Emile was relieved to see her doing better. He relaxed in his chair with a content sigh, glad he could actually do something to help.

Staying quiet, the girl finished the crumb, looking up at Emile. She was relaxing more, now that she had some food in her and she wasn't around Astral anymore.
"Thank you…"
“You’re very welcome.” He replied, smiling at her. He didn’t have the heart to tell her just yet that Astral probably wouldn’t let him keep her.
The girl moved to sit up a bit more, legs under her.
"Is it alright if I have some more..?"
“Yes just don’t have too much.” He said, breaking off another piece for her, handing it to the girl.
"Okay," The girl said, still having to stop herself from saying 'sir.' She smiled some, taking the food to eat it.
Emile took a few crackers for himself. He didn’t necessarily need to eat in his current form but it was nice.
Soon enough, the girl was relaxing, full. She let out a happy hum, curling up against Emile's fingers.
Emile smiled softly, closing up the cracker box with his free hand. He carefully stood up, going and putting the box away.
The girl moved to be laying down again as Emile began walking again, closing her eyes. She wrapped her arms around his forefinger, nuzzling close for comfort.
Emile hummed softly, beginning to look for a place where they could go sit in peace. Not in the living room, that’s for sure. Emile didn’t like most of the souls there.
The girl didn't either. Most of them were mean to her. She glanced up, staying curled up against Emile's hand for now.
Emile just started wandering around again like he did earlier, trying to find somewhere isolated.
There was really only two rooms Astral wouldn't just hunt them down in when he felt it was time to take the girl back- the gardens, and the library.
Thankfully, the library was where he ended up, sitting down with a soft sigh, letting himself relax.
It was a good thing Simon and Mia had left, then. The girl looked around, curious.
"What… is this place?" She asked softly.
“It’s the library.” Emile said quietly, knowing that they were at risk of running into Simon and Mia in this part of the house.
"Li…brary?" The girl copied the word, not familiar with it. "What is that? I- I'm sorry if I should know-" The girl tensed up, looking down at her lap.
“No it’s okay. A library is a place that has a lot of books. Do you know what books are, dear?” He asked gently.
The girl slowly shook her head. She had no idea what a book was, actually. She'd never been exposed to them before.
“Well…a book is something that holds written stories. Sometimes they’re about things that actually happened, and sometimes they’re things that people make up.” He explained, hoping he did an okay job of it.
"Story..?" The girl dared to look up at Emile, curled up on herself a bit. She still had no idea what Emile was talking about.
“Hang on, let me think of how to explain it.” He sighed softly, thinking for a moment before coming up with something. “A story is telling what happened to somebody. Does that make any sense?”
The girl nodded some at that, looking up still.
"So… there are stories in here?'
“Mhm, lots of stories.” He confirmed, glad that she seemed to understand now.
The girl nodded, looking around.
"Can I… can I hear one?"
“Sure, I’ll go find one for us.” He said with a soft smile, standing up and going to look for a good book for them.
"Thank you…" The girl looked around, keeping close to Emile's hand for now as he moved around.
Emile was trying to figure out if there was any sort of organization in the library, walking through the aisles until he figured it out.
Most books were sorted by subject matter, like most libraries. There were no labels to tell one what section they were in, though, but it could be assumed there was a children's section somewhere. Astral was obsessed with having a child, after all.
