"Of course you can have her fingernails."
"Of course you can have her fingernails."
Adelia took Jovie's shoulders, forcing her to look deep into her eyes. "Whatever you do, don't let them see you. I don't care what happens to me, I need you to stay hidden. Do you understand?"
Jovie bit her lip gently but nodded.
"Good."
Taking a deep breath, Adelia strode out of hiding and faced her sisters who waited at the bottom of the stairwell. With a sweep of her hand, the soldiers climbing the stairs all collapsed.
"Zelda. Kathrina. Veronica." Her voice carried through the halls, commanding power and dignity. "My sisters, vengeance has brought you here, but it will not serve you well."
"We're already in, are we not," Zelda said, "we've almost already reclaimed our kingdom."
Reese walked to stand beside Zelda so that they could be seen. They looked up at the strange lady, trying to figure out what was going on. A look of confusion and slight panic was on their face.
Kathrina glared fiercely at Adelia, waving her hand. The soldiers unsheathed their weapons and skeletons soon joined. She pulled out a small bottle, coating her sword’s blade with its inky black contents.
Veronica huffed, waving dismissively at Adelia. She held her sword, magically shrinking it to a dagger, waiting for Zelda.
"This kingdom is no longer rightfully yours," Adelia replied smoothly. "You lost that privilege when you betrayed our family." Her eyes flickered to Reese, noting their existence, but not yet acknowledging them.
Reese was a lot more confused, as they knew nothing of their mother's history and was getting dropped with so many bombs today.
"I didn't betray the family," she said with a fire in her eyes, "they betrayed me!"
Veronica giggled evilly. She pulled out a scroll, keeping it close.
Kathrina’s glare sharpened with Zelda’s words. She held her sword close, black mist forming around her fingers. The sword flashed with the mist, retaining a faint black glow.
Adelia stiffened. "I believe your views have been corrupted my beloved sisters. You are no longer welcome here."
(Did we loose River?)
(Yup. Looks like it)
(Oof. TBC I guess XD)
(Lol)
(Sup. My brain has been wrung dry.)
(It's okay. Can you come up with anything?)
(I should be able to. Let's do this, then.)
(Yay!)
"You're the mislead one, sister!"
Reese was even more confused, they didn't know what was going on. Visible confusion and panic showed on their face.
“You shouldn’t be welcome!”Kathrina snarled.
“Yeah! You call us corrupted, you fiend!”Veronica replied.
(Ok. Confusion any moment now.)
Adelia shook her head sadly but said nothing. Finally, she extended her hand in Reese's direction. "Zelda, who is this?"
"I should've anticipated that you wouldn't know Reese. They came into this after I left."
Reese stared at Adelia, confused and somewhat scared.
Veronica paused, confused by the situation.
“You’re talking about the kid, now?”Kathrina growled.
Adelia smiled warmly at them and gave a little wave in their direction. "Hello Reese."
Zelda shook her head and got back on track. "But, we are here to reclaim this place. Introductions don't matter!"
Wings flared up on Zelda as she spoke, disappearing after she finished.
Reese stared at her, still very confused. Their voice was but a whisper. "Huh?"
Veronica blinked, then grinned. Kathrina gave a strange growl, tapping her fingers on the hilt of her sword.
“You’re going to meet my needle, fool sister,”Veronica said, giggling.
Looking to Reese with sympathy, Adelia spoke softly, "I'm sorry. You must be terribly confused." She quickly regained her queenly manner to address Zelda, Kathrina, and Veronica again. "I beg to differ, my sisters," Adelia replied. "I cannot allow that to happen." Behind her back, her fingers curled into fists at the mention of Veronica's needle.
Reese continued to whisper. "Yeah, I'm confused. So many bombs have been dropped today."
Zelda summoned her wings and grabbed her weapon.
"I'm sorry you have to see this, child," Adelia spoke to Reese while glancing between her three sisters.
In hiding, Jovie tensed in preparation for the fight.
Kathrina traced a tiny sigil in the air, and a portal appeared in the midst of the undead. A large, black gargoyle stepped through, its eyes glowing red.
“Ooh, nice one. I always liked your gargoyles,”Veronica commented.
She tapped her dagger with a finger, and it started to glow a deep red, appearing much stronger than Kathrina’s enchantment on her sword. She then tossed the scroll at Adelia.
The scroll landed on the step below Adelia, sparks appearing. The paper glowed red and seemed to be waiting for someone to get near it.
"D-Does she think I'm just a stupid child?"
Zelda got into battle position, ready to kill.
