Gender and pronouns: Female she/her
Personality: Tess is hard-working and though she can be sarcastic at times, she is a very compassionate person. She cares about others and is always willing to stand up for what she thinks is right. She's extremely stubborn and can seem standoffish at times, and often makes up her own routines in the middle of a performance. Says it keeps her on her toes.
Appearance: Standing at 5'3, Tess has lightly tanned skin, short raven-black hair in a pixie cut style, dark blue-purple eyes, and faint freckles across her nose. When performing, she wears something like this, but a dark green with teal and pale gold accents, and simple ballet flats, accompanied by a silver masquerade mask. Outside of performances she wears a random shirt, jeans or leggings, black sneakers, and a windbreaker.
Background: Tess grew up being physically and mentally abused by her father, especially after her mother's death when she was 12. Despite how he treated her, he never did anything that left a physical scar, and Tess believed that he could be a better person if she gave him a chance. Over time, she came to realize just how wrong she was, and after a particularly awful night, Tesia finally decided she'd had enough. She ran away, taking all the money out of the safe and shoving all the food she could into a backpack. She'd hang around areas where she could easily get food, mostly convenience stores, and started stealing when she ran out of money. Tess heard somebody talking about the circus one day and went straight to them.
Other: Besides English, speaks fluent Latin and Spanish(Mexico version, not Spain)
(I can totally see some of the other performers calling her Birdie)
(I just woke up Clown emoji I'll try and put something up todday)
( @mothmans_lil_dancy_dance okay so just quick heads up to Silas, Enrique do be slightly illiterate now-)
(I am now imagining Silas reading stories and poems to him at night when he can’t sleep and it is giving me serotonin)
(Ah yes, the good neurochemicals)
Name: Dakota LaBestian
Alias/performer name: Petite Bête (Little Beast)
Role: Beast Tamer
Age: 23
Gender and pronouns: Any Pronouns // Genderfluid
Personality: Dakota is… a character. They seem to be very sweet, the epitome of a short person stereotype, short and sweet. They are quite sweet, however, they have a wild streak… A few bouts of insanity if I may… But other than that she's very sweet! I promise!
Appearance: Dakota has short long brown hair, with the back shaved down into an undercut. Most of the time they keep it down, giving them a wild and unhinged look. His eyes are often rimmed in dark, messy eyeliner and mascara, with her eyes being dark as it is. Their skin is pale and pulled gaunt against their bones. They do, however, wear long skirts and his shirts are always ruffled. Essentially she looks like a Victorian child in the apocalypse.
Background: Well… Cannibalism is a thing, though could they really prove it? No. But does Dakota have way too much knowledge on canibalsim? Yes
Other:
(Also Dakota is up for shipping :)
(Enrique would like to know from Dakota if human meat actually taste like odorless veal like cannibals say they do?)
(Dakota reminds me of another character I have. She’s a cannibal cleric, a bit on the weird/creepy side, and knows Oni. But, she’s not a jester, so she’s pretty much irrelevant)
(hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bro I’m so excited for this shit)
(Enrique would like to know from Dakota if human meat actually taste like odorless veal like cannibals say they do?)
(wouldn't you like to know weather boy)
I’ll be a little late getting my character up, doctors appointment
Name: Doku Hendrix
Alias/Performer Name: Maple
Role: Snake Charmer & Occasional Tightrope
Age: 28
Gender and pronouns: Female, She/Her
Personality: While her show persona is mysterious and playful, Doku is very manipulative, sadistic and cynical. She is a loner, as she doesn't get along with humans very well and constantly gets in fights with her fellow circus workers.
Appearance: Doku has long hair which is orange with two black streaks framing her face and white tips. Her real eye colour is green, but she wears yellow-coloured contacts. She also has a golden fang filling in a tooth gap on the left side of her mouth and a black tattoo in the shape of a 4-pointed star on her forehead. She wears a sleeveless black jumpsuit with poofy pant legs and white fur on the collar and doesn't wear shoes.
Background: When Doku was young, she disliked her little half-brother, Luke Hendrix. After buying a snake, she manipulated her into biting and killing Luke. She and her snake soon became murder buddies and were noticed by the police soon after.
Other: - The snake Doku charms is a personal pet King Cobra whom she named "Star"
-She calls her family by code names, calling the brother she killed "Apple"
-Notes that she likes the names "Petal", "Larch" and "Patch" for if she ever has children
(Warriors inspired, obviously.)
(I updated Silas a lil bit)
(Once more people are online we can probably start if everyone is fine with it! :D)
(and I'm ready to start whenever)
(I’m casual for when we start as well)
(You know, I just noticed that Zeni is the oldest character of the group. That is outright hysterical! Oh, he’s going to be pissed. Evil laugh. I love it!)
(Alright well I guess we should start. I'll post a starter unless someone else would like to. Not sure how we should start off though, I was thinking something like this: They have a show soon (it could either be very soon, like they're waiting for visitors to fill up the tent before beginning, or it could be more "in a couple of days" soon) and they're preparing for it. Pretty simple but I feel like something general like this might be the way to go in the beginning so everyone can kinda just jump in. Any thoughts?)
(I'm probably going to just leave this actually because I won't be able to keep up, sorry.)
(It's alright, no worries)
(Typing up a starter, should be posted soon)
(I'm pretty bad at starters to be completely honest 💀. You're posts don't need to be this long, I'm just trying to set everything up. Anyone can jump in at any time, hope everyone has fun with this. :))
Laughter and indistinguishable chatter could be heard from the circus. Even though the main show in the tent only happened every few days, the rest of the lot was filled with plenty of carnival games to entertain people every day of the week. The performers would often take this time to rehearse their acts, hang out, or just do whatever it is runaway criminals do! Considering they came to the circus so they could lay low and avoid being in the general public, there were a few caravans in the back of the circus for the performers to sleep. The back was of course fenced off from the circus visitors, exclusive to staff and performers only. The performers would often stay in the back or in the tent, but could still do other things like enjoy the carnival games when they weren't working.
Saoirse was standing on the platform in the center of the tent, practicing for the upcoming show. There wasn't much for her to actually practice, considering they mostly just introduced the individual acts and narrated some things, but that certainly didn't stop them from practicing almost every day. Their "practicing" mostly consisted of random shouting and goofing off, and of course being a general nuisance. But it was fun to her, and that's all that really mattered. They wore their generic ringleader outfit, which was a red tailcoat paired with black pants and boots, and of course her prized possession- a top hat. "Introducing, the great, the amazing, the absolutely wonderful Saoirse!" She shouted at the top of their lungs as they jumped around the platform, giggling hysterically. They would never actually act this way during a show, but rehearsal was like one big playground to her. In the midst of her jumping and spinning around, they accidentally flung the long black stick they used for theatrics to the other side of the tent. They had always insisted it would be more fun to use the stick than just using her hands and pointing at stuff. Saoirse was extremely reckless with it though, it was a miracle it hadn't broken yet.
Silas was sitting in the stands, reading a book of old poems. He preferred to stay away from the guests unless he had to, and he knew he would be too tempted to nap if he hung out in his caravan. The seats in the tent were just uncomfortable enough to keep him from getting sleepy. He wasn’t paying attention to Saoirse, until their black stick went whizzing past his head, just missing Grev, who was perched on his shoulder.
“Watch it!”
His tone was stern, but didn’t quite sound angry. Closer to a father disciplining a child who was about to do something stupid.
“You could’ve hit Grev! You know he’s still recovering from the time that kid in the crowd grabbed him!”
The crow tilted his head in affirmation. Grev had recovered physically, but was still quite a bit jittery from that incident.
