(I just saw Katsurou and I'm totally invested in his character! I can't wait to see him in writing! Please feel free to jump in at any point^^)

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

(Cool, thanks!)

A light knock, knock, knock-knock, knock sounded on the doorframe, and Kato peered in. "Hey! Inkmeister and… Void, right? I'm Finger Guns, it's great to meet you guys," he said, with a small wave of his right hand on his introduction. He stepped into the room with a grin.

Deleted user

(No worries!)

Taken aback slightly by the sudden change in topic, Takao paused. “Most difficult,” he mused, staring off into the distance as he recounted past fights.

“Huh. Well, there was this villain with a quirk that could manipulate mirrors that gave me a bunch of trouble. What was her name… Funhouse! Yeah, she was a pain,” he complained, rubbing the back of his neck contemplatively. “My ink sticks to most things, but it had no impact against her mirrors, and she could move through them or substitute herself with reflections… That fight was a hot mess,” he admitted.

“I ended up barely beating her by disguising some ink as blood. She didn’t realize until too late what it actually was, and by that point, the win was mine,” he explained. He started to reciprocate the question when a knocking interrupted.

Eyes lighting up, he stood from his chair (more carefully this time) to greet their next teammate. "Welcome to the team, Finger Guns! How's it going?"

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

"Going good, thanks! Though… well, heh, I guess I did get kind of turned around on the way here." Kato chuckled. "Couple of villains were causing problems, so I ended up taking a detour to help take care of them. Then I might have realized that I was a little lost," he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck and laughing a little.

@PastelTart

Aika grinned at Finger Guns. "No worries!" She replied, offering her hand. "Nice to meet you, Finger Guns. Glad to have you on the team."

Deleted user

Takao grinned, glancing at Void and nodding his agreement. “Happens to the best of us, but I’m glad you made it safely. We were discussing our quirks and past battles while we waited for everyone,” he explained, waiting for the other two heroes to finish their introduction before offering his own hand to Finger Guns.

“Anything to add on those subjects? Or questions, I suppose, while we wait for our final teammate?”

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

"You as well," Kato replied, shaking Void's hand. He then turned back to Inkmeister and shook his. "Past battles? Hm… well, there was that time fought this one villain a few years back. Called himself the Count, if I remember correctly. He'd get stronger and faster for a while if he drank someone else's blood. Unfortunately, I got a couple of shots off before I realized. By that point, I was trying to fistfight this guy that was probably twice as strong as he was normally and just as fast while I was losing a bunch of blood." Kato frowned a little at the memory. He'd charged in thinking that it would have been an easy fight and had left quite a bit humbled. "It was a good thing I wasn't alone for that one, otherwise I would've been toast. Since the villain was entirely focused on me, my teammate was able to get a sneak attack off and knock him out by the time she made it to where we were."

Deleted user

"Damn, sounds like a tough fight. Good on you and your teammate for getting things taken care of in the end, though," Takao commented, taking a few steps back to hop up on the table. His legs swung slightly as he faced Miyazaki. "What about you? Any challenging villain fights?"

@PastelTart

"Yeah." Aika responded, "I fought a villain calling herself 'Echo.' She could make her voice sound like someone else's." She said, thinking back to when she battled the annoying villain. "I managed to knock her into one of my portals, and she went flying out the other, straight into the side of a building. By the time I got her to the police station, I was about ready to send her flying again just to shut her up. Seriously, she talks a lot." Aika rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Anyway, any other questions?"

Deleted user

"A voice quirk?" Takao mumbled with interest. "Those are pretty rare in the line of heroes and villains… It's a shame she decided to use it for wrong."

He laughed when she mentioned how the villain wouldn't shut up, leaning back on the table and gesturing with his free hand as he asked, "What is it with villains and monologuing? Like I get it might be an attention thing, but surely they could just make a podcast or something rather than causing all that trouble? At least some of them." He shook his head, breathing out an amused sigh as he shifted his attention once again to Finger Guns.

"Any clue who our final teammate is? You seemed to know us right away, though it's not like we're subtle," he amended with a grin.

(sorry for the delay, I left this on my computer and couldn't get to it)
(hope he is okay)

Roleplayer Questions
Preferred Name/Nickname: Z, Zephir, Zane
Do you have any triggers fellow roleplayers should know about? If so, what are they?: Probably not any that apply here, if I think of any, I'll let you know
When are your most active periods?: Depends on what subject I am in at school but 8:30am to 6:30pm NZST I would say

