"A little, yeah, but I could wait if you aren't." Kit shrugged a bit, shifting in Marin's arms.

"Well, I'm a bit hungry too," Marin noted when they learned Kit was hungry. The mage sat up, Kit in their arms.

Kit nodded a bit and started moving away, planning on getting up so that Marin wouldn't have to carry him.

Marin moved as well, standing with Kit in their arms before Kit could get to his own feet. Willow floated up to join them, ducking into Marin's hood.

Kit seemed a bit taken aback when Marin continued carrying him, but he didn't complain. "Um… w-what kinda food do you like?" He asked.

"Well, I like most anything," Marin said softly. They smiled to Kit, moving to tuck the boy under their chin again in a semblance of the position Kit seemed to be so relaxed in before.

Kit closed his eyes and relaxed again as he was held close, curling his tail up so it wouldn't be in the way. "Mm… we should be able to find something in the market, then."

"Sounds good to me." Marin smiled slightly, one arm under Kit to support him and the other resting around his waist.
"Let's head out then, hm?"

Kit nodded a bit, looking over his shoulder so he could see in case he needed to guide Marin. We'll have to take a right out of here, but it's pretty close."

"Okay then," Marin said. They hummed as they followed Kit's instructions, patting his back.
"What do you think will at the market for us?"

"Well, they've got all sorts of things. Meat, vegetables, fish, bread… I'm sure we'll find something we like." Kit smiled softly as he looked around.

"I'm sure we will then, too." Marin smiled in turn, resting their head on the boy's again. He patted Kit's back, looking content to carry him.

Kit trilled softly at the attention, obviously pretty content. "Mmm… if we tell them we're travelers, usually they're willing to spare a bit of extra, so we should be able to get some pretty easily."

"Okay then, that makes things easier," Marin said. They looked around some, to find the market and see just what foods they could afford here.

Kit made conversation with the merchants while Marin looked around, managing to get some fruit, bread, and raw meat. "How does this look to you?" He asked Marin.

Marin looked down, smiling some.
"This all looks really good," they noted, smiling brightly. "You did really good!"

Kit grinned brightly as well, seeming pleased with himself at the praise. "Thanks! We can eat the bread and stuff now, and cook the meat on the way, maybe?"

"Sounds good to me. I'm quite good at cooking things." Marin smied some as they thought, nodding.
"How does heading back sound?"

"Sounds good!" Kit grinned, adjusting his grip on all the food. "How much do you wanna eat and how much do you wanna save?" He asked.

Marin adjusted their hold on Kit in turn, thinking as they began walking.
"Well," they said, looking down at the amount of food that Kit had managed to get, "We'll probably want to keep at least half of it for emergency rations."

Kit nodded a bit, looking down at the food as well. "Yeah, probably. I'm not sure we have a means to cook the meat back at our lodging, so we'll probably save it for the journey."

"Mm. Well, I could always cook some," Marin pointed out, "But we will want to save most of it. The meat will be good for while we're traveling."

"Mhmm. We'll be hungrier when we're exerting ourselves." Kit adjusted his grip on the food again. "If you want to try and cook some, you're welcome to."

"Right," Marin said, smiling very softly as they carried Kit back into their room. "We can just have a little bit of it now. I'll cut some off, then."

Kit nodded a bit and held the meat up to Marin. "Sounds good to me. You're free to do whatever you want to do with it."

Marin sat Kit down, taking the meat in their hands.
"Mm," They said with a nod, moving to sit down. They pulled a knife out of their bag, cutting off a stripe of it before setting the main portion aside. They pulled their gloves off, taking the strip of meat in both hands. They concentrated, a low glow coming from their palms as they heated up. Soon enough, the meat was sizzling away, being cooked.

Kit watched Marin curiously, obviously intrigued by how the magic worked. He didn't have much magic himself, after all. The smell of the meat was nice as well, and it made his stomach growl as he edged closer to Marin.

Marin looked up, smiling some.
"I keep the flame just under my skin," they explained, showing how their skin was glowing some, "So it's easier to keep the meat from burning. Here, it should be almost done." Marin hummed some, letting their magic drop as they tore the meat in half. They waited for a moment, offering Kit's piece to him.
"Careful, it's still hot," they said with a small smile.

"How does it not burn your skin if it's under it?" He asked curiously, still watching as the meat cooked. He accepted the food when it was offered to him, blowing on it for a few seconds to cool it down before taking a bite. He seemed pleased enough with it, sitting cross-legged beside Marin.

"A lot of practice," Marin admitted with a small chuckle. "I also asked one of my friends to use her healing to give the inside of my skin the same fire resistance the outside does." Marin showed Kit their hands, the old healed burns.
