“Two gyros and two salads.” he smiled as he placed the meals in front of the girls.
“Thank you.” Sophie smiled politely back.
“Two gyros and two salads.” he smiled as he placed the meals in front of the girls.
“Thank you.” Sophie smiled politely back.
"Thank you." Raven echoed, giginv the waiter another polite smile before turning to her food.
“Enjoy your meal.” The waiter nodded before leaving the pair in peace.
Sophie smiled and turned back to Raven and their dinners.
Raven gave Sophie a soft smile. "Well, ready to eat?"
“Of course. I had a busy day at work today so I'm actually pretty hungry.” she nodded, unrolling her silverware.
"Mm, me too. Though not because I was busy."
Sophie giggled a little and nodded before taking a bite of the salad first.
She took a bite of her gyro, careful not to spill the messy thing all over.
Sophie smiled a little at the sight, knowing how hard it was to eat those. “So, where did you get your degree in architecture?”
She blinked, in the middle of chewing. She took a moment to finish, swallowed, then said, "I uh, I went to Oregon State." She replied.
“Sorry.” she apologized for the interruption, giving her time to answer. “Oregon? I bet that was nice. What's it like there?” she asked, more interested in learning more about her “date”.
"Oh, Oregon is great." She agreed. "The mountains and the beaches are great. The University itself is pretty big, but it wasn't bad. I really enjoyed it."
“That sounds beautiful.” she smiled. “I’ve never been there before… but I've been to Florida before. The university you went to sounds nice though.”
"Florida and Oregon are a little bit different." she replied, laughing. "It was great, yeah. What about you? I can't remember if you said whether or not you went to college?"
“Yeah, I know. There's no mountains in Florida.” she chuckled. “I… didn't say before but I did go to college. Nothing special though. It was just the local community college and I just got my gen ed degree.” she admitted. “They didn't really have much in the way of water classes there and I didn't have enough money at the time to go out of state.”
She nodded a little bit. "Hey, a little is better than nothing. And, you could go back in the future, if you decided to." she replied, doing her best to reassure the other woman.
“That’s true.” Sophie nodded, not really upset by her amount of education but it did feel a bit plain compared to Raven and Jade. “And there are correspondence courses as well I could look into.” she added with a smile.
"That too! And hey, no reason to go to college if you don't need to, y'know? I'm still paying off my loans."
“Right. I’ve heard those student loans are terrible.” she nodded, her smile growing.
"God, they're awful." she grumbled.
“Hey, if you need any help with paying them off…” she offered.
She raised an eyebrow at Sophie.
Sophie shrugged a little at the look. “I may not have a lot of money but I can budget well enough to help out.” she explained before blushing a little. “And I know how to get a little extra cash when I really need it.”
"I don't…I really appreciate the offer, Sophie, but I've got a handle on the payments." she replied, blinking at the other woman.
“Alright. If you're sure.” Sophie nodded. “But if you do need help… with anything, don't be afraid to ask. I'd be willing to help you.”
She was really just surprised by the offer. It was quite a thing to offer, especially when they didn't know each other all that well yet. "Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, Sophie."
“No problem.” Sophie smiled warmly. It was something Sophie and Jade had in common, and sort of bonded over. The fact that they considered each other generous and helping people. Though it wasn't always with money… the method of help often depended on the situation.
She smiled back, then took a bite of food.
Sophie smiled softly and turned back to her meal as well.
She took another bite of her gyro, doing her best not to spill it.