Character Template
Name: Kichi Takada
Hero Name: Cobra
Aliases/Preferred Name/Nicknames: Usually Taka or Ki
Age: 21
Gender & Pronouns: Male, he/him/they/them
Sexuality: Gay
Quirk: Venom Fangs; Has sharp fang like teeth where his canines should be that can seemingly fold out to point slightly forwards or be longer. He has highly toxic venom which can be used by biting opponents, making them lose energy quickly and black out, or can be spat, which will dissolve inorganic material and cause stinging burn-like wounds. He isn't immune to his own poison however and being hit with hit or biting himself would have consequences. He also has pretty bad hearing and eyesight but they aren't too bad to warrent glasses or hearing aids.
Backstory: Kichi was born into a highranking hero family and was pressured by tradition into becoming a pro hero. Went to UA and almost didn't graduate because of his reckless and rebellious behaviour. When he did graduate, he went immediatly into solo hero work. He prefers gathering information and spying on bad guys to actual frontline fighting but he can fight if needed
Appearance: 5'5" and mad about it, fluffy white hair, pale skin, yellow snake-like eyes, forked tongue
Personality: Reckless and impulsive. He has a tendancy to rush in too fast but can hold himself back in most instances. Low self esteem, clingy, and was somehow the quiet edgy kid and the kid that got in trouble all the time
Support Items: Doesn't have anything specific for his quirk but has basic gear to help him fight like lightweight armour and gloves to make his punches hurt more
Other: He can hiss

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Kato stroked his chin. "He had a snake name, I remember that much. Viper? Python, maybe?" He snapped his fingers suddenly upon remembering. "Oh! Cobra, that's right! Yeah," he said. "I don't really know too much about him, maybe he's more of a 'behind the scenes work' kinda guy?" Kato shrugged. "Then again, maybe not. Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to working with you all."

@PastelTart

"Me too. This is gonna be so exciting!" Aika bounced on her toes and looked expectantly at the door. "I hope he gets here soon. He sounds really interesting."

Deleted user

(Very interesting character, and he's more than fine! Feel free to hop in at any point, and I'll respond soon :)

@ZephirFox8812

Kichi tapped lightly on the door and poked his head through. "Hello? Are you guys my new teammates?" He asked, his fangs and forked tongue giving him a slight lisp. His eyes darted between the other heroes.

Deleted user

"That's possible. I tend to try and avoid the media, myself, but with varying degrees of success," Takao responded almost sheepishly. "But yeah, same here! And I'm sure he'll—"

He broke off at the tap on the door, shifting his gaze to meet the snake hero's. "Well speak of the devil and he shall appear! No offense," he added quickly, holding his hands out placatingly. "You must be Cobra? I'm Inkmeister, that's Void, and that's Finger Guns," he explained, gesturing to himself and the other heroes respectively with his marker still clutched in his hand. "Sorry for stealing your introductions, by the way," he added, glancing apologetically at his new friends(?).

Turning back to Cobra, he started to ask, "Did anyone send you in here, by the way? All I was told was to wait in here until everyone arrived and that things would be explained then, but there's been nyAHH—"

Takao cut himself off with a shout as a hand landed on his shoulder, and he practically jumped out of his skin to see a vaguely amused face directly behind him. "Christ, Asahi, you promised you wouldn't do that anymore," he huffed, clutching his heart dramatically as the rest of the ghostly figure materialized on the other side of the table.

"All in good fun, Takao, all in good fun," Specter replied evenly, raising his eyes to examine the other heroes in the room. "Now that you're all here, I can begin the debriefing. My name is Yumma Asahi, hero name Specter, and I'm the director of this particular project. Before we get started, do any of you have any concerns related to this here team?"

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Kato waved when Inkmeister said his name. "It's cool, don't worry about it," he replied good-naturedly to the apology, then laughed when the other hero was startled. He thought about jokingly saying something like, 'Yeah, does Inkmeister over there have any heart problems we should know about?' but decided that maybe he should be a little more serious right now. "None on my end," he answered Specter's question.

@PastelTart

Aika shook her head. "Not from me." She glanced at her new teammates with a smile. "I've got a good feeling about this."

@ZephirFox8812

Kichi shook his head and took some time to remember his new teammates' names. Void, Inkmeister and Finger Guns? He was sure he'd heard of them all at least once.

Deleted user

"Nothing from me, either," Takao agreed, relaxing his grip on his shirt and devoting his full attention to Specter, who nodded in approval at the group as a whole.

"Perfect. If any of you had voiced concerns, you would've been removed from the mission faster than you could say 'Plus Ultra'," he commented dryly, making direct eye contact with Finger Guns and Cobra, specifically, as Takao made a muffled complaint about him being partial towards the renowned school. It wasn't Takao's fault he couldn't destroy a bunch of robots with his quirk as a measly fourteen-year-old, leading to him to attend Shiketsu, instead.

Specter continued without missing a beat. "I'm sure you've all heard about the League of Villains?" he prompted, turning his back to the heroes as he wandered over to the shelf Void had been examining earlier.

Inkmeister suppressed a shudder at the notorious title, covering by pulling one of his legs up to join him on the table. "Of course," he responded. "They were all over the news a few years back. They're the ones who attacked USJ and got mixed up with the hero killer, among other things… But they were defeated, weren't they?"

The older hero spared him a glance and nodded. "That's correct. Their influence, however, can still be seen all over Japan. For the most part this hasn't been much of an issue, as the few pop-up groups we've seen are incredibly disorganized and, quite frankly, poorly put-together… Until now." Specter paused for emphasis, then carried on. "This one, as you might have gathered, is different. They've been playing it safe, sticking to the shadows and focusing on strengthening their organization before exposing themselves. In fact, the only reason we know about them at all is thanks to the underground hero Skulk, who suffered serious injuries in her effort to bring this issue to light."

