Very very unfortunate.
"Hopefully he doesn't… He's got too much already. Much more than he ever deserved."
Very very unfortunate.
"Hopefully he doesn't… He's got too much already. Much more than he ever deserved."
Emile nodded in agreement. “At the very least he’s going to be lost for awhile. He won’t know what to do with himself anymore. If that does happen it might help to give him small tasks, just things so he can feel useful.
"I'll talk to Mia about that," Astral agreed. "I'm just worried if I'm the one to ask him to do things, even little things, he'll feel like he doesn't have a choice and is in danger if he doesn't."
“Yeah that’s very true.” He was glad that to some degree, at least for the moment, Astral was considering how all of his actions would impact Simon in the future.
"He's… show some, ah, not wanting me to never talk to him ever again? But if we are going to work on finding a way to live together again, I'm going to have to take it damn slow, and be careful that I don't push." Astral let out a sigh, hands folding.
((YES ASTRAL YES NOW YOU’RE GETTING IT!!))
“I’m sure he’ll appreciate that. Really. He will.” These were pretty reassuring signs so far, as long as Astral actually followed through. But the god was getting there, and that was good. Simon would appreciate it. Emile knew he sure did when Alec had to do the same to mend their relationship. Of course for different reasons, but around the same level of damage done.
(NOW HE JUST HAS TO FIGURE OUT THE ACTUAL STEPS TO TAKE XD)
(And I'm super curious about Alec and Emile now)
"Mm…" Astral just hoped he could figure it out, do his best to actually carry through with this. He didn't want Simon hurt anymore, and he wanted to actually keep him safe. Not the thoughts that had been crossing his mind before, not the things that would just hurt him.
"It's going to take time, to teach myself to be… kind. But it'll be worth it."
((YEAH THATS THE HARD PART OOF))
((I can tell you if you wanttttt))
“Yes. Yes it will be. You just have to stick with it and try your hardest. And there are going to be times when you slip up, but you just have to keep trying.” Emile reassured.
(Yes pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee gimme angst uwu)
Astral nodded once firmly, his hands closing into determined fists.
"Right." The god fell quiet for a moment. "I… any tips? I have… no idea what this is going to take, not really. Knowing the things you shouldn't do is different than the things you need to do."
((yesssssss I have an obsession with them lmao))
((So to start off with, Emile’s been dead for awhile. He was alive in like the 1300s. He was always a social outcast for multiple reasons and was forced to live outside of his village from a very young age. Alec basically took advantage of him being vulnerable, got Emile to trust him, and then convinced Emile to murder everyone in the town, bit by bit because they deserved it which I mean they did sooo. And of course they eventually got caught, or at least Emile did. Alec basically left him to get executed and then didn’t rescue him from damnation for a good century or so so yeah they had issues.))
“Just…be careful with him. Simon’s very fragile, he always has been. Always ask if he’s okay with something before you do it. Go and check up on him every few days at least, not for the baby, but for him, just to make sure he’s doing okay.” He said, listing the first few things off the top of his head. “Prove that you can be better, show that you can stay calm. You just have to show him that you care.”
(>:0 Baby. Emile child. I. Alec. Asshole. Like, they made up, but. Dick. Fucker. Bad sprays with spray bottle)
"Understood." Astral was going to commit these things to memory, because he couldn't afford not to.
"I… I'm going to do my best. I know I'm not going to be perfect, not at the beginning, but I can do my best, and do better every time. And that's no excuse to be terrible at the beginning, either- I have to put all of my effort into this from the very first time, and learn from there."
(says the person who regularly torments other people's characters haha)
(shshshshsh hey you're the one who decided to prolong Torin's pain)
(:P true. But you're the one who informed me of the Jar and also the one that made Derlik)
(…True I did)
(so I guess to be fair we kinda share the blame for that lmao)
((Lmaooo yeah they made up now though so it’s fiiiiiiiine. They’re in a very happy healthy relationship ;w;))
((and yes Swim you literally do the exact same lol))
He nodded. “Simon will be glad to know that you’re trying. I think he wants to forgive you and move past things, but he just doesn’t know if you feel the same.” He sighed softly, looking up at the god. “You’re going to have to work really hard. And it’s gonna get really frustrating sometimes. But it’ll be worth it.”
((also totally off topic but I have this head canon that Emile did a bunch of art when he was alive and some of it ended up in museums with no artist name and he and Alec just- casually commit art theft))
(hopefully Astral and Simon can heal that much qwq)
(Oh that sounds like fun lol)
"It'll be worth it," Astral echoed. It felt… Strange, to think Simon wanted to forgive him after everything that had happened. He let out a soft sigh, not sure if it could be true.
((I hope so qwq))
((yes they enjoyed it lol))
Under any normal circumstances, Emile wouldn’t have wanted Simon to forgive someone who’d hurt him like Astral had. But of course these weren’t normal circumstances at all. Simon was stuck here and he would just have to make the best of it. Hopefully Astral would actually improve.
Hopefully indeed. Astral planned on doing so, but it'd take a while to unlearn centuries of behaviors.
"I hope this will work out, I really do…"
He nodded. “I do too.” If it didn’t work out, Emile would probably strangle Astral himself. He didn’t want to see Simon in any more pain because of the god.
It was a good thing Astral didn't want Simon in any more pain at all, period. If he did end up hurting Simon again he'd probably let Emile strangle him.
"I… Mia isn't going to be happy about this. She'd much prefer Simon never had to see me again.'
“I mean it makes sense. She’s known you for a lot longer than he has. Plus, you took something really important from her, didn’t you?” He pointed out.
A shadow fell over Astral's eyes, though more from the memories then actually directed at Emile.
"Yes, I did…"
“Is there any way at all that you could fix that for her? It’d make this process a lot easier on both her and Simon.” Emile said gently.
Astral fell silent at he thought.
"I… Don't think so. She's already grown accustomed to her new love, she doesn't remember Mia at all. It might just end up hurting the woman more."
((Broooo thats so sad ;-;))
Emile nodded. “I see….” he said softly. That would be difficult then. “Is there anything else you can think of that might soothe her at all?”
(I knowwwwww ;';)
(But hey mind got wiped and dates the High Priestess now, and she has a new lover and they're really happy…)
"I'm… Not sure. I never… Got to know much about Mia." She was just supposed to have been a friend for his adopted daughter, not… What they became.
"I should have never treated them the way I did…"
((That’s good then at least :’) ))
“You shouldn’t have.” He agreed. This was pretty worrying. Emile was guessing it was likely she’d snap at any part of the process if her needs and desires weren’t being addressed as well. And then she’d either hurt herself, or even possibly hurt Simon.
