(June deserves all the hugs)
Gus nodded. "Yeah," he admitted. "Prob'bly one of us should keep watch 'n let you rest. But we'll wake you if anything happens. Hopefully nuthin' does, 'cause I ain't taught you how t' actually use that knife of yours yet."
(lol I feel that xD)
Gus grinned. "Nuthin'. Jus' sayin' we shouldn't hang out up here much longer. We gotta go 'n batten down th' hatches while we still have daylight t' do it. And we should also pick who's keepin' first watch tonight. Somebody's gonna have to unlock th' door fer Jez when he gets back."
"I can…i can take first watch ..' she offered, wanting to be able to help for once.
(Yes someone go hug her)
Darius nodded, “Yeah,..I should probably practice with it”
June just sat there, trying to stop crying, but her grief was to much, to much to stop the flow of tears running down her face, to much to stop her heavy breathing. To much to control.
(Gus is on the way xD)
Gus blinked, surprised to hear Jasper speak. "Well now, y'sure you're up for it, kid? You oughta get some sleep too, I mean you were in a house fire 'n you met us 'n got in a fight—you gotta be dog tired." He paused, seeing something almost hopeful in her expression. "….But if you wanna take first watch, I guess I'd appreciate it. I'm real tired too."
"Tomorrow we can practice fightin' together," he promised Darius. "I'll teach you th' basics, anyhow. I think you'll learn quick."
“People have said that I am…I think…I mean I know how to play the drums” he said randomly.
She nodded, "I do, i do wanna..i want to help. You should get some rest…where should I eat h from…?" She almost spoke the last part to herself.
"I heard that you play drums," Gus confirmed cheerfully. "We'll have to play a tune together sometime too. If you can learn music, I reckon you can learn most anythin'."
To Jasper, he said, "You can sit near where th' rest of us are, inside. Y' only have t' worry if you hear somethin' outside or if y' think somethin's tryin' to break in, okay? And after an hour or two I'll trade with you." He stood up and started collecting the remains of their meal. "Let's all head downstairs now, 'n put this stuff away."
Jez takes the water with a grateful nod "thanks" he says as he unscrews the lid.
"Uh….I've got to get supplies. I told them I'd get some. I don't want to come back empty handed. If you want, I can point you in the direction of it though. I doubt you wanna go on a supply run." He says says a laugh, taking a sip of the water
Darius nodded, “I know mostly rock music, though none of the names just the music..but I can learn it I bet”
June kept trying to stop the tears, sitting on the ground holding herself as she broke down.
Evan smiled at Jez "Oh i don't mind at all, maybe i can be some help to you during it and we can get back quicker, I'm sure there worried about you." He moves to get up and dust himself off looking elsewhere.
Elodie sighed into the open air, her breaths long and shaky.
"I get what you think, you think by hurting me you saved me, but newsflash Jesse. You hurt me, we don't even know if that guy was dangerous." She said vastly, her mind a thousand miles away.
"Rock music's alright," Gus said agreeably to Darius as he descended the ladder. "I don't play it much but I get the gist of it. Careful on th' way down here, it's a little slippery and th' ground ain't gonna hug you gentle if y' fall."
she nodded, and made her way down the ladder carefully choosing a spot for watch.
Jesse sighs, turning around to face Elodie, her brows furrowed. Not in anger but in worry
"You had no idea either.. you can't take that chance….i couldn't take that chance" she says, her voice a bit softer. Which was obviously rare.
All she could think was "she doesn't get it" whether or not it was true.
how can I get her to understand?

Jez looks around the corner, coughing once more before turning back to Evan.
"Well if youre sure." He shrugs "you know any good places to stay? We're at this dollar store right now. It's definitely not the safest place to camp" he says with a soft chuckle
Darius nodded and followed Gus.
June was still crying, to lost in her sorrow to hear the others coming down from the roof.
(i might have jasper try and cheer up june, that okay?)
(sure idrc who cheers her up ^-^)
Gus made sure both Darius and Jasper got to solid ground safely, then led the way inside to the staff room where they kept their supplies. "Jasper, would y'do me a favor 'n see where June's at, maybe tell 'er we're lockin' up fer th' night? And Darius, we gotta drag somethin' heavy in front of this door after we lock it." Gus was getting slightly worried about Jez by now, but he distracted himself by giving instructions to the others.
she nodded, moving around the store until she heard june crying, "June…?"
Darius nodded, "what do we have that is heavy?"
June quickly whiped the tears from her eyes, not that it did any good. She turned away from Jasper, "I am fine"
Gus looked around and saw a metal shelf that looked movable. "Let's try this. Wedge it up against th' corner of th' wall too, so's even if a real strong somebody pushed from th' outside, they'd have t' actually break it t' get through." He pulled a few boxes from it so the wouldn't fall, then went and grabbed one end. "We'll walk it over. Try not t' drag it across the floor, that's too noisy."
Elodie nodded respectively and gave a tired sigh
"I get it, in a world like this it can be hard to trust people, especially strangers."
She said quietly, she tried to get up and winced
"but it still hurts y'know?" she said to no one in particular.
Jesse rolls her eyes "it hurts because I shot you." She jokes, though it didn't really sound much like it. Having always been bad with her tones and all, nobody ever knew whether or not she was joking.
"You didn't move. I told you to move" she huffs, looking down to the ground and swallowing her pride for a second. "It's my fault I shot you. I von't apologize for it. But I vasnt going to kill him…unless he hurt you." She added in. "Have a bit of faith in me" she says, her body relaxing from its rather tense form.
Elodie gave a nod and a sly grin.
"You know what that means" she said slyly "you have to take care of me until I feel better" she added with a strong grin.
Darius nodded, "what do we have that is heavy?"
June quickly wiped the tears from her eyes, not that it did any good. She turned away from Jasper, "I am fine"
she frowned at June, moving closer to her. "are you sure..?"
Jesse sighs, turning around to face Elodie, her brows furrowed. Not in anger but in worry
"You had no idea either.. you can't take that chance….i couldn't take that chance" she says, her voice a bit softer. Which was obviously rare.

"Well if youre sure." He shrugs "you know any good places to stay? We're at this dollar store right now. It's definitely not the safest place to camp" he says with a soft chuckle
he turned to look back at Jez again, he paused a bit before shaking his head, "no…sorry."
(Write can I vent to you real quick—? in DMs—?)
Darius nodded and walked over grabbing the other side of the shelf.
June shook her head, not trusting herself to voice her problems.
Gus gave the shelf a heave and maneuvered his end over to the door, grateful that it was mostly just a frame and not solid metal. Heavy lifting definitely wasn't his strong suit. "Make sure she's tucked up nice 'n snug against th' wall there," he told Darius.
Darius did this, and nodded to Gus, "thats good right?"