Takao frowned, glancing at the others to gauge their reactions as Specter added in a graver tone, "They call themselves 'The Syndicate'."

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

Kato had lifted a brow at Specter's dry remark, but did not say anything. Was that… supposed to be a dig at UA? Or not, based on Takao's reaction? Meh. No big deal, he thought. Besides, this wasn't the time to be focused on probably insignificant remarks.

He was a little surprised when the director mentioned the League of Villains and the groups that had been 'inspired' by them. Most of them were small and disorganized enough that they could barely be considered a threat, let alone the next League. Kato had helped deal with one or two in the past. The fact that this one was actually something to be concerned about piqued his interest, and his expression darkened a bit upon hearing of Skulk's injuries. Not that he personally knew her or anything, but underground heroes didn't exactly have a tendency to mess around. If she was hurt that badly, this group was a capable one.

Kato nodded grimly at the group's name. Sure, it sounded like an edgy middle-schooler's idea of a cool name, but then again, so had the League of Villains. "Sounds like they could be the real deal," he commented. "What was Skulk able to find out?"

Deleted user

"Not much," the director responded grimly. "As you may or may not know, Skulk specializes in infiltration and information-gathering. Unfortunately, The Syndicate caught wind of her arrival before she'd even showed up. All we were able to gather for certain was a rough estimate of their numbers and a couple of quirks."

Inkmeister grimaced at the news. "And what about Skulk? Will she be alright?" he questioned, thoughts drifting to the one time he'd interacted with the hero. She was brash and confident, all tied together with that mysterious atmosphere most underground pros carried with them. It was hard to imagine her as badly injured as Asahi had implied.

"She'll survive. She suffered numerous fractured bones and severe internal bleeding, but fortunately, another hero with a speed quirk was nearby at the time she escaped," Specter informed, clasping his hands behind his back. "As for The Syndicate, we've gathered that they're still quite low on numbers. Skulk reported two that had direct contact with her, but she assumes there to be no more than ten in total despite all the time they've had to grow. We imagine this is due to an effort to avoid drawing our attention. Of course, now that we're aware, it's incredibly likely they'll be speeding up their plans."

"…You mentioned you know some of their quirks?" Takao prompted, ignoring the flutter of relief in his chest at learning Skulk would be alright.

Specter nodded again. "We know for certain one of them has some kind of voice binding quirk. When he makes contact with a person's neck, a seal appears and the target becomes unable to speak specific keywords or phrases that the user decides on. Alternatively, he can silence them completely. Skulk was inflicted with this very quirk, hence the limited information we've been able to receive. What we have learned was largely thanks to the hero Mind Leech, who was able to glean information from Skulk's memories. We were able to identify the villain Skulk later fought with as Gushiken Iwa, quirk: Bone Density. She can alter the density of her bones at will depending on the amount of calcium she ingests, according to her most recent record, which just so happens to be junior high. She went missing several years back, only now appearing again after all this time."

Takao was quiet for a moment, waiting for Specter to continue only to realize he wasn't going to. "That's it?" he wondered aloud, disbelief creeping into his tone. "I know you said there wasn't much, but… One identified villain out of a possible ten and Commission decided four random pros who have never worked together are enough to take them down?"

The director fixed him with a glare that seemed to evaporate at the sigh that followed. "You're jumping to conclusions again, Takao. I never said it was your job to take them down. At this stage, we're still pressed for information. We have no idea where their main quarters lie, what the majority of their quirks are, or what their goals are. Your job," he emphasized, scanning all four heroes. "Is to finish what Shulk started."

@ZephirFox8812

Kichi had opened and closed his mouth to talk twice during Spectre's speech but had decided against it both times. Not now.

"Waiwaiwait- information gathering? With a team of mainly non-information gatherers?" He said, struggling to wrap his head around what the high ranking hero had said and hoping he'd just misheard him.

(Sorry for the false alarm—just wanted to apologize for the longer, hard-to-respond to replies. I promise it's almost to the good part! That said, I'm probably going to be offline most of tonight because life's really got me down and I need a bit of a break. I'll try to post something before I go to bed!)

@ZephirFox8812

(Its alright! I enjoy the long ones, it's interesting. I didn't respond because I was stuck in school or sleeping. It's okay if you need a break, hope you feel better soon)

@Cloudy_is_trying_her_best

(All good! I'm gonna give Eliza some time to respond before I do anything else with Kato, and yes–take as long as you need to, your mental health should definitely be a higher priority than a roleplay. We'll be here when you feel up to replying! ^^)

@PastelTart

(Hi!)
"I'm in!" Aika said, her eyes lighting up as she grinned. "It sounds interesting. Besides, it's a good chance to learn about villains we may have to face eventually." She thought for a moment. "Will we have to go by different names so they can't recognize us? And what about our costumes? Won't we have to change those, too?"
