"And… especially to what I did to you before, Simon." Astral still couldn't bring himself to look at the man on the bed.
"All of it. I…"
"And… especially to what I did to you before, Simon." Astral still couldn't bring himself to look at the man on the bed.
"All of it. I…"
Simon had never gotten an apology before. “I…” he took a second just to process. “Thank you.” He repeated. “I appreciate it.” He didn’t know if he could forgive him yet.
Astral nodded just slightly. Shit, shit, his mind was blanking, he didn't know what to say.
“It’s gonna take me some time still..you know that right?” Simon asked softly. Because while he was open to forgiving Astral, it wouldn’t be immediate.
"I do," Astral said, nodding some. "And I would never ask you to forgive me before you're ready. This is about making sure you're okay, not for me to feel better about myself."
((YES ASTRAL YESSSSSS))
Simon was honestly very very surprised that Astral was on that level of thinking already. The emotion was probably very obvious on his face but he couldn’t help it. “Okay then…I’m glad to hear that.”
(HE'S FINALLY LEARNING YESSSS)
Astral nodded some, daring to glance up at Simon.
"And… I want to learn. How to help, to be better. I… don't know exactly want I need to do to do that, Simon, I'll be the first to admit it…"
((OMG I’M SO PROUD LOOK AT HIM GOOOO))
Simon felt..so relieved. If Astral really was telling the truth. Then maybe this time could be better. He nodded. “I’m…I’m so glad.” He smiled, just a bit, but it was there.
(I KNOW RIGHT?!)
Mia didn't trust Astral. He'd tried to pretend to be nice to Simon before, after all. She gave his hand a warning squeeze. He was trusting too much.
Simon’s smile faltered a bit and he leaned into Mia’s side. She was right of course..he knew that. He just..he wanted it to be real so badly. He needed it to be real.
Mia wrapped her arm protectively around Simon.
"So… what do you want me to do?" Astral glanced up again, hands at his side. He wanted to make it real too.
“I-I don’t know.” He said, his hopes crushed a bit now, honestly.
Mia stared at Astral as the god lowered his gaze.
"O-Okay…"
“Can you give me time to think about it…please?” He asked softly. Because honestly, he didn’t know what he wanted. He wanted things to be better but he didn’t even know what ‘better’ would look like.
Astral nodded slowly.
"Yes, of course…" the god turned, taking the door handle and moving to leave.
“Thank you, for coming in here..” he said after a moment, before Astral could leave.
Astral paused, just barely looking up enough to see Simon.
"I… you're welcome…"
Simon nodded, leaning back in bed again, silent permission for Astral to leave. He wasn’t looking anywhere near Mia, or squeezing her hand like he normally would. He knew she was trying to protect him but…well- he was just upset.
(Not Astral using all .5 heart that he has lmao)
((Lmaooo look at him go))
(Torin's not getting out of his spirit breaking Jar experience~)
Astral pulled away, letting out a breath as he closed the door and left.
Mia watched him go, her hand giving Simon's a squeeze.
"We have to be careful."
(qgdvshhsbavgsgsvsvshdvvdbsbdbbsbabdbd)
“I know.” He said quietly, pulling his hand away from hers. He didn’t want to have to be careful. He just wanted things to be better already.
Mia pulled her hand to her chest some when Simon pulled away. She looked to the side, letting out a breath.
"You told me to make sure you didn't trust him too quickly," she pointed out. "I've… I've already seen him trick you into believing everything was okay once, Simon, I… I don't want to have to watch it happen again…" Mia really was just worried for Simon, in the end.
“I-I know….” he said softly, looking down at his lap. “I just…I want it so bad. I know that’s stupid but I…I just want it.” He said, sniffling softly as he reached a hand up, wiping off some rapidly appearing tears on his sleeve.
Mia moved to gently hug Simon, rubbing his back.
"I… I want it too," she said, "But we have to be so careful. I want you to be happy, Simon, but it's going to take time."
Simon didn’t respond. At the moment he almost felt…angry with her. He didn’t want to be careful. He didn’t want to have to doubt everyone’s true intentions around every turn. He knew she was just looking out for him but he wasn’t used to living like this.
(Do I smell a fight coming? >:3)
Mia fell quiet as well, pulling away from Simon. She was just trying to help him, the way he'd told her to even. They had to doubt everything, because they were dealing with a god here, one who'd tricked and hurt people for centuries.
(Drama Idea: At some point Simon and Mia get in a fight because Simon wants to Speed Run getting back to before with Astral and runs off, and Astral's the one who has to talk Simon out of it)
((I mean idk maybeeeeeee))
((Ooooooh good drama idea. I mean Simon’s definitely gonna try and rush things mostly because I have very little patience lmao))
“I’m sorry.” He said after a moment. “I’m just…I’m not used to this. I usually just do whatever I want. No ones ever there to warn me about the consequences.”
