"Ok, I'll be careful," she replied. She winced when the dragon began to fly but soon calmed down. Her eyes widened in emotion as they reached the sky above the clouds. "It's… fantastic… I'm speechless…" She was silent for a while, then she clung to Hiro's neck, ready to go back down. She let out a scream that was a mixture of fear and excitement.
He laughed as the leveled out in the sky “ fun right?” He asked as they headed toward the mountains.
"Ahaha yes it's fun. We should do it other times too-" She stopped. Ruby began to think about the fact that maybe, after finding Hiro's house, they would never see each other again.
It was if he’d read her mind “ don’t be afraid that I might leave you, you will always be my savor and I will forever be in debt. After all dragon law states that if anyone saves a dragon, the dragon is forever theirs.”
"Really? Good! Also because… um… I'd like to become friends… even if I really know very little about you"
He smiled “ sure!” As they arrived at the palace, among the mountains it was completely out of view from the town. Hiro landed shifting back. He walked with ruby by his side, going to his fathers thrown.
"Okay. Then maybe, when you have some time, you can tell me a little about yourself. And I can tell you something about me." Ruby looked around admiring the view, then made a serious face. It was the first time she had met a royal and she didn't want to risk making a fool of herself. She walked alongside Hiro trying to be as close to him as possible. She wasn't shy or embarrassed, but she wanted to make sure she didn't get lost.
As hiro passed guards and advisors she spoke in draconian. Asking them where his father could be found. Finally he got a strait answer and took ruby to meet him. “ father” he spoke, bowing respectfully.
Ruby felt slightly uncomfortable listening to Hiro speak in draconian and realized that maybe he felt that way too when he didn't know English. When she reached the room where Hiro's father was she felt slightly intimidated, but she tried to keep a stoic face. Despite this, however, she bowed with Hiro. "Good morning," she said, then cursed herself internally. "Shit, he probably doesn't understand my language"
The dragon king only laughed lightly “ good morning to you too young lady, I apologize for any inconvenience my son has caused you. The guards told about what had happened when he was talking to them. “ he bowed back to her “ so…. You saved my son and only heir to the throne. Now he has befriended you and you the same. Your very lucky as hiro doesn’t just go out, get saved and trust them right after. It took the guards years for them to gain his trust”
Hiro flushed at his fathers words, feeling his face grow hot. The boy knew his father was okay with humans, and even knew the language better then him. He had always said that there was once peace among humans and dragons. They’d even lived together once, but that was before the humans started attacking and killing dragons for greed.
"No, Hiro didn't cause me any problems. Actually, it was nice to spend time with him. And I'm…" she stopped, thinking a bit about what the right word was to use "Ah yes. I'm flattered that Hiro trusts me, and it was a pleasure to meet him."For a while Ruby didn't notice her friend's red face, and when she saw it she smiled at him slightly. Then she breathed a sigh of relief: it was the first time she had spoken so politely with someone. She was carefully choosing which words to use to try and make a good impression.
The king merely smiled, bowing his head. “ you to should head up to the bedroom. Supper will be here soon and I’m sure you both are hungry. Hiro, ask the seamstress to get something to wear for your friend “
Hiro nodded. Once they were up in his bed room they waiting for the seamstress to bring ruby the outfit. Once it had come, he saw that it was a dragon scale fabric, much like his clothes. The scales were a deep blue, the dress was more formal. Short with a small flair at the lower of where the upper chest would be.
The girl realized she was really hungry. She followed her friend to his room, looking around trying to memorize the structure of the castle to avoid getting lost. She wondered what the dress would look like and when she saw it she wasn't disappointed at all. She usually wore shorts and T-shirts, but gladly agreed to try on that dress. "It looks very beautiful. I like it. Where can I change?" she asked Hiro.
Hiro pointed to one of the small bathrooms. He himself grabbing a matching color suit, when he changed it was almost skin tight. His wings, tail, and horns had appeared when he came out from behind his changing border. His over coat had a split tail and his crown was perched on his head. Now, he definitely looked like a prince.
"Thanks," Ruby said before stepping into the bathroom. She slowly took off her shorts and shirt and looked at herself in the mirror. She noticed that there were little drops of sweat on her forehead and on her cheeks, so she quickly rinsed her face. Then she took her dress and put it on with some difficulty. After she finished, she knocked lightly on the door. "Can I come in or are you getting dressed?" she asked Hiro.
“ you can come in.” He said. He had only just been pacing up his boots when she came out.
"Ok," the girl said. She opened the door and entered the room. "Wow. Those clothes look good on you. Ehehe, now you really look like a prince!"
Hiro laughed lightly “ I really try not to. Bring royalty is like a heavy curse. Though… wearing the clothes are fun”
"Oh. Sorry, I didn't know. And why? I mean… you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. And yeah, I think wearing these clothes is funny too"
( I would ask ruby too but for me it would be a yes! Now I can’t reply after this because I’m going to go to a sugary like thing. )
Hiro stayed quiet for a good moment before talking “ it is a curse because I could never make friends without knowing if they like me or my title. Along with the fact of your mind constantly racing about who’s going to be the one to stab you in the back. Assassin threats are made on my father almost two times a day.. I couldn’t bear to always live a life like that..”
( @Zoe-the-GM yeah there's no problem you can join)
"Damn, this sucks a bit. I wouldn't handle that either. I… I'm sorry," she paused to decide what to say. After a couple of awkwardly silent seconds, Ruby continued. "I understand you if you don't trust me. If I were you, I wouldn't trust me either"
“ you saved my life. Give me one reason why is shouldn’t? You could have kept me for all the money in the world, or left me with those hunters. But you decided right then and there to save me “ he said with a small smile
"Thank you. This means a lot to me. I'm happy to be your friend," she concluded with a smile. "Shall we continue to talk or do you prefer to go and eat? For me it is the same. Really, I don't mind talking to you"
